I require Lasaga
(while I'm wishing: some way to differentiate the stain drops on Minas head.)
(Even though I get that this mod is meant for no-touching-liquids runs.) never mind, that was all lies, just had å quick tryout. oof, so good when combined with "Roguelite Vision", bringing out the light effects and feelings of a dark cave. Killed by "Procedural projectiles"
vry c00l mod tho
I mostly said 8 bit in a non serious way in the description. I mean I think the way I wrote it makes that pretty obvious :p
It limits the color pallet to 8 colors of green and applies a shader that curves the screen and other crt effects, that is all it does. ^^
again i'm sorry but when i see stuff about a hobby or subject i know stuff about (or am interested in) i'll likely throw my 2 cents into it even though noone asked or cares.
yea sorry about that, when i see something about my hobbies i can get like that
originally i just wanted to say how using "8 bit" is not a good idea as it's not a good term to define something specific, but that quickly spiraled out...
though i'm confused by what you mean with "often wrong".
i did research on "monochrome" and the gameboy specifically so i know those parts are factually correct.
and i basically said that 8 bit has multiple defintions, which technically isn't wrong either...
maybe you mean not calling this 8 bit is wrong? which yea i can see that, it can be called "having 8 bit inspired graphic limits".
but that's only 1 out of 3 so i honestly don't know what you mean with "often"...
>Who are you to define what is '8 bit'
i never defined it as something (or tried to atleast)...
i only said it's a very loose term and therefore not useful to describe something specific.
@Evaisa
also kinda counts for you, 8 bit doesn't have to mean more than 8 shades of a color, it can mean many things. just stick to the term "Retro" not 8 bit.
>There are no such thing as shades of a colour on a monochrome display.
that is completely wrong though.
the literal defintion of monochrome is (wikipedia): "[...] is composed of one color. A monochromatic object or image reflects colors in shades of limited colors or hues."
the gameboy's screen is offically defined as a "monochromatic screen", again from wikipedia.
so i'm still correct in saying it's a monochrome shader roughly based on the monochrome display of the gameboy.
>Check things yourself before you correct other people.
same for you, i atleast google stuff before i comment :p
as said it's a very broad term, so it's impossible to use it to describe something specific like an art style or specific amount of colors...
and i see what you mean with parts it cannot effect, like the red eyes of the Hounds. kinda a shame to be honest that you cannot change everything.
it would fit more into "8 bit" if it would limit the colors/shades of the game instead of just coloring them.
for example the Gameboy also had a Monochrome display and only had 4 shades of green/gray to work with.
also the flickering is a bit stressful on the eyes
otherwise it's decnetly good Monochrome CRT Emulation.
