Can we change a damage?

hey there, love the mod, but dont see anything regarding hosters addinf to a server pack, would it be alright as long as proper credit is given in description and a readme in pack?

Yeah the penetration is also a factor in *lower* damage vs unarmored. A bullet that stops inside you is much more devastating than a bullet that passes through.
MikeVace 6 Aug, 2021 @ 10:58am
Yeah I know its a fat, slower bullet but the bullet is designed to be subsonic but still penetrate armor very well.

The 9x39 sp6 cartridge is capable of piercing 8 mm steel at 100 m, 6 mm steel or 2.8mm titatium or 30 layers of kevlar at 200 m, 2 mm steel at 500.

The “BP (AP)” bullet provides breaking through of a steel sheet with a thickness of 7 mm made of steel of grade St.3 at a distance of 100 m.

For comparison, 5.56 caliber m995 ammo penetrates 12mm of steel at 100m.

Dont get me wrong, the bullet balance is amazing (in my opinion) I just hope that the 9x39 at least has its penetrating abilities that it should have (I can understand the lower HP damage).
Not A Banana  [author] 6 Aug, 2021 @ 10:02am
It's slightly bigger but the energy in a 9x39 is only 30% that of the 7.62x39, and velocity is only about 40%
MikeVace 5 Aug, 2021 @ 1:18pm
Only thing i`d suggest is buffing the 9x39 Caliber, its a bigger bullet than the 7.62x39 so its been kinda nerfed way too much...
MikeVace 25 Jul, 2021 @ 11:09pm
Really cant understand delusional people sometimes, people complaining about 9mm being bad against armored players etc...since when regular fmj rounds of 9mm were any good against armor even in real life? Did anyone ever watched a video about different calibers vs armor? Some armors nowadays can even tank a 7.62×51 up close and you're whining about 9mm being bad against armor, 9mm wont even drop an un-armored person in 1 or 2 shots most of the time if it doesnt hit a vital area...quit being deluded this mod is amazing and makes the gun play make way more sense, especially the fact the 5.45, 5.56 and 7.62 had the same damage for some dumb reason and the 9x39 doing way too much dmg so this mod fixes it.

If BI developers had not been too lazy to use a multitude of available real world data ( One Example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_factor_(shooting_sports)#Examples_of_different_loads ) they might have had something more accurate for bullet damage.
Note in this example that a standard load .357 has less impact damage than a .45, but a magnum .357 does slightly more damage. It would then seem that the best way to account for this would be to take the weight and fps into account and give the .45 a higher impact/shock and the .357 a bit more HP.
Perhaps if the devs included a 'knock-back' factor, where an attacking player or Z would be knocked-back and stunned for a moment by a non-lethal hit from something with a heavy power factor... That first round from your .45 might not kill it, but by gosh it gives you a split second to squeeze off a couple more. That would be realistic.
Draugheru 14 Dec, 2020 @ 12:08pm
In real life a .357 is overkill against unarmored humans, it's a game round more then anything. A 9mm will drop a person in one shot no problem. To look at it simply if they wear body armor, bring a rifle, if they wear a plate carrier bring a rifle with AP ammo, otherwise you won't get past the armor.
✯ sp34gl3-3y3 13 Dec, 2020 @ 8:02pm
because they got nerfed with 1.00, for no reason. they had a place in CQB before, now they are just irrelevant. it takes like 10+ 9mm bullets to the chest to down a player with plate carrier.

as for 357, that is just the base damage. it has no penetration and low bullet velocity, so it could never rival a mosin. but it makes perfect sense for it to hit like a truck against unarmored targets up close. try standing after getting hit by a desert eagle IRL. and yes, the game aims to be realistic (hardcore survival on a mil sim foundation), so its a valid argument.

really bad try!
Not A Banana  [author] 13 Dec, 2020 @ 7:57pm
Why the fuck would 9mm and .45 get buffed lol

And of course .357 is nerfed, it does as much damage as a mosin in vanilla, are you high?

Really bad comment!
✯ sp34gl3-3y3 13 Dec, 2020 @ 12:05pm
9mm and .45 not buffed, .357 nerfed even tho it's a strong caliber.
9x39 nerfed into uselessness.

really bad mod!

Hello!! I loved your idea, even because it is something "simple", but fundamental since when the damage system is unbalanced that it is irritating! I tried to run it on a server with the last update (1.10), but I couldn't get it to work. Do you plan to release a new update and make it compatible with the new bullets (338, 408, ...)? Once again, thanks for your effort!
Draugheru 12 May, 2020 @ 2:29pm
I would think a .22 rifle (longer barrel) should drop one with a head shot at close range, so maybe two shots from a pistol.
Derleth 25 Feb, 2020 @ 6:19am
Looks good, although I was kinda hoping you included a small buff to .22 so it can oneshot zeds with a headshot again, at least at close range. It pisses me off to no end that putting a .22 in the eye of a zed at point blank range doesn't drop it anymore... Makes the MkII completely worthless. At the same time the round should be weaker than .380 so they can't be equal. What is the damage required for a headshot to kill a zombie with one hit? Would it be feasible to buff the other pistol calibres slightly to allow for a slight buff to .22 as well?
PapaQ 23 Feb, 2020 @ 4:20am
Awesome, thanks mate. Keep up the good work
Not A Banana  [author] 23 Feb, 2020 @ 4:01am
No way to make it as simple as editing a config, however you're free to unpack the mod to see how it works (it's pretty simple) and make your own variant.
PapaQ 23 Feb, 2020 @ 12:42am
Awesome work, btw is there any way we could change the values ourselves?
[EXD] M A r t I N 16 Feb, 2020 @ 10:42am
If you can touch 7.62x54 and .308 rounds and increase values we would be grateful.
Not A Banana  [author] 16 Feb, 2020 @ 10:35am
I don't touch 308/762x54. Whatever change you're noticing is placebo/some other mod.
[EXD] M A r t I N 16 Feb, 2020 @ 10:17am
762x54 and .308 rounds are NOT powerful enough anymore as before. You could kill with one or max. two hits on target from distance. Now at target distance 600m-1000m away you have to hit 3-4 rounds on target to kill.
Not A Banana  [author] 16 Feb, 2020 @ 9:50am
What do you mean? I dont think there is a max.
[EXD] M A r t I N 16 Feb, 2020 @ 9:34am
What's the max. value you can set up?
Magic_leo 16 Feb, 2020 @ 1:20am
To make the vss actually worth it I guess
Not A Banana  [author] 15 Feb, 2020 @ 10:48pm
@MWI Magic_leo It did used to be same damage as 556/762x39, but for some reason they super buffed it.
Magic_leo 14 Feb, 2020 @ 1:09pm
lul I dind't knew that 9x39 does that much damage. I always believed that it was arround the same as 5.56x45 and 7.62x39
