I found it quite slow to start, guy on the right has it a lot easier (town where they can buy and sell grain straight to the town and same there's a town with coal). You get a huge initial boost like that.
Haven't tried making a map myself yet so I don't know what can/can't be changed but the 30k bond limit at the start seemed lower than normal. Makes things a bit slower to get going initially.
The rivers look like bombs have gone off in them.
Did enjoy the playing the map.
Some ideas for more balance:
- I noticed that the passenger regeneration rate is quite slow in the big cities. I don't know if this can be customized? In the main quest a new passenger is created within 10s in bigger cities while it was 45s on all cities in your map. I had a hard time to fully load my passenger lines and the start was very hard.
- one more wood somewhere could not be wrong
- there is only one cotton field in the whole map
But again: nice work. I will play it again.
Early money can be earned on grain, wood and coal mines. Then comes the trains.
The map was not quite easy at start. 50k was enough to build one passenger line. But early money I made on selling wood in West Plains. It's very easy to sell where you buy. The same can be done to grain in Springfield IL and coal in Paducah.
Additional or side goals can be added to diversify the gameplay on the map.
Anyway, good job! I'm glad that someone made a map so fast, considering that you've spent some time to make a land for it)
Next time, I think, I'll try to do it without a signle train. Let's see how much time it takes)
Should I set more goals to achieve?
Should it be easier or harder?
I spent all weekend making the map but have not played it yet...
