Very unique and has few bugs (winning the World's Fair was a disappointment) but i was expecting more of the minerals that we see in the news such as nickel, cobalt, platinum, rhodium, palladium, lithium, gadolinium, praseodymium, cerium, samarium, lanthanum, and neodymium. Each mineral could have an associated refinement plant.
On the Social side there could be more investment in Wonders or Policies that modify morale and productivity (Fake News and other AI tailored to push propaganda)

This mod let me spend 110 of time and production to build the great library, then when I was done there was no library. It didn't give me the free tech either, and no it was not some other mod I was using, because I wasn't using any other mods. I've never been this disappointed with a modded game play experience in my life. At least the dozens of maps that never show up in the other maps menu don't waste so much of my time and energy. How can anyone actually be enjoying this mod?

I wanted to make a custom map using this retexture content provided here, but notice that the maps editor has no texture for these tiles so its very difficult to do blind. How did you make the mars maps? did you just make them without mod and then converted map into mod? please help sir developer

Went looking for a Mars map that was unique and different from the others.

Was not disappointed. 10/10

This might go without saying, but are you planning on making a Civ VI version of this?
Star-X 8 Mar, 2017 @ 2:07pm
Any chance of new maps in the same style as AC Planet and this mod i.e. reskinned terrain? I'd love to have a bunch of these to open up extreme planet variations that are still playable. Sorta like Beyond Earth's various skins, but not using that game's awful gameplay.

Is the majority of the terain desert? Maybe going to try to pair this with House Atreides?
SleepThief 19 Oct, 2016 @ 5:52am
I'm having some trouble with the map, at least that I've noticed when I played the scenario. All my unit menus are messed up, to the point where I can't click on the HUD elements to order them to do things, or simply don't the unit's menu at all and have to rely on what I can remember of the keyboard shortcuts. I am playing vanilla, so if that's an issue, then I simply won't be able to play with the mod because I can't afford the DLC.
Zavvnao 19 Sep, 2016 @ 6:06pm
I would like ot tlearn how to mod terrain myself because of this mod.
YaboiMuggy 16 Jun, 2016 @ 11:04am
When playing on the mars map, with only this mod enabled, every single time I cannot get social policies. I also lose every single game on turn 11 to a cultural victory, even with cultural victories disabled. why is it happening?
AtomicZoZo 18 Mar, 2016 @ 3:28pm
Is there a way to play these maps without all the starting buildings?
doushiakazuri 12 Feb, 2016 @ 9:06pm
I really want to play this map but it doesn't seem to be very freindly for people who want to start out prior to the industrial age. How do I get it so that all the players only start out with the generic palace, warrior, worker, and settler?
josek11000 8 Feb, 2016 @ 7:55pm
I started this mod and it ran nicely, but after declaring war to germany it slowed a lot and i had a lot of bugs with the units, is this because of the game or my pc? my pc is kinda shitty, but as i said, it runs vanilla civ nicely and i had o problem until declaring war.
Roberto 21 Dec, 2015 @ 6:05am
I dont normally do this but this map is great! ^^
Sailor Moon 7 Nov, 2015 @ 2:45pm
Its like civ BE, but fun.
Phat_Phuck 007 6 Nov, 2015 @ 10:27pm
regarding my earlier comment, i have found a workaround! but my comment this time is: did i just cheese my way to victory? i won culturally on turn 98, i chose futurism as my first policy, all i did was generate great people until i won, is this cheesy? also, is there a way i can disable this in the scnarios menu?

Phat_Phuck 007 6 Nov, 2015 @ 8:48pm
is there a direct download somewhere?

+1 Better Space-Civ-Game than the Beyond Earth Bollocks.

Can you please do this map for Beyond Earth? Preferrably a Terraformed version w/ water on it?

@Lone Wanderer 1. Mobility and Air are needed to dominate southern hemisphere. 2. Yes, this map demands wide over tall in the southern hemisphere. 3. The resource deposits are as planned; again wide over tall is recommended in southern hemisphere.

