@Ev9 if you go into map editor you can delete and remake NYC which fixes it
Ev9 16 Apr @ 10:20pm
New York City just doesn't grow.
Does anyone have any idea?

@Brady and @kotton
Did you go into your settings and activate ''experimental map size" ?

In the older version of this map (And many that use Huge maps) that was required... i assume the same still apply's.

You referenced the following mods:
Highly Recommend Mods
NEC Centenary
All Amtrak and CSX mods
Concrete Bridges
Underground Stations (Especially for New York)
Can you link each Steam Workshop item you referenced or make a mod list of the mods you recommend from the Steam Workshop? I’m trying to find all the mods you're talking about for a playthrough of your map. I’d also be curious if you use all the mods you recommended when you play through your own map. If so, what mods did you usually use for a playthrough of your map? If you are able to, could you link the full mod list of that too? Thanks

Awesome! Thank you!

Sure, no problem! Thanks for your added work!

Hi, @Captain_H. I've made a modified version of this map, adding towns, industries, and making tweaks here and there.

Would you be okay if I posted my version on Workshop as well? If so, what kind of credit would you like?
DOLECO 13 Feb, 2022 @ 12:34am
@Captain_H, I'm thoroughly enjoying this map. I am by no means an expert or organized TF2 player but it's fun trying to make NYC happen. https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2752169591

How do I load the mod?
SpeedyHawes  [author] 21 Feb, 2021 @ 12:31pm
You can do so by loading the map as a custom game and changing the date in the bottom right.

Thank you for your map had given me an incredible experience in running extremely complicated routes! Your map takes me back to New York!
BTW, map will be better if you can add a choice that the start year is like about 1940s, that is when the american passenger rail transit began to compete with air, and it is my dream to recreat the race and let the train beat the air this time LOL

I love the distances between towns on this one - hubs which are far away from each other with small towns inbetween. Just wish it was not Huge since that kills performance and makes loading times extremely long.. does anyone know more maps like this? I feel like ive tried most promising looking ones in the workshop but they all SUCK due to all towns being way too close to each other.

Absolutely amazing map! However by the 1970s i've noticed a bit of plateauing in growth and I can only hope for areas like Long Island and the inland to see a little more filling in with towns and businesses.

Having an absolute blast with this one! Thank you for your work! However, am having a small strange thing happen where NYC does not want to grow for some reason. Target pop is 550-600, but it's sitting stubbornly at 280. Haven't connected up the goods yet, but don't understand why it wouldn't grow to the target. All other cities are. So now manhattan has no high rises but brooklyn and jersey do, which feels odd. Any idea?

So many good associations with this map. I grew up seeing trains on the old Reading Railroad line in PA and later on had good journeys on Amtrak between Cleveland and Chicago. Thanks Captain Hawes for doing what you do. I've been loving Confluence also. The midwest is perfect for trains.

TheBoogeyMan 30 Jun, 2020 @ 3:41pm

SpeedyHawes  [author] 30 Jun, 2020 @ 10:53am

Your Marias Pass map was the most wonderful experience I've had in TF2. I get home tomorrow from our first camping run this season, and now have this one at the top of my list. Thank you for your time!!
