Adding different faiths for hellenic religion, slavic, etc to represent regional mythos wouldn't be a bad idea actually.

Finally someone who understands this. It'd be like splitting the Hellenic faith into multiple regional cultures like "Lacedonian", "Dorian", "Macedonian" etc. People don't even portray the Roman faith as being any different than the Greek one, which it was. It was even more split apart then Anglo & Norse due to their Pre-Etruscan roots. It's worth pointing out that the Etruscans Hellenised Roman myth, but the Etruscan religion was also quite unique.
What'd be best is if all cultures, even the Swedes, Geats, Norweigans, Jutes and Danes all had their own religions. Like Sweden having a higher emphasis on Freyja and Thor (in the temple of Uppsala, the Thor idol was seated on a throne suggesting he was king. Similar to Perun and Veles's rivalry. However Thor (light, electricity, friction) could be visually shown as king whereas Odin (sound, wind, friction) said to be king)

2 The Geats (goths) and Danes could emphasise Odin more. With Jutes perhaps worshipping a benevolent Jotun due to their name "Jute" being cognate with a Germanic demon (Jotun).
The Faroese were said to worship two malevolent female Jotun aswell, named Thorgerd and Irpa.
The Norweigans worshipped a friendly Jotun named "Skadi".
I think there could be varying degrees of hostility between these cults, and perhaps an option to switch between them like the Hindus, Buddhists & Jains could switch in CK2 (why do they always represent Indian polytheists well but noone else).

Is this still being updated?
nmcoyote 16 Jun, 2022 @ 9:26am
Actually the Angles, Saxons, and Jutes who settled in England after the Roman departure were most closely aligned with the Scandinavian/Viking culture/religion. Witness Wodin (instead of Odin) for example. Of course they were all part of the Germanic family tree.

Using this in Royal Court and so far works well.
Samir Al-Hajeed 9 Jul, 2021 @ 8:18pm
@Sir Greyliege Anglo-Saxons are Germanic peoples from northern germany and denmark
Loom 28 Mar, 2021 @ 2:58pm
@Sir Greyliege Anglo-Saxon is not Celtic. The Anglo-Saxons came from a Germanic peoples but they might have thought Stonghenge was an important place. There isn't much information on their view of the site.
Jacon 1 Mar, 2021 @ 5:20pm
cool
ChangoTheBeast  [author] 28 Feb, 2021 @ 7:13pm
@Jacon I did have it written here before somewhere, but I pretty much just made it up using Anglosaxon words meaning pretty much the same as Ásatrú from the base game
Jacon 28 Feb, 2021 @ 4:58pm
I've got a question actually. Where does the term you are using for the religion come from and/or mean? I've never seen the word before and am kinda curious.
Ragnar Lodbrok 3 Feb, 2021 @ 4:23am
@Mr98326 Because abrahamism is fucking boring. Shut up monotheist
HotB 13 Jan, 2021 @ 5:57pm
Is this compatible with the current verison ?
Mr98326 19 Dec, 2020 @ 5:51pm
why not make something more interesting like decisions inside the islamic world? we know a lot more about muslim sects than saxon religion.

Heyo, great mod you've got! One question though: I was wondering why stonehenge isn't a holy site. Assuming anglo-saxon paganism is based on old celtic traditions, it seems to me that stonehenge would be a very important location to these druids. Other than that, I've got no complaints!
Anglo-Saxophone 26 Oct, 2020 @ 9:07pm
Another edit for the future, change Godi (Norse term) to Sacerd (Anglo-Saxon term) (Masculine plural: Sacerdas, feminine plural: Sacerda) and in the description, change "Es" to "Ese"
ChangoTheBeast  [author] 13 Oct, 2020 @ 1:07pm
@Poetic
You have to start a new game for this mod to take effect. If you already have, it should be listed with the other pagan faiths.

@Tjod
Thanks for the feedback. I'll look into making the edits you suggest with the next update. Currently playing around with localisation to change the months and days of the week to the Anglo-Saxon ones. Might make that a separate mod though since it will change regardless of you being Anglo-Saxon or not.
Poetic 12 Oct, 2020 @ 6:50pm
cant find this in the * other faiths* when im choosing a religion.
Tjod 12 Oct, 2020 @ 11:09am
Would recommend using color = { 1.0 0.1 0.1 } instead of your current colour, as the green colour gives off a more celtic vibe. Same goes with the icon. Also, I can't find the word Osgeleafe, wouldn't Ósġelēafa be more correct? https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/geleafa . Also as a final thing, Ósġelēafa and Ásatrú should consider each other righteous or astray.

The mod is awesome, keep it up!

Sorry for the wait, The mod has been updated for the latest version.
Anglo-Saxophone 29 Sep, 2020 @ 10:34am
Can you update for the newest patch at least?
Anglo-Saxophone 19 Sep, 2020 @ 7:18am
Hello, I have a suggestion for another mod to make
The 867 start is riddled with inaccuracies, for one, the house of Wessex is incomplete, Aethelstan of Kent, Alfred's older brother, is missing, Aethelred (the duke of wessex in that time) also had two sons, Aethelwold and Aethelhelm, who are also missing, there are also some problems with the norse:

-Ivar the Boneless rules the Isles instead of Imar, who was the son of Gofraid of Lochlann, who by the time of 867, had not yet conquered the Isles
-Sigurd "Snake-in-the-eye" is a ruler and is far too old
-Olof should rule Sweden
-Horik II should rule Denmark as a king
-Guthrum should be the nephew of Harald "Fairhair"

ta.
ChangoTheBeast  [author] 16 Sep, 2020 @ 11:57am
Yeah, You need to start a new game for custom religions to load in
Crowsy 16 Sep, 2020 @ 8:36am
Do you have to start a new game for this to take effect as I'm not seeing the Religion Osgeleafe, I see Asatru and Paganism.
Crowsy 16 Sep, 2020 @ 8:11am
Cheers
ChangoTheBeast  [author] 16 Sep, 2020 @ 4:33am
There is a decision to convert if you have 2000 piety, are anglo-saxon, and have at least a duke level title. Otherwise, you can use the normal in game religious conversion by going to the religion tab and clicking other faiths and finding it on the list.
Crowsy 15 Sep, 2020 @ 1:24pm
Thanks. How would you get this religion in game then?
ChangoTheBeast  [author] 15 Sep, 2020 @ 12:23pm
As of right now, you can not start a new game with the Religion since there are no rulers in any of the current time stamps that have this religion. One way around this is to add in the piety to switch to the religion right away. Otherwise you can use random religions and hope that one of the rulers gets randomised to it.
Crowsy 15 Sep, 2020 @ 9:15am
I have been looking for something like this so thanks. Can you start a new game with this religion, if so how? cheers.
Red Shoe Paul 14 Sep, 2020 @ 9:21am
In the event effects for Rediscover the True Faith you should take the apostrophe out of "Anglo-Saxon's", other than that it's pretty exciting.
ChangoTheBeast  [author] 8 Sep, 2020 @ 5:17am
@Anglo-Saxophone
That's a good idea, I'll be sure to update the mod to include this.
Anglo-Saxophone 7 Sep, 2020 @ 2:15pm
Hello mod-author, could you make it so that the Anglo-Saxon pagans in the history tabs follow this modded religion instead of Asatru? Many thanks for the mod
MINOS 4 Sep, 2020 @ 10:11pm
Thank you, nice Idea.
Poetic 4 Sep, 2020 @ 10:27am
