Everytime i go to peace with anther Civ it collects taxes. It even collects taxes when civ I have defensive pact with makes peace. Please fix because My gold is 15,000 when it should only be like 7,000 or less.

does this apply to ai aswell? and does it make your people "unhappy" or less happy
One Whole Dragon 5. jan. 2017 kl. 18:44
Yay, now I can make my Civ profit from blowing up inferior peoples and annexing them into our glorious empire

Simple, understandable and useful. Basically if war is declared on you, you get money. How much heavily depending on the difficulty setting and number/size of your cities, along with bonuses from certain buildings.

The only thing I wonder is this, does the AI get access to these bonuses aswell?

could find further improvements with more advanced technologies like bank or a further economic technologie could enable a building allowing oriented local economie, wich would grant a city with enough income the possibility to use some of it to improve an other aspect such as cases, ressource, great peoples or different buildings bonuses improvements. could be a bonus production while building, units , buildings or wonders....
ZenFeroce 25. maj 2015 kl. 21:05
Could bring the taxes concept to a complete game feature affecting happyness, science education immigration, culture devellopement, could make an improved administration mod letting you decide the orientattion of economic benefits to each citys, using a % of city income to improve production food culture etc... could have buildings and features ex: taxe office ennabling taxes,with a base rate not affecting happyness and happyness being lower for every % of taxe risen,.. could have a wartaxe concept among with some policies alowing a taxe while affecting less hapiness. could find further improvements with more advanced technologies

Interesting concept but I feel it could be improved to be more realistic/useful.
Here are my thoughts on how to improve things:

1. I think the amount of cash following into your empire should increase by 10-to-30% for 15-to-40 turns rather than getting a flat rate from everything. (the bonus should also cut off once peace has been made)

2. Unhappiness from Population should increase by 20% during that time period in order to represent the peoples' distaste for increased taxes.

3. Growth speed in the capital should decrease by 10-to-20% and have Military Unit Production speed increase by 8-to-16%.

4. Growth speed in non-capital cities should decrease by 5-to-10% and have Military Unit Production speed increase by 4-to-8%.

Your example above was a civ having war declared on it, but does this take affect only in defensive wars or also when you attack another civ?
Swetcan 25. juli 2014 kl. 21:02
lol how to be an evil dictator:
1 declare war on a helpless civ or citystate far away
2 just collect tax to "fight the war"
3 buy a hottube with all your tax money=)

looks nice, but i think should have more tweaks, like if you are a Hun, you probaly beeing invading a loot of civs, e it should be more like a great person, every time it pops up the tax thing, it should have more and more time to do, not just 20 you now.

would be better if this is unlocked through a social policy than automatically enabled.

This mod looks like it could promote warmongering, as all you need is a positive happyness and you get instant cash. Maybe as a way to balance this, unhappyness from the population could double for the next 10 turns and the player could choose if they want the tax to come into action. Sounds like a great mod though.

This is great when I play tall and defensively but

I play on standard but I get tax collections a lot more frequent than 20 turns. Roughly three collections every 4 -5 turns. Not a complaint, just thought it was weird :X

Getting more tax out of your citizen than usual for a war sounds a bit weird. I mean the struggle to keep your gold flowing is surely part of the game.
Perhaps if it negatively impacted some element of your development (Slower population growth/less production) that'd justify it.

i may say that speed must influence, in the opposite way, tax efficiency as at slower speed you need more hammer to produce any item and then more gold to buy it... (marathon cost 300% of normal,epic 150%, quick 67%)... So to maintain it as a balanced proposition... the speed effect must be removed or inverted...

having the equivalent of 1/3 of the money every two "period" instead of the money every period is pretty ridiculous in marathon vs normal...

@Lmonkazo
Speed affects the time taken to collect next tax.

Fast - 10 Turn
Standard - 20
Slow - 30
Marathon - 40
A Little bit of Horseradish 1. dec. 2013 kl. 11:32
does it take speed into consideration?

Hey man I really like the idea for this mod but I have a suggestion:

You should make it so this only happens if the defending civ has a smaller military strength then the attacker. Idea being it'll only help civ's that would otherwise be trampled. And plus if the defending civ has a larger army anyway then it will just give them an unfair advantage.

One other thing: It should say " X gold has been collected to defend our civilization." X being the amount of gold ofcourse.
Krajzen 29. nov. 2013 kl. 7:47
That's cool. Well, that would be unfair if only human player - already superior to AI because of his intelligence ;D - would receive bonus money ;)
🙂  [ophavsmand] 28. nov. 2013 kl. 9:43
@Krajzen

yes it also works.

why would they need money anyway??;;
Krajzen 28. nov. 2013 kl. 9:33
Awesome idea :)

Does it work also for AI? It would help them ;)
