That's awesome! Looking forward to that. Best of luck!

I'll probably remake this mod for Kenshi 2 whenever that releases, and might even expand it depending on if there are any differences in terms of the weapons and animations it has.
Dinadan 12 Mar @ 1:32am
Such a shame, your models are really cool!
S Nomad  [author] 11 Mar @ 10:59am
Haven't updated the mod in a very long time and I'm sure its been long enough that I've forgotten most of what little modelling skills i had.

There should be a low tier tech added that will unlock all of the recipes for the weapons, if its not showing up and the issue isn't from something else then ill see if I can replicate the issue and fix it.
MundaneRaven 11 Mar @ 7:31am
no clue if youre still updating, but where can i find the blueprints so i can make them myself?
S Nomad  [author] 29 Sep, 2024 @ 2:50pm
happy to hear you're enjoying the mod and were able to resolve the issue.
Dinadan 28 Sep, 2024 @ 9:10am
Addendum, I figured it out XD
Dinadan 28 Sep, 2024 @ 3:07am
Also how do I get the weapons?
Dinadan 28 Sep, 2024 @ 3:01am
I didn't think I'd find a billhook for Kenshi! TYSM!

You're welcome
God Emperor Cody 13 Apr, 2024 @ 7:15am
Thank you

Good stuff, thanks for your work on this mod, I especially like how you based the balance on pre-existing weapons, that way it doesn't feel like cheating!
Imouto catboywife 15 Jun, 2023 @ 8:05am
the scale of those weapons doesnt fit, they are often too thin and too small compared to vanilla
S Nomad  [author] 31 Jul, 2022 @ 6:33pm
I suspect that merchants selling items might be linked to them being in certain buildings somehow marked as shops in the editor if thats the case.
Seeing the weapons for sale in other cities does seem odd though as I dont recall doing anything to let others sell them (not that its a bad thing, just seems odd). It could also just be that I did let other merchants sell them and have forgotten.
Doktober 31 Jul, 2022 @ 3:48pm
That sounds awesome, good luck with that!

Skeleton Steve's pickiness wouldn't be a problem normally for runs where you set up a real base and craft your own stuff, I just happen to be doing a side-game as a shopkeeper in Squin with a security guard dressed up in plate and chainmail. I've found you can also get him to sell you stuff if he walks into the thief tower at the other end of the hub. Heck maybe if you KO'd him and carried him into either there or the bar he'd sell you stuff after waking up.

I've also seen some weapons from your mod spawn in other cities like mongrel, maybe I just have to explore around a bit to find the weapons I want.
S Nomad  [author] 31 Jul, 2022 @ 2:52pm
Firstly, hanks for checking out my mod.
I cant tell you how miserable an experience it was to even get Steve into the game and to sell anything at all, I'm terrified that touching it at all would make the whole house of cards collapse. It probably took an exponential amount of time to get him working to the sorry state its in than it did to add a weapon.
With that said, I have been considering working on the mod some more so I might tempt fate and try to get him working better.
Doktober 31 Jul, 2022 @ 1:28pm
One stipulation; Skeleton Steve only sells his stuff when he's inside the bar, and he seems to prefer to roam around the hub. Is there a way to edit him so he sells all the time?

