Combine the gore and sounds, It's absolutely funny and can't take seriously which is a good thing XD
But; when part of the model gets culled by the ellipsoids, the model just looks hollow. So the game also uses "wound gibs" to cover the, would be, hole. There is nearly 100 of these. Fortunately, in Blender, I can open and edit all of them at the same time. I fit them to her body with Blenders proportional editing.
I even went as far as to write a Blender python script to generate accurate ellipsoid positions so that they line up perfectly with the "wound gibs".
The hard part was the Textures for the common infected. The «Infected» shader reads the textures in a very unconventional way. The color, for example, comes from the alpha channel which points to a separate pallet file. So I am limited to 256 colors for the common infected. The red, green, and blue channels are reserved for other fancy effects like dirt, blood, and eye glow.
Nice, actually.

Although I have no longer mod on L4D2 for 3 year and move to modding Civ 6 and Stellaris, but I still maintain some of L4D2 mod. To make sure if you mod is not stolen from the original one, you have to given a credits to original author of that mod, or have permission from the original author. If the mod have neither one of these requirement will need to remove.
