Fun to play - the music and legacy textures are great but it's way to short.
Would be cool for the secrets to work and to have more enemies.
It felt huge, so I increased the walking/combat speed to 130%
Also enabled the Dismemberment addon to get some gore into it.

:steamthumbsdown: It does not have the creature numbers.
It also doesn't have the secrets of the game it attempts to pay tribute.
It feels enormous, as though it is double the size it should be
(although this could be attributed to mapping software limitations).

Conversion feels unfinished as you can get stuck in the outdoor secret area as the secret door to it does't work.

I confirmed that this is just not beatable with Merciless Mod Hard difficulty, or at least to do so wouldn't be any fun. The last room before the suppressor was not doable: https://youtu.be/4xPV8nMkHyg

To be honest, I was disappointed by this map. It's far too easy with unnecessary explosive barrels everywhere, you can get stuck on a part of the map, and secrets were not implemented. I have no idea how much effort the porting takes, but the rest of the work felt unfinished.

It's cool to see E1M1 in VR, but as the map is now, it's pretty basic. It was a fine map.

I appricate you liked my port! You need to create soundevents for Hammer to see sound files. But it's still buggy i've added Doom OST with door sound effects but sometimes game doesn't plays it and sometimes do play it. And i used a Python script convert vmt files to vmat (I converted textures to VTF with VMT on VTFEdit). Then i edit textures one by one on Material Editor. It's really tricky to create something for Source 2. I've been working on SDK like 5 months. Valve will release docs soon, i'd say wait them, because there's literally nothing you can do except keep experimenting.

Hey BlackShadow I really like your port! I am wondering if you can by anychance give me a tip on how to add custom sounds to the half life alyx sdk? I noticed in your workshop file you used a file with an extension: .vsndevts_c within a folder called sound events. I put all my custom sounds in the sound folder and they show up in the asset browser but not in hammer. Just wondering what you did to get them to work??? Thanks!

Needs an env_combined_light_probe_volume encompassing the whole space, and some block light volumes above the indoors areas to stop light from coming in through the ceiling. Then it'll be perfect.

Weird. I put on the addon, then new game and addon maps and click it and put it on hard mode>Direct hand movement>Right hand

Infinite load screen happens when you try to load map through console or Hammer.

I have an infinite load screen, and when I close the game the Loading icon still stays, anyone else have this issue?

Problems like this should be expected when converting to proper source 2, but I very much look forward to playing it when it's all ironed out. Amazing conversion, though!

Maybe it was just us, but I didn't have that with any other map I tried.. I'll try sending you a screenshot next time I play.

Could be something you have locally but not properly compiled and added to workshop

Does it contain the secrets?
I think the enemies are too tough, even for highest difficulty.
Also, they shouldn't all have SMGs.
There should also be health and ammo pickups for pistol and shotgun.
Health pickups could work once you get the damage correct.
Perhaps you could replace the fire demons with grenade throwers, rather than using same for all of them.

OK but the enemies are way out of scale (too small) for the environments. I think they need to be scaled up to like 1.5 the size or something.
