@hehehemann I just uploaded a new version. This version takes out the prefab checking routine in the old deserializer. Now it runs pure just like the old Unlimited Trees mod deserializer. Please tell me if you encounter any issues. If trees are not visible, they are most likely below the terrain

A bit late but having played on this map for a good 500 hours already, I have to say I love it. Similar to Wolf I also drew inspiration from a real life city, just in my case Hong Kong and it fits perfectly.

Having detailed a thousand hours worth of big- and megacities, I really need to say that this small size will make a great little paradise.
It is in fact some kind of a challenge, yet, if you take inspiration from Venice, LA, or even Biloxi, or the Keys regarding the ~urban~ developmments, you will sure be able to create a gorgeus city.
Well, if you are in the NA style of cities and villages, though.
Also, due to the size and the lack of space for L.A. style suburbs -framerate friendly.

I went with the workshop thumbnail to look better over the in-game one. The workshop image will attract people to look at your map and once its in-game its only seen the one time when you choose the map. Its a trade off. I am not sure if you can have two different images.

Thank you for the advice! I see what you mean. But if I save it that way, it would look on here, but it would be stretched in the in-game preview. The window dimensions are different from the Workshop and in-game. So what should I do? It looks more professional on the Workshop, but then it looks bad to me in the game

Hello good sir, this is an incredible map!
The image editing is very well done. I too submit maps with pics and all, and you are miles (or many kilometers) ahead of me!
But I have one question for you my friend; How do you get the correct picture size for the Workshop thumbnail? The map preview (snapshot) is 644x360, but submitting it in that format leaves ugly black bars on the Workshop. How do you remedy this?

@Splogs - Thanks mate for the comments! Building space is smaller than the larger maps people are making. I did this on purpose, two reasons, I wanted to make this map really detailed and a larger map wouldnt have let me do this with all the rock/cliff work I put into this one and also because its a Island and wanted to encourage a different playstyle, think more like the hawaiian island of Oahu and how built up areas are.
I'm going to be starting on a new map soon, I'm between a couple of ideas but in the early stages :)

Got it working by disabling a few mods, looks great now!! Suspect it is one of the landscaping mods I had. I'll add in individually later and see which one affects the trees.

Ray - Hopefully David can chime in with the solution he found. I'm just not seeing that issue so I feel it could be either something not being activated or another mod you have interfering maybe.

Great map, but I have the same problem as David - no trees, Network Extensions is on and working as are all other subscriptions that I can see. I am a Cities newby and this is my first map subscription and any help appreciated.

ups, it doesn't work for me. Install all the plugins listed, the map loads but there are defects in the terrain, there are no trees. ?What I can be doing wrong?

this is the map I've always dreamed of. until the desire to play comes back just to see her. It certainly wasn't easy to create, such a masterpiece :D :D

The Island was originally the Mayotte Island just north of Madagascar but over time I changed things to make the map 'more buildable' for cities.
