It is Croteam that should feel stupid. They created this whole mess by making a new version of Talos Principle that was not compatible with the large body of content in the workshop. Many people offered several better ways to handle this issue including releasing the new incompatible release with a different STEAMID so it could have it's own separate workshop to completely avoid the incompatibility issue. Others suggestions included making the new version backward compatible with existing workshop files. But Croteam did not listen to any of the great user feedback so this dual version workshop breaks most of the workshop unless you revert to the "Legacy" version of Talos. Even with the Legacy version it breaks again if non-legacy workshop items are subscribed to. (You get the Download error). It is a real mess all around.
From the Library/Talos Principle/Workshop page, look in the upper right hand corner and you will see a section labeled "Your Workshop Files" in that section click on the "Your Files" pulldown and select "Subscribed Items" Once that screen is displayed you can unsubscribe from broken items
if you know which subscribed item is broken, or "Unsubscribe from ALL" and then resubscribe to "Just 2 Buttons" and it will work for sure. The "Simple Demo", "Additional Laser Colors", and "Holy Days" are known broken items with the Legacy version.
Click on the Steam icon then, then click on the Library option. Use the main mouse button to select "The Talos Principle" game from the library choices, then click the Right mouse button on "The Talos Principle, and select the "Properties" item in the box that poped up. Across the top are tabs. One of them is labeled "Betas" Select that tab and then use the down arrow selector and pick "legacy - pre-se2017 build". This will cause steam to download a big file and will install the "Legacy" version of The Talos Principle. This "Legacy" version is what is required to run this game and a few other games in the workshop including "Only Puzzles 3" I hope this helps you to get things going. Best of Luck

Ну когда игра выходила она была на слуху.Так что тут дело не в рекламе, а просто в подходе к левел дизайну.Первое впечатление об игре вначале крайне обманчиво и нужно пройти хотя бы парочку уровней чтобы это понять(то есть когда в игре появляются новые механики помимо джаммеров) Плюс Croteam известна именно серией Сэма,поэтому я уверен, что когда люди слышат что та же студия сделала игру в стиле FPS Puzzle - это кажется странно.Да и вообще игра по началу странно воспринимается,зато потом....

Talos is pretty good game but fell for most people cos of poor presentation what game does on first levels,and cos of this not popular enough,unlike Portal.Also this game can be very brutal for most people,Some puzzle requare u basically brake the game! Or puzzle can be very tricky to understand and u can sit for hours scratching head,again not like Portal.But for this "honest" aprroach i love this game even more! And if we add to this gameplay very philosophical narative what u get is cult classic.

Well i really love Serious Sam games! I love them not cos of action(but action is pretty good in this games) but for design perspective and passion form developers team.
Long time ago then some of my friends play this game i cannot understand - why?Why u guys playing it and have so much fun?! After playing alone and with "my boyz" i fell in love with this games.SO yea then heared what Croteam made another new project in style of FPS PUZZLE genge - for me this sounded crazy.And playing for first time i dont really get far and was thinking what game was pretty mediocre.It is cos of really poor presentation on first level(intro level pretty much sucks in puzzle perspective).After severeal month i returned and well - what was alot of HOLY SHIT moments :)\
Проблема в том, что редактор исключительно "для своих", вот и модов не много. Плюс ко всему я об этой игре вообще узнал только спустя 5 лет. Сейчас считаю ее одной из топовых игр, которая дает одну из самых крутых штук: чувство полного контроля и вседозволенности, возможность проникнуть в недоступные места и пройти головоломку нестандартным способом.
Талос это вообще игра которой по идеи то и существовать не должно было.
Просто во время разработки Сэма 4 Croteam тестировала разные механики и одна их них(джамер) стала основой их новой идеи для игры.
На протяжении инескольких лет они работают на новой частью Сэма,поэтому их приоритет закончить ее(вроде в конце года она выходит) А Талос 2 подождет,куда торопиться,тут еще в первой то дофига есть чем заняться :-D
Давай давай! Надо больше золота! Всмысле... карт! Будут вопросы обращайся)
Главное супер не торопись,продумай мапу.А то тут некоторые люди быстро "орешки щелкают" :D
На самом деле я удивлен что в воркшопе так мало сделано карт для жтой замечательной игры.Они конечно все достаточно качественные,но все же.Так что будем исправлять,гляди народ проснеться и ваще заживем! С_С

Thank you for spending time playing my map! i Glad you enjoy it!
Working on this map for several days i just build good playfround with many different solutions,so for different person experience may be different.This map confusing enough by itself,so i dont wanna make it really hard and allowed some exploits to be made.But i block most of them(atleast i tried :D) Even add a replay button for people to try new stuff.
This map good for relaxing and just fucking around,even more after u beat it.
So try boot it time to time and "invent" new solutions.Maybe u can even find stuff(and hope u will)what even i cant predict! Do u know what this map can be cleared even waster whan barrymead did? :)\

I also want to thank you for the map. Lots of elements to work with. And as you note, this game lends itself to intended and sometimes much more 'creative' solutions.
My method of negating the red beam was completely different than barrymead. Same for the way I lit the blue receiver.
And I am still not sure if either solution was your design intended approach.
This aspect greatly amplifies the replay value of almost any of the original or the workshop maps.
Wow! Pretty impressive! 3 DAYS of work destroyed in several minutes :D
Its interesting to see other people playing you creations and how they come up with solutions.
Or how they make simple thing look harder and what you think is hard much simplier.
You know, when starting doing this, i was thinking what community of this game is close to dead,but glad was mistaken.
Maybe my work will inspire new people to try making custom maps for this game,because it deserve more.

По поводу редактора - на новой версии он есть,но он плохо работает с Воркшопом,поэтому говорят нужно "танцевать с буликами" чтобы выложить что то.Часть багов разрабы уже пофиксили,но так как они заняты SSM4,то фиксы в ближайшем будущем мы,думаю,вряд ли увидим.К тому же новая версия не работает со старыми картами( а большинство карт в Воркшопе как раз до 2017 года),так то Legacy пока единственный вариант поиграть нормально с кустомками.
