This mod crashes my game on starting a colony. I've narrowed it down to just this mod because it doesn't crash when I just disable this.

A vote for 1.5

Is your mod compatible with Animal Controls mod gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2426119067 ? Anyway, unfortunately this mod is not working for me - animals on my map just don't want to be tamed with kibbles. I believe I tried everything...

@cobaltwolf2002
It should work.
The only thing that wouldn't work well with this mod would be another mod that remove the vanilla food restriction menu and it would only prevent you to change which food you want to restrict.
Kudaria 4. nov. 2022 kl. 7:58
I use all the kibble which adds a meaty kibble and veggie kibble, would this mod work with that one? Would I need to add something to the xml tables?
Pipi 25. juni 2021 kl. 6:50
OK I LOVE YOU SORRY
noenear  [ophavsmand] 24. juni 2021 kl. 5:25
@Pipi
Open the vanilla food restiction menu then click "select food restriction" ( top-left in the screenshot )
Then select the TameRestriction rule, you can modify what allowed here.
Pipi 20. juni 2021 kl. 12:48
BUT WHERE IS IT? WHERE IS THE MENU? It doesn't make sense it's in vanilla menu because if I won't allow meat then it won't be allowed for my pawns to for cooking??
AmbiguousMonk 19. sep. 2020 kl. 10:01
I started a brand new game (using my current modlist) with three colonists, spawned a couple wargs and a bunch of meat with developer mode, and then watched Dub's Performance Analyzer to see if the stutter happens when the pawns start a training job

Turns out it does not happen under those conditions, so it's definitely something specific to my save file, but not my modlist. I have wargs, timberwolves, and horses (~10 in total) in my save though, so maybe it has something to do with multiple animals having different diet types?

@AmbiguousMonk
"I've also confirmed that the issue doesn't occur with a new game and only a few animals"
Can you elaborate more on this point? I'm not sure I understood it correctely.
It only occur with specific animal? which one? do these animal have the same diet type?
AmbiguousMonk 16. sep. 2020 kl. 17:04
I'm not using Rimthreaded. I do use quite a few other mods, but moving this mod (and it's dependency) to the top and bottom of my load order makes no difference. I've also confirmed that the issue doesn't occur with a new game and only a few animals, even with my current mod list, so it's not a mod conflict
noenear  [ophavsmand] 16. sep. 2020 kl. 10:22
@AmbiguousMonk
Never noticed a shutter, it's maybe a weird mod interaction.
I made this mod in a way to just use the vanilla food restriction menu, pawn rule remove it to add a custom one, I have no workaround for that one.
Maybe you can try to use mod that add more button to open the menu, it can maybe work depending on how pawn rule patched it.
the meme man 15. sep. 2020 kl. 10:52
@ambiguousMonk i havent seen any stutters,but i also am not taming animals very often, are you playing with rimthreaded? rimthreaded messes up a few i play with, like the quarry mod.
AmbiguousMonk 13. sep. 2020 kl. 17:12
I installed this mod and I've been looking at it with Dub's Performance Analyzer. It appears to be causing a very significant increase (from <20 ms to ~200 ms) in the JobGiver processing time for training tasks. Removing this mod, but otherwise keeping my modlist intact, removes the issue. This results in very brief, but consistent stutters whenever pawns start training tasks. I have not tested the performance with no other mods loaded. Obviously there will be a processing time increase due to an increased need to search for nonrestricted foods, but not to this degree. Has anyone else noticed similar stutters?
AmbiguousMonk 13. sep. 2020 kl. 15:06
Is there any known way to set the taming and training while still using Pawn Rules? I really want to use this mod, but I don't want to have to remove Pawn Rules just to do it
noenear  [ophavsmand] 6. sep. 2020 kl. 7:34
@Mean Green
Weird issue, you sure it come from this mod? If you remove it does it work fine?
Violence 31. aug. 2020 kl. 15:40
I'm experiencing a glitch where my handler pawn is stuck in an eternal loop trying to train timberwolves with nothing since we have no suitable food for them and he just won't give up.
noenear  [ophavsmand] 29. aug. 2020 kl. 13:33
@the meme man
you should remove the corpse in the restriction.
Not sure if it's disabled by defaut, will check it.
the meme man 29. aug. 2020 kl. 13:22
my colonists that are assigned to tame keep picking up corpses. so i just have someone walking around with over 200 pounds of animal corpses trying to tame my animals. i believe this is a problem with this mod, since i have no other mods that change hauling.
Tokido Saya 20. maj 2020 kl. 11:58
i see,thanks
noenear  [ophavsmand] 20. maj 2020 kl. 11:36
I'm not sure if Animal Food Restriction is just a normal restriction for animal, but if it's the case both restriction will be used. So with this mod, it mean only food that allowed in both restriction will be used for the taming or training.
Tokido Saya 19. maj 2020 kl. 6:19
wait i min.
i used Animal Food Restrictions,so is that if i install three of these mod i can totally block animal eating something without blocking tame and train?
(hmm,but i think it won't work,Animal Food Restrictions will overwrith((or cover?)) other two of mod)
noenear  [ophavsmand] 14. maj 2020 kl. 16:08
@Vlad_1492 I made another mod for that : Animals Don't Need Lavish Meal To Heal
Vlad_1492 13. maj 2020 kl. 3:06
How about tending injured animals? My pawns keep using my rare stuff to feed the mending critters.
lilwhitemouse 5. maj 2020 kl. 22:59
Also, thank you :) I should be able to load the mod now because it thinks it's okay for 1.1!
lilwhitemouse 5. maj 2020 kl. 22:52
Linux is case sensitive, so if it's named "about.xml" RimWorld doesn't think it has an About.xml....
noenear  [ophavsmand] 5. maj 2020 kl. 22:05
Okay I fixed the name, but what does it change to capitalize it?
lilwhitemouse 4. maj 2020 kl. 19:30
Hey, could you make sure your About.xml starts with a capital letter?

