how you make working lava

For some unknown reason this is the only stage from my knowing that Muno Steve's blocks don't break.

I'm not sure what properties this level has that would do that, may it just be that the blocks lag my game idk

Ah, cheers! the stage is meant to emulate a bit those hectic Smash stages with haphazardous design, so I can understand that its a bit awkward lol. Either way, I'm glad you liked it!

great stage but a bit akward to play on in aether mode!

me and my friends really had a hard time just fighting on this stage in general

Alright, there we go! No need to thank me; someone else would've pointed it out eventually. The only minor issue right now is the fire GFX when someone is hit being misplaced, but that's it. Now the lava works as it should, more or less.

Oh wait sure why didn't I think of that lol, just gotta extend the solid ground parts below the lava. Thanks again dude, the changes are already up.

Alright, thanks for looking into it. Unfortunately, even with the latest update, you can now "stall" under the lava by using the ground above as the ceiling so you never get out of there. Well, "never" until you take so much damage that you lose control and can't predict where you'll go next and end up getting out of there, I suppose.

The main problem with the lava, I think, is that it ignores invincibility frames. If you parry something like the hitbox from the lava blocks (interesting way to get parry invincibility frames, by the way), you can go down there and you'll only take damage when those frames run out. I don't know if you can make it so the hitboxes for the lava don't ignore i frames, though.

A temporary workaround for the "swimming in the lava" issue is to just add collisions that go all the way down, preventing you from going under the stage. It'll look a little weird if the player ever finds out how the lava works, but I'm no coder so I can't think of anything else.

Thanks for the input Stormghetti, I'll look into it!

You should add a second set of burning ground below the lava or something. Things such as air-dodging below the lava blocks at a diagonal angle to go below them, using Forsburn's Up-B, tanking damage with a move with armor such as Kragg's roll all let you go through the lava and hit the lower blastzone to kill yourself.

An interesting feature I thought about would be a way to let your opponent go through the lava if the kill screen effect is triggered, but with the way the stage is designed, it might make killing too easy.
