PS: many units of Vanilla and 642 (and Rome2) are also historical nonsense. But who wants to play with accurate units and roosters?
The only possibility would be to dublicate all infantry units the muslims are using. But this would be necessary also for the startposition units (units on map after start). And any new unit needs many links, f.g. hundreds in the garrison tables if garrison unit.
In other words, it is a basic problem and not directly stuff of a reskin. And it has nothing to do with research.
