Good question. I had made a similar mod for the Doll Race, but not for Skeletons.

Found and subscribed. I searched for B.A.R. and it popped right up.
I think a mod combining this with B.A.R.B.I.E. would make sense. The Institute would probably know about the B.A.R.B.I.E. project, and aiding BARBIEs in reproducing would be in line with their policies.

Save and reload. Sometimes Kenshi just does makes all the NPCs invisible. I'm reasonably sure its not my mod. They usually come back when you reload the game.

Gary, any settlements that you haven't been to yet? If there is a town that you haven't visited, I can plop a tech in that settlement and you won't need an import. I've decided to go with a tech in a bar instead of a custom settlement. In testing now.

No offence EuchreJack, but without the patch for the dolls race (or even an update as to your progress on it) I'm going to have to move on from this mod and uninstall. I like keeping my mod list trimmed, so unnecessary or unexciting/unfinished ones don't bog down my game. As much as the concept for this mod is a really good one, and I appreciate the effort you put into it. it's just not worth keeping for an extra shopping location, and a possible faction war with another minor faction. when unfortunately it doesn't work with my preferred play style.

please understand I wasn't expecting an over night mod for the dolls, and so I've kept the mod for about 3 months waiting for it, but it's been 2 months. maybe in the future I'll check it out again. until then good luck, have fun, and keep modding. the community needs more good mod makers.

Should it be random? Based upon your proposed method of reproduction, I would think that the doll created would match the doll parent. You would have to bring a different doll variant to act as a template for more. This brings up the question of whether or not the Institute would be able to replicate a doll type that was introduced to them, but was no longer around for some reason. Actually, it would make sense and be feasible that the Institute would be able to replicate a doll without it being present if they did multiple replications.
EXAMPLE: My mod mostly works by creating ally states via relation boosts in dialog, so adding +10 relations to Male Doll architects each time your Male Doll allows them to replicate him means that after 5 replications they become allied and can unlock the ability to create more Male Dolls without your Male Doll being present.

simple, scanning and printing. they take a scan of your doll. do a map of their AI core to formulate a consciousness for the new one, taking into consideration, height, weight, hair color, eye color, gender or gender-less sex, explain that it will take a few days to print out the new doll, and voilà you have yourself a bunch of pseudo replicants running around. just make sure it's ok with the original creator before you add them. some creators aren't keen on others altering or adding their stuff without permission. although, I'm pleased to say most modders are pretty chill, and nice to work with.

As a side note, it might be a bit tricky because the mod adds 3 distinct types of dolls, so you might have to figure out how to make it randomize which one of the doll types the process makes. either that or just go for the one that produces either Male/Female dolls, and not the one that makes the androgynous ones or Grievers.

Gary, any advice on how a Doll would have a child? I can certainly implement it, I'm just not sure how best to do so from a story perspective. Maybe long-lost tech unlocks the doll's ability to inseminate host humans via nanobots? (just a stab in the dark here)

think you could add the "Doll" race by Squamousness. it's a race that 's been available on steam for awhile, and I'm currently doing a story-lined play through with one. It would be nice to be able to let her have a child.

That would need to be patched in. Since Juggernauts don't exist in the version I was modding, they probably can't interact with the mod in any way.
Any races that you'd like to see patched along with the Juggernauts? While I can do a lot of copy-pasting, I basically have to implement each race one at a time.

My current theory on kenshi cross breeding is that the child is always one of the main races. There are no half-shek, half-greenlanders.
I bring this up because I'm still unsure what happens when parents are of different race. My originally theory was that Skek would be predominant, then Scorchlander, then Greenlander. But if Shek could reproduce reliably by breeding with other races, their overall strategy to deal with their population shortage would be...different. ;)
So that leads me to suspect that Shek are usually only produced by two Shek parents, and a human parent usually leads to a human.
As I think about, Holy Nation opinion towards Scorchlanders would lead me to think that Greenlanders predominate, Scorchlanders dominate over Shek genes, and Shek usually need two parents Shek to be Shek. With some random chance, so it doesn't always work that way.
...I obviously have to know whom begets whom before I can start modding.

Update: It is now possible to reset Dumpsterfire, making the process repeatable. Shek children are also now possible via the new character (usually on the second floor of the bar in Dumpsterfire).

I've created a new mod where you play a mysterious Earthling that finds they have superpowers on the moon of Kenshi, along with mechanics by which you can have hybrid children via an Incubator tech and find them scattered around Kenshi.

I tried fiddling around with spawning items via dialog, and dialog commands being restricted by item possession, and I was unsuccessful. I can't see a way of actually taking items away from the character via dialog either. Money is probably the best form of balance currently.

I'm wondering if its possible to create a campaign launched by The Institute that sends an Insemination Tech to the player's base, and a campaign by the Greenlander's Children that sends a squad of mostly recruitable characters to the player's base.

@EuchreJack that sims idea with an item sounds dope, if we can make items have ah decay timer of some sort, it would have to go by days or whatever, we could force spawn the baby item into ah child, ( we couldn't do animations on items, but can still hold ah baby model.)
but honestly, if we can limit the use of this idea being kid spam,to the balance game play with ah timer, this would be on point, but great job on these two mods none the less, people like ya'll keep games like these endless.

I'll have to review a mod that currently allows a building to generate characters. If one exists, I can certainly see what they're doing and emulate it. Let me know if you see one.

well why not make it a building like a farm or something like that but building wise then have them spawn like every 3-4 days or something like that and they start with all 1 stats i mean it just an idea but be full adults i know it sounds weird but you could call it a cloning vat like star wars in a way to where they come out fully grown but you need to train them

Found Child mod, should be able to create a new mod that bridges the two so that instead of having fully grown adults, you'll get children. They're cute (especially the hiver child), but not my ideal companions.

At this point, I can confirm that this is a one-time thing. It won't survive import currently, although I had the idea of allowing it to be repeatable.

I'm not sure currently how to implement this feature via a building.

I agree, make it its own building, like ah shack and make it compatible with the kid mod we got and boom, populating in Kenshi, Since they pop up, is their anyway to put the mod into say the bed, and let two people lay in said modded bed and make 1 character appear? cause with that, we can try making ah cooldown on spawning characters. I just wish we had an age mod for the kids to only grow up to adults and it just stops there at the age cycle.