Love these very much, big ups for the pole axe!
Red Purger 8 Jun, 2022 @ 12:22am
You could have used the merovingian long seax, which is about the same length as a gladius, and was commonly carried as a side arm (or sometimes even as a main weapon) by the franks during the 7th century. That way it wouldn't have looked so awkward.
Though I have to admit, the thought of a 100stat gigachad overhead swinging a little 8 inch long knife and severing someone's arm would be hilarious.
S Nomad  [author] 7 Jun, 2022 @ 11:04am
Honestly I had forgotten I had this up still, glad you liked it. I originally had a dagger as an alternative for the wakizashi, but the length difference and 2 handed animations made it look fairly silly so i decided to replace it for the cinquedear as it more reasonably fit the role (though its still not perfect). I looked into ways to get it working, but (from what I recall at least, its been a good bit of time) I concluded id have to learn how to animate and how to get that into the kenshi editor, which would have taken a good bit of time for one weapon. maybe for kenshi 2 though
Red Purger 7 Jun, 2022 @ 5:37am
There's a playthrough I've wanted to do for a while where I theme my faction around Scandinavian culture (Thralls, Karls, Huskarls, and Jarls) but the japanese-style weaponry never really worked for role play purposes. This weapon pack is honestly perfect. The Dane axe, Bardiches, and cinquedears/messers are great. I especially love the Dane axe because it's going to fix perfectly in my army. Absolutely splendid work. I only wish there was a seax.
S Nomad  [author] 1 May, 2021 @ 6:48pm
just updated it with some basic scabbards for a few of the swords it makes sense for, ive been meaning to replace the dagger with an arming sword for a while now so ill give it one when i get around to that.
S Nomad  [author] 30 Apr, 2021 @ 12:34am
sure, i could add some in, though with the current kind of design philosophy im going for they would just be the standard wooden ones like the default weapons in kenshi. Ive been trying to make the weapons as simply as possible in order to avoid negatively impacting performance, since the game already doesnt run great, so adding more textures might cause issues. I dont have any real experience in that regard though so maybe itd be fine.
Dr. Janitor 29 Apr, 2021 @ 2:37pm
If you are planning on adding more to this mod, is there any chance we could get scabbards?
S Nomad  [author] 12 Mar, 2021 @ 2:16pm
It has been a while since ive done any modelling and updated the mod, but i have had urges to get back into it. Maybe soon, do you have any in mind?
Sonrisa de galan 11 Mar, 2021 @ 12:20pm
I love this mod. Can you put more secondary weapons?
S Nomad  [author] 21 Dec, 2020 @ 10:03pm
glad you like it :)
ZINK 21 Dec, 2020 @ 10:02pm
Its fine its only a minor thing, i'll just tuffen up, love the halberds
S Nomad  [author] 21 Dec, 2020 @ 10:00pm
ive spent many, many hours trying my best to figure out why the icons wouldnt update to no avail, i tried updating the messes, resizing the meshes, changing weapon scales, changing icon locations, all did nothing to help. i even had the icons change sizes based on weapon grade. if i can figure out how to in the future or am given a lead ill update it but i cant do anything with my current knowledge of the situation. sorry to disappoint you
ZINK 21 Dec, 2020 @ 9:40pm
I like this mod its very nice, how ever my only gripe so far is the viability of the weapons in the inventory and im just wondering if you can fix it up so that they are more easy to see like any of the other vanilla weapons like maybe a simple picture enlarging is that possible?
MeowKitty 14 Nov, 2020 @ 11:51pm
btw that lord archadeas armory mod he put together is a perfect example, it has many many weapons and armor that I would love to use the models of , but especially the armor is so much better than vanilla that its a unusable mod for me.
MeowKitty 14 Nov, 2020 @ 11:49pm
I appreciate and respect your decision to make them identical to venilla weapons, I find that every weapon mod maker as well as armor maker, can not resist the desire to make their weapon OP in one way or another, like I'd love to use NWDM cuz some of the weapons look great but they are vastly superior to vanilla weapons so I cannot in good faith add them into my world. Same with most armor mods
S Nomad  [author] 16 Oct, 2020 @ 12:59pm
it truly is the apex of individual fighting weapons
Potato 16 Oct, 2020 @ 9:03am
pollaxe is my favorite weapon, thanks for adding it to kenshi :D
Sturm-Falke101 12 Aug, 2020 @ 9:12pm
I appreciate how careful you are about adding them to the weapon lists or not. Sometimes I'll see mods that make things weird by altering the weapon lists in ways that don't make sense or overdo things.
Awesome mod!
Lord Archadeas 12 Aug, 2020 @ 3:38pm
