The effect super laggy and totally obscures the unit using it, but more importantly it digs entirely too fast! It frequently only takes a few seconds on mining mode for the brain to just dig straight out of the map, and the actual path that's been dug is a fractured untraversable mess that basically renders a map kinda hideously unuseable.
A similar thing could be said of the weapons and such too tbh, being able to shoot dudes *though* my bases walls with basically everything in the arsenal kinda negates the challenges of base design right there. I dig the aesthetics and sounds and such! I hope this doesn't sound too negative I honestly love so much of the work you've put into this, the whole vibe feels like an updated take on old 90s lego space sets and it's rad. Just, ya know, turn the throttle down a bit! bring all those dials down from 11 and reel it all in to a more reasonable level.
