I just wish one of these mods had colonial nations that conformed to the Colonial and Trade Regions mapmode. It's such a pain having to guess where exactly one colonial nation begins and where the other ends.

EU4 came out in 2013. This mod was only updated in 2014.

People asking for an update don't understand that if your capital is in a colonial region on any continent then you can't form colonies in any colonial region. This was changed a while ago now

I've been struggling with the problem when it forms a colony it won't take all of the provinces in the area, leaving behind a bunch of provinces that are colony in between provinces that aren't.

Ive got a question; Im currently experimenting with modding, but whenever I add a colonial region the name in-game literally becomes: "COLONIAL_INDIA_Root_GetAdjective_India" (without the inverted commas) even though that shouldnt happen. What am I doing wrong?

With the update coming up that lets you use custom nations in an empty world, I thought it would be a good idea to make a mod for the game that puts colonial zones on the whole map, along with a new trade network to be more friendly to players who're playing outside of Europe.

Agree Koro - refusing to update now - sticking with 1.7 - picked two fav mods and modded my own - now happily playing EU4 with no distrubtions - I always play with the extended timeline and have lost games which have taken ages (Pics 51BC - 1900s etc) between patches!!!

To be fair, I suspect this mod would need an update even without the new compatability test, due to the large amount of added provinces in Art of War. I really hope this gets updated soon though, I hate playing without it.

As you may have noticed, since the 1.8 patch, Paradox has added an artificial incompatibility "test". This is probably another step in the Holy War Paradox declared on the goold old Nords. Since there is no "1.8 and below" option, old mods like Colonial World may never be usable again unless you fix them yourself. I don't know about you, but I'm really pissed that I can't play 90% of the mods I have right now. Just because. And as a modder, this also means I will have to spend a long time editing, loading, managing, crashing, restarting, editing the description, changing to visible. On top of that my subscribers start asking me non-stop to update when I have an actual life that's pretty demanding by itself.

To counter this, I have decided to be a disruptive little man and start sort of a revolution. Do not update your mod. Instead, upload the files to dropbox or whatever, and post this message on the description, so everyone knows that everyone is pretty pissed about this.

im having a bit of a problem here... im playing as Japan and i managed to claim some provinces in northern africa, now i inherit the throne of northern africa every month. are you planning on fixing this?

I have the same issue as @Bob11. I'm in a war with Portugal and one of their colonies is Portuguese Maghreb. Every month it says that Portugal inherited their throne, then a few days later Maghreb is called into the war. There is no map change, as far as I can tell, but the game still lags immensily to inherit and recreate the colony every single month.

A fix of some-sort would be much appriciated.

Hey I wanted to ask your permission to use your assimilation event in my mod, "Colonialism Advanced." I have been asked my some of my subsribers to create such an event and I could rewrite the script myself although it would still be similar to yours. I would like to use your event "Assimilation" and list you as a contributer so that you gain credit where credit is do. Thanks again and great mod btw, actually your mod is what inspired me to put my own spin on things.

Thanks man! I am struggling to get the integration part working. So far, all I could do is make a decision that'd let the human player inherit a neighbooring colony, but the AI won't get use it.

I've been unable to code properly a condition where it'll inherit only the provinces adjacent to non-overseas nations owned by the colonial parent... I spent 5 hours trying to do it with provincial modifiers and events. All in vain. Did you manage to get that working properly?
