When exactly does it start? During loading of the campaign?

Do you have any other mods enabled?
Have you edited the mod in any way?
The Perfect Dicktwister :) 22 Oct @ 10:29pm
game crashes when i start a new FOTS campaign :<
Jiruri  [author] 9 Oct @ 8:09pm
Sorry Pakachu, I missed your last message.

I don't believe it's possible to edit maps from other mods without the 3d map file. And I don't have the original anymore. I've rebuilt te map from the ground up including new specialty regions in my next version. Which I'm still working on :)

@ Wheezy98, it very much depends on what you're referring to. If you're talking about a unit pack, I think it should work as is. If it's the whole overhaul, I don't think they're compatible. If it's the buildings pack... it should work, unless it adds in start province buildings.

Startpos (The file that contains the starting situation of all clans) can't be modded to be compatible with another startpos. So any mod that adds a new startpos is incompatible with mine. Mods that add things (events, traits, units, buildings, etc) are usually compatible, as long as they don't change the keys of the original buildings and units.

What would i need to change in radious to get this to work with the radious pack, Sick mid btw
PAKACHU 6 Sep @ 11:02pm
thx for reply. is there a way for me to modify your map using 3DS MAX? and I can extract the esf file from your mod, and i can do with BoB but I have no idea :( i wanna try to add some speciality provinces
Jiruri  [author] 6 Sep @ 4:27pm
Thanks pakachu, and some modding is possible, but when wanting to edit the map... a lot of things get iffy and difficult. What is it that you want to change? :)
PAKACHU 6 Sep @ 12:55am
hugeee respects to you. I wanted to modify this mod, so I read the post by "uanime5" and managed to edit the map using 3DS MAX 2010. However, I failed to load the fots map, and I need a lot more information... Sorry, but if possible, is there a way for me to edit your mod?
Jiruri  [author] 29 Aug @ 4:20am
Sorry for the late reply, Mania. :KneelingBow: I don't know of any mods that split the map in 2 factions. Sorry!
Mania 21 Aug @ 7:36am
Hello, is there a submod that splits the map in only two factions?
Jiruri  [author] 6 Aug @ 12:43pm
@Doyen! I appreciate the comment! The game is one of my favorites and modding it has always been a pleasure. Haven't gotten around much to work on the latest version. But I appreciate the support for this version. Thank you :KneelingBow:
Doyen 5 Aug @ 10:32pm
Just wanted to say huge respects to continuing to provide support for the comments for an old mod for an old game, hope you're doing well man

Hi Spyflander, I think the outdated sign doesn't matter. Recent updates to the game were about the use of the TW launcher and the engine behind the game. Not to how the data is used or what data the game uses. So as far as I understand, most, if not all mods, will function just fine :lunar2019grinningpig:
Spyflander 21 Jul @ 11:11am
Hi, i played Shogun 2: Fall of the Samurai a few years ago. Now I want to try with mods again. But every mod I try is listed as outdated in the Total War Launcher. Do they all work? The Lost Domains mod seems to work. New province names are at least displayed. I just started it briefly to test it.
zander86 12 Jul @ 4:13am
please update
Jiruri  [author] 11 Jun @ 5:20pm
Awesome! I'm glad that fixed it. Thanks for letting me know it worked out and have fun playing Clovis :KneelingBow:
Clovis Kai 11 Jun @ 4:41pm
Alrighty! The user script suggestion fixed it, ran with your mods only and names showed up, brought out the other mods and loaded my previous game and the names are showing. Thanks again for the help!
Jiruri  [author] 11 Jun @ 4:09pm
Then I have no clue what's happening Clovis.

There are a couple of troubleshooting options you can try:
Go to to the appdata folder of FOTS. (Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Shogun2\scripts)
Delete the user.script.txt file if there is any, and try starting the game with only my mod again.
This has worked for some people in the past, and doesn't take too much time or effort.

If that doesn't work, delete all of the game, both in the folder just mentioned, as the whole installation folder. Reinstall a fresh copy and try a vanilla boot. If it works as intended, restart after activating this mod and see if it works. Takes more effort, but the most thorough possible fix you can try.

Other than that, I don't know what advice to give. I've never encountered the issue myself.
Clovis Kai 11 Jun @ 3:00pm
I ran the game with just the lost domain mod and the clan prestige mod, the map still loaded up with the names missing.
Jiruri  [author] 11 Jun @ 1:12pm
Could you, just for the hell of it, try to start my mod without having any of the other mods active? This way we can check whether it's an issue with my mod, or a compatibility issue with the other mods. It might very well be that the other mods also change localization, and therefore the conflict in localization causes the names not to be loaded.
Clovis Kai 11 Jun @ 1:10pm
A few, Darthmod, FoTS Building a nation, Better clan traits, Strongholds of the Samurai 1-5, as well as your clan prestige mod, I also moved clan prestige and domains mod above Darthmod but still no luck on displaying names, the mod does run though just no names.
Jiruri  [author] 11 Jun @ 10:18am
Hi Clovis, that's a surprise! Are you using any other mods perchance?
Clovis Kai 11 Jun @ 8:24am
Hello Jiruri, I recently downloaded the mod and I am also getting the glitch where there are no names on the new provinces, my language is set to English, I am in the US so localization is set to English as well, any advice on how to fix.
Jiruri  [author] 13 May @ 5:56am
Sure thing! Let me know if you're able to solve it. If not, we can take a look at some other possible issues.
Leonard 13 May @ 5:35am
Hey Jiruri. Cheers for the tip. Will try that now.
Jiruri  [author] 13 May @ 4:37am
Hi Leonard, when was the last time you played the game? How long has it been installed? If you go to AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Shogun2\scripts and you have the user.script.txt there, try deleting it.