Vats 13. apr. 2020 kl. 3:29
Oh, this mod is after Pawn Rules in my modlist. Will try to place it above the Pawn Rules mod and see how it goes.
Thanks for the response. :3
noenear  [ophavsmand] 12. apr. 2020 kl. 18:29
@Vats I dont plan to make a better integration with Pawn Rules but except if Pawn Rules make some really deep change, the restriction should still work even if you can't change it, just put Tame With Kibble after Pawn Rules.
Vats 11. apr. 2020 kl. 8:09
In fact, the restriction doesn't seem to be respected even after modifying the restriction manually in the save.
Vats 11. apr. 2020 kl. 7:25
Hello there,
are there any plans to add integration with Pawn Rules? That mod hides the vanilla food restriction menu, so the rule created by this mod cannot be modified.
Think3r 8. apr. 2020 kl. 23:59
@noenear Maybe ask ignis for help? He's the author of Animals Logic .
noenear  [ophavsmand] 6. apr. 2020 kl. 12:05
@lilwhitemouse I'm not exactly sure it's 48 it's just from testing.

I didn't check the code in deep, but for most taming thing the code use the "ingestible" value of the animal, that probably the food amount needed to replenish your food bar from 0 to full.

When a pawn search a food stack for taming, I think he check for a stack that have an amount at least egal to the animal ingestible value, that would be approximately 48 for thrumbo.

If there a mod that correct that behaviour and those that follow it would be nice !

- When you queue taming between each tame your pawn won't check if he still have enougth food to tame the next animal.
-When you force tame and the pawn don't have enougth food in inventory, he only priotize to take food without priotizing the taming.
lilwhitemouse 5. apr. 2020 kl. 23:20
I made Restricted Storage partially to handle that problem @QraTz

Where in the game's code is the 48 specified, do you know?

But this is smething I have always found annoying, so I'm glad to see your mod!
QraTz 2. apr. 2020 kl. 15:50
This is fantastic. Does anyone know about a mod to restric animals food?? Because Im tired of having the unrestricted area doggo haulers eating my lavish meal
tilarium 2. apr. 2020 kl. 7:21
Thank you! This is one of the most annoying things in the game, pawns taking actual food needed by them to train the pet cat which we all know is impossible.
Think3r 2. apr. 2020 kl. 1:11
Great!
