Download the zip/rar file. Extract it to: Drive where game is stored/steam/steamlibrary/steamapps/Common/Transport Fever 2/mods

Mine says not installed but I have the above version. Deselect the red triangle [missing] version and enable the other. Will work then.

I have just loaded the game [after having to reload windows 10 and this game after SSD failure [so lost all my saved games too].
The 'smoke reduction' mod is not a necessity mod, so before launching the game, go into the mods section of the save and click on the 'name' above the mods and disable it on the right. Should work as it has for me. Just loaded it now and all is well.

Smoke Reduction mod is no longer available at 28th September 2021, therefore unable to load the savegame.

how do i get the smoke reduction?

You can remove the mod safely. :)

I am also getting the "invalid material type: TRANSPARENT" crash... All mods downloaded.

Vulkan can cause texture problems. Try it in openGL.

Can we not have 2 saves like the mainline? One from the very begining and one mid way? I cant start a game this far along and not know whats going on.

Looking forward to looking around this. Thanks for the above regarding the external mod. After installing the mod, I am just waiting for your last save game to load. I enjoy this game, but so far building a reasonable rail system has eluded me. Save games means I can 'play' with actually engineering a rail system