I cannot articulate how much I love this scenario/map, I've always thought getting trough the early eras can be kinda grindy when you've done it so many times, so starting in the industrial era with only one settler as opposed to the logistical nightmare you get when you start in Industrial era on Vanilla was great. Roleplaying in this map is great fun as well, inventing a story for how your civilization ended up on mars and why the technology isn't very advanced can be a lot of fun.

here are several problems with this mod I want to bring to your attention. Do get me wrong. It's a great mod (and one of the few map mods that actually work -_-) and I want to make it better.

1. The distance vast hill filled wasteland was exciting at first but quickly became tiring to traverse. The hill regions are just annoying to cross especially with infantry who can only move one tile at a time on this terrain.
2. The distance and scarcity between resources makes me have to go considerable distances to place worthwhile cities.
3. This issue is a big one and fairly easy fix though. I don't know if it was done on purpose or not but when you place strategic resources like iron, oil, or aluminum you also have to go to the edit plot in the map editor and decide how much of that resource is there. If you don't then only one of that resource is in each deposit.

Is there a way to convert this into a map for Beyond Earth?
Maximum Broly! 8 Oct, 2014 @ 12:40am
Will you be doing this for Beyond Earth?
Kinetic Energy Productions 28 Sep, 2014 @ 5:39am
I think more tools for such a mod based on moons will be more widely available, once or shortly after C:BE (Civilization: Beyond Earth) arrives. Until then, though, what tools and where can I get, so that I may use now? Thanks.
Kinetic Energy Productions 28 Sep, 2014 @ 5:37am
How to color the terrain? I also want to make mods based on this and further features, as I'd like to do mods based on the Solar System's moons of the planets. Thanks!
Hallowgram 17 Sep, 2014 @ 6:57pm
be on mars, build observatory
framedarchitecture  [author] 23 Aug, 2014 @ 8:44pm
@Ace_of_Tanks Technically, this mod does not alter other maps. The issue is that the terrains are kept in virtual memory for speedier access during the same game session.

In order to disable the terrain recolors in the same game session, simply disable this mod, then begin an unmodded game. The next modded game you begin will have restored the default terrain colors.
Nyx (She/Her) 23 Aug, 2014 @ 5:39pm
be aware that this mod alters terrain outside of it's maps.
Aurelius 25 Jul, 2014 @ 1:10pm
you need to do a terraformed verson

Hey, have their ever been issues with trying to load up a saved game using this map? I started a game last night using this map, two races I got as mods and a wonder I got as a mod. When I try to load it up tonight it keeps giving me a runtime error.
CamKev03 9 May, 2014 @ 5:06pm
i think its good for vanilla
cyrocatalystarts 30 Apr, 2014 @ 9:06am
Bit of a problem i cant see the terrain in world builder. It is list although i cant see the texture when i paint it on the map just a red and white grid appears instead of the texture
cyrocatalystarts 30 Apr, 2014 @ 6:55am
@framedarchitecture Hope you dont mind me asking how do you re colour textures for terrains i am think of re colouring a terrain myself for a map mod i am working on. If you dont wish to share your here email me at cyrocatalystarts@gmail.com
Dulcey 12 Mar, 2014 @ 11:19am
Love this! :happymeat: Works great on Vanilla. Tried it with a few other mods too and haven't had any problems yet. Having fun with this. Cheers!

Incredibly awesome mod, I love it so much, execpt...... no horses or iron or any of that. So I can't play during medieval times and such. Unrealistic, I know, but I just pretend Mars is livable and humanity started there instead..
Venusaisha 8 Jan, 2014 @ 9:40pm
works to me, i see no problem except it may clash with some mods(unkown) 8)
ASTROID2 31 Dec, 2013 @ 10:01pm
Great mod. Love it.

This scenario begins in the Modern age for BNW, GnK
LegatusFlagrans 31 Dec, 2013 @ 2:51pm
Er... Why does it start in the industrial age? By the time Mars is colonized, in a realistic sense, we would have all the tech in the game.
