Generally, they are not. They are too slow and when a leg breaks off it's done. The only application I can think of is for assaults that have to be done in tight spaces or any indoor/underground area where flying is difficult and wheels are not an option. Even with that, drones will still be better. :steamfacepalm:

ive always wondered about the practical application of mechs with regards to warfare in space engineers. they're really not viable are they?
