I've had this mod for ages, and i've been getting more fines recently, but there also seems to be more police around. I've heard it claimed that police cars are relatively rare compared to other vehicles, but in certain parts of the map they're everywhere and follow you around. Is the mod still working? I'm not sure because the police are omnipresent.

I drove into Poland with a scandinavian double trailer and suddently I got a fine for illegal trailer use every milisecond. I now have a debt of 2M euro

@Shazen Indeed, that's one great way to look at it to prevent sudden stops which hinder traffic and may cause accidents, I definitely didn't know it was like this in Austria. It's not implementable in the mod, but I think it's implementable in the traffic laws! :)

Well, in Austria there are laws against that kind of phishing. The idea is, that a person is not supposed to do an emergency brake and possibly cause an accident just because of what is basically a safety feature. So, you get a bit of leeway after the speed has dropped - I think it's 50m in the city and 150m outside the city. The police is not allowed to fine people inside those protected areas. I honestly thought that's the way everywhere in europe because it just makes sense. But I've already heard from people from germany that it's not the case as well. Well, you may dismiss my request.

@Shazen AFAIK and in my experience (IRL), as soon as you pass the traffic sign that forbids any speed over X, police, speed cameras and anyone who is able to fine you for going the speed limit can do it. Near where I live the highway is limited to 90, then there's a section limited to 70. Many times the police are on the bridge just above the 70 sign, using the radar gun and giving people fines. Maybe it depends on the agent, customs, country...?

@phantombandit: Definitely something to look into. Maybe I'll create a "Realistic Delivery Payoff" mod.

@Shazen that would require a complete overhaul of the game. Probabilities and fine values is a simple variable, what you are requesting would require modifying the games core files, which are probably encrypted anyway.

@Killin el MC Pirata how much are the traffic fines under this mod? I understand they are set to german traffic fines, however I am not familiar if germany has special fines for commercial vehicles. The reason I ask is you make so much money so fast in this game, a real life traffic fine is simply not going to be a deterrent when you make 50k in one delivery.

Hello, I love your mods. However, most thing I'm frustrated with the police is the fact they instantly fine you when the speed drops and they're nearby. In reality police won't fine you in that situation, especially when you're obviously slowing down. Would it be possible to implement that in your mod? Thank you in advance.

The fines are so cheap compared to the fines in the US (I use both of your mods).

It's also more realistic in the amount of the fines, at least according to German traffic laws.

@ dmansail: The fines are adjusted to the fines in Germany, as I decided to choose somewhere in Europe as a pattern for the fines.

@AsianViking: If there is a police car present, you will get fined for all the offenses (wrong way, using the hard shoulder, speeding, etc.) including red lights.
If there isn't a police car present, you won't get fined for that. I assume it works the same way in real life where you live, unless there is a "red light camera" present.

@Valentin: It still works with 1.45. Unless they change something about the files on the base game, it'll keep working
