That's what I figure. If such thing happens though, you should try making a guide for others to go about porting Quixel assets for themselves, obviously it'll attract less attention due to the 'effort' required but hey, then you're no longer liable.

@JustJacob Thank you for that information. I'm naively hoping they'll be sympathetic to those who simply want to use these assets non-commercially. If they do wish for these assets to no longer be available to the community they'll put out a cease and desist which will be swiftly carried out.

IIRC, all Quixel licenses disallow you from sharing, and thereby porting Megascan content. I'm no lawyer, but I'm fairly certain you can get in quite a bit of trouble for this.

Yeah, there is a bit of displacement/height mapping that they do. The actual meshes themselves are surprising very optimized.

No there is a path included in it, and I've made it match up exactly, and the models still aren't loading. That's my point.

sfm loads models differently by using the models' path within its own name, if the model was compiled with only its name without its path e.g quarry_01_model.mdl it wouldnt work, but if it was "quarry_pack/quarry_01_model.mdl" then it'd work cuz sfm now has a source, its picky af. having models/ also doesnt work, its always the path after the models/ that needs to be included in the $modelname so my assumption is that youd literally need to recompile each of the models with their $modelname featuring the path

Then I can't figure out what's going wrong. The materials and models are in the right place, they follow the vmt filepath exactly, and considering they spawn in gmod, we've seen the models and textures themselves work in the Source engine.

But they're not showing up in SFM, for some reason.

You know these would be easy to convert to SFM if the diffuse, normals and speculars weren't all named the same thing, and thus the model fails to load any textures.
