@sxeraserhead I havent updated this map in a while... maybe it's a bug caused by a new Half Life Alyx update. Try shoting the blue xen slime on the cave ceiling with your pistol instead of using grenades.

For some reason I can't get past that part near the beginning with two pits either, throwing grenades upwards does nothing even though that works in video playthroughs I've seen. Oh well.

Yet to play myself, though with the Skummeh playthrough I look forward to seeing it in flesh. . . as it were. I have a question though. Are you planning on making an additional map to the unknown power source ?


I was working on a similar cave map myself and this has inspired me to go back and revisit it.

Magnificent!

Really had fun on this.. I caught and held a live head crab in a battle lol .. quite unsettling! I also somehow managed to cut my own hands off (VR hands became severed and locked in a dispenser) :steamhappy:

This was a lot of fun, thanks 👍🏻

I have 2 thing you could improve:

Audio volume does go up and down a bit, one combine radio was waaaay to loud

In some areas brushes as clipped into other brushes, I noticed this especially in the 2nd map (for example right at the start on that „elevator“ above the player).

Those 2 are just minor things, really cool levels

Lots of unique mechanics and a great atmosphere plus some good resin locations. Agreed with everyone that part 2 was lacking a bit. Also your voice lines are too quiet (I'm running default sound settings) but I did enjoy them. Sometimes the poison headcrabs would clip heavily into the cave floor but I could still shoot them. Otherwise, really nice effort and you should definitely expand it.

I got a little lost on the first map with two pits, two barnacles, and a xen grenade spawn. I think I was supposed to do something with the reverse-gravity holes but nothing seems to work. Any tips?

May not be the most visually stunning maps, but the gameplay and creativity are solid.

I think the voice lines are still too quiet.

Great and fun map, i enjoyed using the cover things in part 2 as a riot shield when walking through the hallways. Sadly they glitched a lot but it was still fun!

Clever puzzles. Nice little touches like the Gonarch/Giant Headcrab scurrying about. Part 2 felt pretty short and lacking in content, however the custom gravity effects were super cool!

I loved the radio guy throughout this. The beginning of the 2nd map was probably my favorite part. The new gameplay mechanics - I'm being vague as to not spoil anything - made for some interesting but simple puzzles, but didn't work so well in the combat sections. It felt like something the Combine should've been using against you instead of using it against them - I found it easier to fight them regularly.

u can feel there is a mystery in this little quest ! nicely done , some creature have plenty of food haha!! , good scenario , i was facinated exploring the cave rich of color and xen fauna

If you ask me, the second doesn’t look as nice as the first one. It’s just my opinion, but it could use some polish.
