A gate. Simple, efficient mod. Just what i needed. Thx.

I also have a problem; the guards that come with the gate managed to kill all Imperial Soldiers (that were guards in Winterhold because I had done Civil War Questline with the Imperials.) So now they won't spawn back, and it's just these 2 guards in Winterhold. Feels kinda odd.

Just read 2.1 changes... dirty reference, heh was expecting to see a willy drawn in riverwood or something. In all seroiusness though, this mod adds the much needed realism for winterhold. A simple but very nice mod, thanks!

I know that there had been a while since the last comment and such, but it seems like this mod clashes with the civil war quests and such. Tried to make a neutral choise during the peace summit and ended up giving Winterhold and The Pale to the Imperials. Problem is that the guards on this gate are still the old guards and are hostile to the new Imperial guardsmen.

I don't know why It happened when I didn't attack them but I just solved it with turning mod off and on again. :) Anyway thanks for quick response. :)

Darkio they will only go hostile if you attack/hit them. The ai of the guards is the same for the other guards. The only thing I can think of is there is some sort of mod conflict with Guard AI. I have tested/played through multiple dragon attacks with this mod and nothing is happening like that unless I hit them.

Help pls! When the dragon attacks Winterhold and I fight him, gate guards turn to hostile..

@Wulfhound - I have just updated the mod which fixes that bug. No more dirty edits in Riverwood. :)

FYI, this mod alters the wall it was copyed from in Riverwood by placeing a gap in the wall behind the Bard and his mothers home causeing all maner of weirdness. Still a nice mod, but this ishue needs corecting.
Majestät 31. jan. 2014 kl. 10:13
Still weird why dragons would attack cities that is already in ruins, lol
Altmer Mage  [ophavsmand] 31. jan. 2014 kl. 9:46
yeah the gate will allow for dragons to perch on it :)

Great, I'm trying to find so many things to make Winterhold looking more like a city or village as much as I can. Awesome that you made this.

Nice idea, makes a lot of sense. Question: did you set up the gate so that dragons can perch on it during attacks? For some reason I get a lot of dragon attacks in Winterhold, so it would be good if dragons were aware of the structure and used it. Will try this out when I get home.

Hello, thanks for the comments :)

I am not looking to combine this with any existing winterhold mods as I fell this would limit choices and combinations for players. As to other gates I will take alook at those entrances.

To install the mod just hit subscribe then when you load the game launcher it will connect to steam and download the mod and any updated files for it :)

You may want to check out the "expanded winterhold destruction ruins" mod. The mod author abandoned it a long time ago and it does quite an extensive overhaul of winterhold and really gives it a sense of history. You should see if you can combine your mod with that one and expand upon it. I know that mod pairs well with Immersive College of Winterhold and Winterhold College Improved. I run all three together and it makes for a much more robust mage experience.

Winterhold has alway been an underappreciated place in this game. It's nice to see it get some recongnition.

Well done, I have often wondered why any self-respecting Jarl would not at least try to build some rudimentary defences-if nothing else the cliff at its back protects it from one angle. It is nice to see a mod tha tfixes this.
Do you think you could add a gateway at the other entrance? There is also the gap where the college steps begin.
Nice work.

@sir inkky - Winterhold is a dire place in vanilla skyrim! Got one or two mods planned for that place
Bozilla 20. jan. 2014 kl. 9:18
