And, secondly, ekranoplan is a class, not a single vehicle. There were dozens of different projects of ekranoplans in USSR, as well as there are in Russia. "Caspian Sea Monster" was just the biggest one (and more or less successful). So, phrase "second generation (1986) Ekranoplan" is just incorrect.

- The real Ekranoplan could reach speeds of 270 knots (500kmh) and is still the fastest multi passenger boat ever built.
- Ekranoplan was a pet project of Nikita Khrushchev who bagged that the USSR had ships that could jump over bridges.
- A 2nd generation Ekranoplan was built in 1986 and has been turned into a museum in present day Russia.
- The 3rd generation Ekranoplan was being developed in the '90s but was never completed. The incomplete hull of the 3rd ship is was sitting in warehouse in Russia until the 2010s and is rumored to have been sold to China for further development.