As far as I know, the mod should work just fine and be playable.
Leonard 13 May @ 2:11am
Heya. Has this broken since the latest CA update? When i sub to the mod it instantly downloads/doesn't seem to download anything and when i boot up the game with it switched on in the mod loader, its just the vanilla game. Cheers for any help.
Jiruri  [author] 24 Apr @ 4:23am
@Eskimozart, generally that's a problem of localization. My mod is set to English only. So any other language will cause all of the modded part (the city names) to disappear. Changing the game language to English will fix it.
Eskimozart 23 Apr @ 10:53am
Hello, could you please help me, the new citys dont have names, does anyone knows what iam doin wrong? cheers
Jiruri  [author] 19 Apr @ 4:37pm
@ Zembaza, I have carefully looked at historic allegiances for the next version of the mod with more domains. Historically, at the start of the game, many clans supported the Shogun. But many changed their minds quickly after the first confrontation in the Boshin War. Even the Shogun himself surrendered himself to Imperial Command pretty soon. A lot of the fighting happened after that moment. I'm not sure how to present this in the game, however. It's still in development, so I'll do extensive testing for balance.

@Gutz, I'm not sure. When that issue happened with me, it was because I had the game installed since before the big update in May 2023. It changed how it loads mods. You could try to delete the scripts file in the appdata folder if you still have it. That was the issue I had after that update.
Jiruri  [author] 19 Apr @ 4:37pm
@Skaeger, thanks! You could try to mod some values yourself. Try to give the AI a higher passive income, or higher morale, something like that. You could also look for a difficulty mod, but I wouldn't know what to recommend because I usually make a custom difficulty for my own campaigns when I play :)

@ Gray, thank you! And I agree, would be cool to have a super long timeframe in which you go from Sengoku Jidai, to maybe post-colonization of Korea. Hard to make a functioning mod of, since it would take a long time and a lot of work. But thinking of possible concepts is always cool.
Gutz 16 Apr @ 10:34pm
So my game is crashing in the loading screen, not sure if it needs to be updated or?
Zembaza 16 Apr @ 4:27pm
I like this mod. Are you going to add more regions for the imperial starting factions?
Gray 7 Apr @ 1:26am
Ohhh expanded japan for fots, looks amazing ,shame it can't be played together with expanded japan but if you extend both timelines , you'll probably achieve one of the most successful mods ever created for Shogun 2
Skaeger 14 Mar @ 4:14pm
I am also looking forward to updated version! I am delighted to see you are still working on it!

Also, does anyone know of any mods to increase difficulty that work well with the extra regions? I always find that the increased province density makes steamrolling easier.
Korthor 2 Feb @ 5:28pm
looking forward to it man
Jiruri  [author] 2 Feb @ 4:25pm
I'm sticking to historic domains as much as possible. (Due to the limited size of the map, I am not able to put all of them in even.) The domains, major and minor, will be as listed here:

https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E8%97%A9%E3%81%AE%E4%B8%80%E8%A6%A7

:KneelingBow:
Korthor 2 Feb @ 9:33am
Can to see all the minor clans we can play as. Kinda a meme but could you include the Shirakawa go region as a clan? It would be tiny though
Jiruri  [author] 2 Feb @ 3:29am
Hi FriesingCold :lunar2019grinningpig: I'm working on it daily nowadays, so the progress is going well! But I can't give an estimate on how long it will take. I'm thinking of opening a discord server to post progress and previews. But that won't be until maybe the start of Spring. :KneelingBow:
FriesingCold 1 Feb @ 7:22pm
How's the updated version coming along? :steamhappy:
Korthor 17 Jan @ 8:40am
going to send you a friend request
Korthor 15 Jan @ 9:45am
that would be awesome. i definitely appreciate all clans playable mods for this big map expansions
Jiruri  [author] 15 Jan @ 9:28am
Hi Yorokobe Shounen, in this mod, no, but I'm working on an updated version in which I try to recreate as accurately as possible all the different domains and clans in the game and where the goal is to make them all playable. :KneelingBow:
Korthor 15 Jan @ 6:50am
are there new clans? and if so can we please have a minor clans playable mod?
Jiruri  [author] 27 Dec, 2024 @ 3:29am
If you have the campaign map mod turned on, it will definitely cause a crash. They are different campaigns, but the modding happens to the same file.

I'm not familiar with the mod loader mod, doesn't the regular launcher's mod manager work fine?

The re-install, might have not deleted the scripts folder in Shogun's appdata folder. If it's there, please delete it.

:KneelingBow:
Hobojo1 26 Dec, 2024 @ 6:45pm
and a mod loader mod so that i can play the mods
Hobojo1 26 Dec, 2024 @ 6:44pm
recently re installed it and have a few other mods like strongholds of the samurai a range correction mod and a campaign map mod for base shogun 2
Jiruri  [author] 26 Dec, 2024 @ 10:28am
Hi Hoboji1, are you getting an error, or a straight crash?

Do you have any other mods turned on, and have you had the game installed for longer than a year and a half?
Hobojo1 25 Dec, 2024 @ 1:25pm
i cant seem to the the mod to work and i don't know how to fix it
Dxtsr 18 Nov, 2024 @ 6:47pm
