That is definitely a vanilla thing. For years I didn't even realize I could see their starting traits and was always upset when I chose one "without" a trait, this was far before TTT.
I disabled it and it seems like all of the skill points applied to the mod's skill tree cannot be reapplied. Sucks because a relatively standardized skill tree for every faction is simply not appropriate, especially for barbarian factions. Maybe I am wrong and the mod just isn't designed for Empire Divided.
On top of this, many of the skills are broken. Skills meant to reduce corruption actually decrease my income. Upgrading the ability of spies to steal food actually results in the AI getting MORE food for that settlement. Many skills seeming to not work and taking my agent I have halfway across the map out of his deployed mode, resulting in missed bonuses for 10+ turns.
Mod is very broken!
My campaign crashes when its on after a few turns, but works fine when I remove the mod
