Thank you for your mods and keeping comments open despite the spite (pun intended)!
A RimNausicaa run wouldn't be the same without your fox squirrel.

Ah, fair enough lol. Have a good day
Erin  [author] 4 Aug @ 2:19am
Y'all weren't seeing the comments I had to keep deleting :)
TwoBitSprite 3 Aug @ 9:15pm
Nor did i mean to, i was just explaining to Toyota what i did to make it easier for them. Sorry if we at all came across that way. I thought ti was good practice in learning how mods work, and wanted to share what i'd tried.

Thank you for the update, and know that i greatly appreciate you and look forward to trying your biome mod when i start adding more biomes to my game.
Toyota AE86 3 Aug @ 5:29pm
Thank you for the update, though please don't misunderstand people willing to locally fix mods as "bullying" you into updating. That was certainly not my intention, and if it ever came across that way then I apologize.
shakeyourbunny 3 Aug @ 10:07am
No biggie, I'm very grateful for your mods. I do know that for myself, that this is a hobby fueled by passion for it. Have a nice day!
Erin  [author] 3 Aug @ 7:39am
Just know that, while a simple change, the one included with outland toxic forest is much better and of a higher quality.

Please don't bully me into updating my mods. I do this as a hobby, and a passion.

Don't ruin that passion.
Chocolate Pie Kitten 3 Aug @ 6:08am
Thank you Erin

Thank you very much!

There.

It's 1.6 now.
shakeyourbunny 2 Aug @ 11:53pm
Would very appreciate if that gets wrapped up into an update.

Have a nice weekend, Erin.

Fine ill do it myself.

Give me a few hours. I'm stuck at work.
Toyota AE86 28 Jul @ 5:01am
Awesome, thank you

@Toyota AE86

I mostly just did what Erin suggested, plus an addition or two that i felt fit(namely the ability to train comforting). First i copied the whole mod folder into my local mods folder, and changed the package id so Rimsort wouldn't complain about duplicate package ID, then I copied the 1.5 folder, renamed it 1.6 and added the 1.6 tag to the about.xml

Then i went in, changed <wildness> to <Wildness> and moved it to <statBases> from <race>. Finally, since i own the Odyssey DLC, i checked what the code was needed for training animals to comfort(nuzzle) colonists, and added that to the <races> block. I thought about adding attackTarget training, but i dont generally use them as attack dogs, and more as comfort pets for my colonists, so for now just Comfort training.
It seems to work fine, no errors i've seen, though i havent tested the built in patches, of which i only have one, A Dog Said... so i've no idea if that has any issues or not yet.

Hey @TwoBitSprite, did you manage to get this working on 1.6 without the Outland mod? Could you outline what you did?
TwoBitSprite 14 Jul @ 11:03pm
@Erin
Thanks a bunch I will see if i can patch it and just keep the patched version as a local mod. I appreciate the work you've done on this and will likely check the new biome out when i go a bit more crazy with my mods :)
Erin  [author] 13 Jul @ 8:43am
@TwoBitSprite
- no it wont, technically its a very very simple fix to get it working. The <wildness> tag changed to <Wildness> and moved from <race> to <statBases>

If you do that they'll work
TwoBitSprite 13 Jul @ 8:23am
Will this not get an update then i take it? I've been hoping for it on a run im doing without extra biomes, so that will be unfortunate if so, but understandable if you don't want the extra work.
sirduck 12 Jul @ 5:15am
whhhat good to know \o/
Erin  [author] 12 Jul @ 5:14am
@sirduck
- Fox Squirrel is in Outland toxic forest now
sirduck 12 Jul @ 5:00am
when you update the 1.6 please me ping \o/ thx
Erin  [author] 5 Jun @ 12:28am
@Beatrix
- Me and Neronix made a toxic biome based off the Naussica one and they did make Ohms :)
Beatrix 4 Jun @ 5:36pm
Do you plan at making mods for other Ghibli creatures? I would love to see the Ohm as a threat in response to Biotech overpollution.
Erin  [author] 8 Dec, 2024 @ 11:55pm
@Darky xD
- I've been busy and the mod works perfectly fine on 1.5 without an update. 1.5 didn't change animals. No, I didn't forget. It's called Life Happens.
Darky xD 8 Dec, 2024 @ 12:04pm
@Erin *8 months later* ... :'(
Comito 18 Apr, 2024 @ 10:43am

Oh yeah. I'll do it when I get a moment.
Comito 18 Apr, 2024 @ 8:26am
Any chance of a 1.5 update? Always loved these little guys!
Erin  [author] 28 Nov, 2023 @ 11:31pm
@moss
- I will be doing after christmas, but check out Outland Toxic Forest :) It's a Nausicaa inspired biome me and Neronix made.
moss 28 Nov, 2023 @ 8:12pm
I would love to see more nausicaa or even just ghibli inspired mods!! do you do commissions?
KingsMan_ 19 Sep, 2023 @ 8:32am
I can't believe I finally found this mod!
Erin  [author] 16 Feb, 2023 @ 2:06am
Yes they bite, no they don't hiss.
Tenchi 15 Feb, 2023 @ 1:22pm

Lt. Robert Coleman 16 Mar, 2022 @ 2:37am
Perfect. I know Count Cornbread of The valley of the wind dosent sound as good, and commits significantly more warcrimes, but the squirrels will fit right in. Now can i arm them with bazookas? strap dynamite on em?
Ayna 10 Mar, 2022 @ 10:59pm
You should do Deerfox from the animated show Hilda. https://non-aliencreatures.fandom.com/wiki/Deerfox

chill1ray 10 Jun, 2021 @ 4:39pm
Damn my memory is so shot !!!! I should have remembered that !!! I have seen both !!!
Erin  [author] 10 Jun, 2021 @ 3:08am
@chill1ray - Bruh. Fox Squirrels are from Ghibli movies. These little guys came at least 10 years BEFORE Pokemon was even a thing, lol. :)
TwoBitSprite 10 Jun, 2021 @ 2:20am
@chill1ray foxsquirrels and miyazaki/ghibli movies predate pokemon by a good many years.., at least 12 for Nausicaa,10 for Castle in the Sky
chill1ray 10 Jun, 2021 @ 12:15am
looks cool but pokeman wants their evee back
Erin  [author] 28 May, 2021 @ 2:36pm
Yeah they spawn in the wild, they're just a little rare. :)
TwoBitSprite 28 May, 2021 @ 4:01am
Instant sub for me :) Love castle in the sky as well as Nausicaa. Will they eventually show up if added to a save?
Erin  [author] 14 Jan, 2021 @ 2:22am
@Soaryne apparently they're already patched for CE.
Soaryne 13 Jan, 2021 @ 5:54pm
Any plans for Combat Extended and/or Animal Gear compatibility?