Don't mean to discourage, I am just keeping a few beloved mods alive and up to date. :) Its not everyone's cup of tea and I like seeing the creations of others get love too. You do great work and its good for learning. Don't let other mods take the drive away from creating your own, as you can make it how you want it. I am more than happy to give advice and technical stuff, even just random ideas. :)
S Nomad  [author] 12 Aug, 2020 @ 3:28pm
i actually got really discouraged once i saw that as its done pretty much exactly what ive been trying to do with this, but i decided to keep going as it is a big learning experience for me. cool that youve decided to look at mine at all though
S Nomad  [author] 12 Aug, 2020 @ 3:27pm
hang on a second your the publisher for that lords armoury mod monkaS
Lord Archadeas 12 Aug, 2020 @ 3:25pm
There isnt really much "Balance" in Kenshi to begin with, though some people have taken it on themselves to balance weapons to their liking, to each their own. Even I made a bit of a balance standard, its as close to realistic, while holding vanilla as close as possible. Considering one of the most dangerous weapons is their bare fists or crossbows, its up to the player on how far they want to exploit things.
S Nomad  [author] 12 Aug, 2020 @ 3:11pm
theres actually a lot more weapons i would like to add, the current main issue with it though is me restricting myself to try and get what i feel is a close analog to a weapon already in the game so i can just use its stats and not have to worry about balancing things and potentially breaking the game. ive been considering adding a testing start to the game specifically so i can test things easier and to give people an idea of how these will preform in game as well, but that seems like a fairly large amount of work, even if i do use existing assets as much as possible.
Lord Archadeas 12 Aug, 2020 @ 2:58pm
Things I don't see often here are things like War scythes, battle picks, mauls(axe on one side, sledge on the other), fork tongue blades(I know they are not practical, but I like them), full flameberges, many fist weapons, etc. I am well versed with the medieval weaponry of the world, so I have a lot of technical info I can share on them. Sadly I dont have a lot of time to do modelling, I learned a lot of the basics, but with my work, things can be sporadic and my artistic sense is terrible :P
S Nomad  [author] 12 Aug, 2020 @ 2:35pm
if you have an idea in mind give it a go, no harm in doing so. i use blender since its free and theres some good tutorials online to show you the basics
S Nomad  [author] 12 Aug, 2020 @ 2:34pm
ive been doing this as a learning experience, ive learnt a fair bit about what to do and what not do do already, ill probably be remaking at least the the first 3 weapons at some point with what ive learnt from making the rest
Lord Archadeas 12 Aug, 2020 @ 2:30pm
Hey, its always nice to see new mods for Kenshi. Its good practice and a good community. I do a lot of small things, mostly technical. Sadly I have no talent for modelling or art, so I love just seeing new things in the game.
S Nomad  [author] 12 Aug, 2020 @ 2:12pm
thanks for the advice, ill take a look into that in the future. for now though ill be focused on adding more weapons and ive been trying to learn how to make armours too.
Lord Archadeas 11 Aug, 2020 @ 4:20am
Should be under "Bookshop" squad
Lord Archadeas 11 Aug, 2020 @ 4:19am
A suggestion I might add, make a new vendor list, add all the blueprints to the list, set it to stock 10 items, and attach it to the library vendor. This prevents mod conflicts of overwriting lists, making it always available if you know where the great library is, so long as the vendor isnt deleted/moved. Keep up the good world.
BeeMonarch 9 Aug, 2020 @ 7:05am
@Saltymcsaltman no need to apologize, I am still thankful for your response and for answering my question and I have to say, your weapons suite the lore very much, if we look at the same Holy Nation as an example who do look like our real world version of Templars.
So in case if you figure out how to implement your weapons in the world of Kenshi, you should have no doubts in doing so, thank you for creating such beautiful models.
Have a great day :)
S Nomad  [author] 8 Aug, 2020 @ 2:57pm
i do plan on keeping it as a basic research for now, the only time i would remove it would be if i made a custom start where you would have a group with a few of the weapons and easy access to more somehow. id probably end up making a new faction for it and id want to include at least one basic armor set for them though, so it would require a lot more be added and id have to learn what buttons to hit to make it all work.
LordZile 8 Aug, 2020 @ 2:05pm
i rather like having them just auto added to the crafting list and not having to go looking for days and days on end hopping to get a drop in the right shop vender with all the damn vendor mods that are over lapping each other. its refreshing to see your mod thats easier with good weapons to choose from thanks
