We don’t know when it will happen, as the Devs are mainly focusing on Ark 2. It will be a free update, and all save data will automatically carry over. I don’t really know any more information than that, unfortunately.

Thanks for the information, that's an interesting decision on their part! There are going to be a lot of broken servers about I think!

When is this change due to happen?

Ark I is being transported over to UE5, so mods that aren't updated after the switch won't work anymore. Ark II is already made for UE5.

I have not been following the recent developments, so I don't know the implications as yet. My understanding was that it would be a new Game Ark II that was being moved to UE5. I write the mods mostly for my own use, so it will depend on my interest in the new game.

Will this be updated to UE5 when ark changes to it?

Looks likely, if several people are seeing the same issue, I don't have the SDK installed at the moment, can't promise a quick investigation I am afraid.

Ark client version is now 349.14, the update came out September 6th. This was not long after a server update that added a new server launch argument: -imprintlimit=100

Based on my tests, using only this mod and AwesomeSpyglass! (so I could see taming progress and find out where they ran off to)

The Low Steal one steals up to 20 berries as normal but gains no taming progress (spawned using the command on this page)

The vanilla one steals the stack and gains taming progress (spawned using command on wiki page)

@Zephyr Was it a low-steal one you tamed?

I tamed one a few weeks ago, but have noticed now they do not gain any taming progress, I have several mods installed, but can try to test it with just this mod maybe tomorrow.

Try launching a standalone game with only this mod loaded, if it works add the others till it doesn't

If no one else is having this problem then I guess it must be one of those mods or some setting I have that is causing your pegos to not be tamable, though I can't imagine which one. None of the mods I am using seem in any way related to the pego. The only creature mods I have are your low steal pego and itchy.

I am not aware of there being any issues, nothing reported. Are you using any other mods?

I am unable to tame the pegos from this mod. I tried letting them steal mejoberries, meat, and prime meat, and nothing happened. Knockout taming doesn't work either.

The mod description suggests they should be tamable. Is there some trick to it? Is anyone else able to tame them?

This mod works great otherwise.

Today I found out that Eco has left the modding, because toxic people harass her day in and out with negativity about her mods and it has broken her. It makes me sad to hear and I hope she gets better soon.

I just wanted to say that me, my brother and nephew love and appreciate ALL the work you do for the modding community for Ark. I wish more people would tell all of you modders that what you are doing is great! And not complain and bitch about things you get for free.

I am so happy to tell you that I finally got around to troubleshooting this again, and have both mods working on the Island! I figured out that the other mods I had tried as a way to fix pego/itchy had residual files in my game saves. Once I deleted these files and readded your mods, they worked like a charm. I am happy it was just my game and not the mod, and also stoked that I got my first choice of pego/itchy fix mod! Again, thanks for these mods. Having them JUST steal food without negating their behavior completely really adds balance to these critters! :)

I have not tried cheat getallstate yet. I will do that when we try this one again, but I need to do some research first because I believe either one of my mods clashes with anything interacting with itchy/pego (for some reason), or it has to do with me being on a nondedicated server.


The only mod that works for me so far is the Anti-theft Backpack mod, but it doesn't allow for shirt skins, and breaks with my equipment. I unsubscribed and removed this mod from my load order when trying Low Steal Pego / Itchy, then the other mod (No More Theft).

By not working, I mean that after adding the mod to the game and wiping all dinos, pegos and itchys would steal from my character like the vanilla version. I know destroyallwilddinos worked, because I WATCHED as brontos disappeared in front of me when I used it.

Also, my companion could not load into my game when I switched to both your mod and the No More Theft mod I tried after it. Being as it happened in both cases, I don't think that issue has to do with your mods.

If you haven't tried the delete and re-download, I would! The install process with Ark is definitely flakey, If it corrupts or loses the files while copying them Mods definitely can end up dis-functional.

Thanks for looking into it for me. Since Ark can be very fragile and I didn't want to give the game an excuse to corrupt my world save file (again), I had another user try it on their computer. They got it to work just fine by running Low Steal Pego and Low Steal Itchy with no other mods.

I did destroy wild dinos and made sure that all new dinos had spawned in after adding this mod to the list, but it still wasn't working. Tried adjusting load order, and still no go. I think it may have not been compatible with a different mod in my list, though I'm not sure what since I had no active ones that had anything to do with pego/itchy.

I'm going to try a different pego/itchy mod I found first, and if that doesn't work I'll try again with this one. I really like the way you decided to balance these dinos by having them only steal food.

To clarify, the wipe is of WILD dinos it does not affect tames!

Note the comments above, this does not replace any dinos which have already spawned. To clear these out you need to wipe all the current dinos from the map. TO MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE DOING WITH THIS COMMAND, READ THE WIKI!

I have just tried this on a local game for me. It is still working.

I ran the local game with "-log" to show the console window while running.
Went to the host screen and selected "The Island" map.
Made sure this was the only mod in the active list (top)
Started the local game (local server)
Ran a wild dino wipe to erase all current dinos.
Waited a while until I could see that some dinos had spawned locally.
Executed the command: "cheat getallstate Pegomastax_Character_BP_C"
Checked the console and found several lines like this:

[2021.03.01-11.26.04:710][551]0) LowStealPegomastax_Character_BP_C /Game/Maps/TheIslandSubMaps/TheIsland.TheIsland:PersistentLevel.LowStealPegomastax_Character_BP_C_35

The LowStealPegomastax in the name shows that they are the substituted mod variety not the originals

I then found one (long search!) and walked up to it with a stack of meat, and checked that it only stole the limited amount each time (5)

Have you tried removing the mod content and restarting the download. Have you tried the mod standalone in a local game?

Was unable to get this or Low Steal Itchy to work through several attempts and tweaks to mod order. Bummer! It was a really great idea, and I think balances these dinos better instead of just making them stop stealing altogether.
