FYI: From my testing, this does seems to work in current version with the Spaced Out DLC active.

Hey, i dont know, havent a Look in the game files since years. But in the near future ill develope an Update and maybe another mod for switching other item ports

Sure. It seems this update broke a number of mods. Yours is currently marked as "out-of-date" and the game doesn't allow it to be activated.
I have some experience with Harmony 2.0 modding for other game, I'd be happy to help with the upgrade if you want to.

why not a free flip option with a button, similar to the rotate option?

Needed this, got confused my first play because I didn't pay enough attention and logically though, okay output on the bottom, input on the top... nope... like the dev that designed it that way needs to be slapped.
