I guess it's to avoid clipping, the more complex a cloth, the harder you can make it fit to both bodies.

Regarding the size of the armor, we made it larger considering the difference in body shape due to gender and race and the interference of pants.

Beautiful armor.
However, I'm puzzled why there is a large empty space between layers? The outer layer is not touching the clothes from the inner layer in the shoulder, chest and arms area. This makes the character more voluminous than he actually should be.

If I may makea suggestion, the kanji behind seems too bright compared to the rest of the haori, apart from that it's perfect ^^
