I stoped mod'ing around when I was getting overly ambitious trying to get more custom kaboom looking spells when my computer couldn't really handle it and figured it wasn’t wise to continue down that path. Furthermore, I'm not sure where I put my notes of what I thought was missing from the char. It'd be hard to pick up where I left off at this point.
Most of what I sought after I managed to complete so I can feel good about that.
On that note, in game the class is called Patient X while within the GUTS editor I called the class originally patient zero - so one of the data class files most likely should contain
Hum_Patient_Zero_M
Patient X

Hum_Patient_Zero_F

"I believe" but that's all a guess. Who knows what it's suppost to be >.>. I'd have to see an example of another mod'ed character.
It's possible a config file could be made that ignore the issues (a few not listed), and the editor would be limited by you the user knowing the correct inputs (ex: not entering values over skill caps), but I'm unsure if it would work and that config file would take a while to set up. I really don't want to invest a few hours trying to get it to work when I'm fairly certain it wouldn't.
Furthermore, even if it is possible to make these config files I know my limits and I’m certain I’d goof something up and never notice what I did wrong making the effort futile. It has been like a year since I've done anything with the mod file / Guts editor. It took me like 5 min just to figure out how to load up Patient X into it >.>.
Sorry,
could be worse though right :D.
I wasn't familiar with the Rapid Respec program so I checked it out >.<. My best guess is that my patient x mod alters the user interface in game so much that isn't recognized by Rapid R tool. For instance my Patient X characters have 4 skill tabs not 3 and those skills were massively edited.
With that said, I think I used the mod called SynergiesMod for respec'ing skills (by purchasing a potion). Other mods are out there for attribute stat points (again by purchasing a potion). Unfortunately I’m unaware of any mod to modify the aesthetics to Patient X mod characters, but I haven't exactly looked either.
@Isuebin Bummer to hear about the crashes. I went at great lenghs to get the mod friendly to other classes and other mods (re-wrote a metric shit ton of the original mod the best I could because the new hero class corrupted like every other hero class). It's possible I missed a thing or two along the way. :( To find the mistake it'd probably take a very long time especially being I haven't used "guts" (the mod program) in like a year.
gasp, been forever since i checked back here :D.
Not too sure what the gear is. It has been forver since I played it.
Glad you enjoy the mod. Hope it isn't too taxing on your comp, there's so much going on and really drives my fps down. That's really the one issue I had with it. I was curious at the time if reducing all the dmg and health of enemies by a factor of 1,000 would help at all (make it less cpu intensive). Wasn't sure though and it'd takea long tiem to rebalance everything.
As far as I know, you click green subscribe button. Moments later it'll say subscribed. Start TL2 through steam. When the first loading screen pops up click the play button with the cog wheel ( > + * not just the >).
This will bring you to the mod launcher screen. Put the check mark on patient x v2.0 located off to the left side of the launcher window. On the right side of the screen you should see a list of mods that will be used during this session(same ones you put a check mark on). Make sure Patient X v2.0 is on top of the list unless you're sure you want it "lower priority" for whatever reason.
All of the skills provided at level one I'd say are the core. Buff yourself with healbot and flame aura. Shadow shot as the left click to generate mana/hp while blast cannon and/or arc beam for right click used as the primary damage skill. Savage rush is used for travel mostly but it does apply a significant armor debuff on enemies. Shadow burst for quick hp while storm burst for quick mana plus a physical damage reduction.
Personally my go to skill from there is tremor on cd (ofcourse only after obtaining 100%'ish crit from using arcbeam/shadowsot if I'm trying to maximize it) and also onslaught mostly as an opener into combat but can be fun to spam time to time on a big brute.
I tried to make all the skills viable/useful at any level. However, spider mines do loose their usefulness at higher levels. I couldnt' figure out how to properly clone all the steps.
TLDR: At lower level, Shadowshot + anything else you enjoy using. With the right gear at higher level, anythig you enjoy using >.>.
I now added slightly different Godzilla pots for levels 11-105 that you can buy from a vender (hopefully if I did it right). It also has a really low drop chance-hopefully.
Tested in game and Godzilla potions did show up in a ng+1 act 3 lvl 70 vender. Let me know if it doesn't show up for you.

I respect your opinion. Some games I don't want to progress too quickly or too easily. From what I see there's a number of new chars to choose from in the workshop plus the originals. That's a lot of content to play through. I basically allowed players to get the most out of the class for the time they play.
Was/is the level requirement of 30 enough for you to use them? Really don't want to go much lower than that :D.
i love this mod :)
With that said, toning down the character would defeat the purpose :D. If you like I can make a mod that increases the hp of everything by 300x and hits 100x harder. It'd only take a few min to make >.>. But that'd defeat the whole point of a casual epic experience I was going for. Not everyone wants to grind out hacking away at the same mob for hours. IMO TL2 doesn't have enough depth in the combat system to make that enjoyable. Boss fights it's okay though if it takes a while.
But yeah, semi goofy trees. I will agree to that. They are structured a little bit though(notice the names above). I group simluar behaving skills near eachother the best I could and than certain spells got replaced or modified a lot.
I could reorganize the trees more like the original chars where there's more flow to how things unlock. However, once you hit level 50 it's pretty much the same anyway; stuff seems to unlock all over the place at random times.
If I were to do something to the skll trees I would adress the fact so many things unlock at the same time. But than again, is that really such a big deal? I just wana f' shit up.

*** It is also highly recommended for proper experience to subscribe to "Synergies" since that's what I play with and balanced things to be casual without being a complete push over on "elite" difficulty. Other difficulties may seem extremely easy but still fun to play if you just want to pummel evil.
Place Synergies just below Patient X v2.0 unless you know of reasons not to >.<.
