this would have been so useful on my 360 version... i went in a cave only to come out with shadow mare fighting 2 legendary dragons... and dies instantly... no way to save shadow mare... and it NEVER REVIVES EITHER... so can you add this to https://mods.bethesda.net/#en/workshop/skyrim for the xbox one version

Shadowmere is not essential by default. Both in the wiki's, game files and from experience I can tell you that shadowmere is not essential. Since he has 5x heah regeneration, he normally doesn't die from combat although difficult mods, fall damage and powerful characters can kill Shadowmere, the only way to get him back being to go to the original spawn point 10 in-game days later. This is inconvenient to many players who often just reload and lose progress, so this mod makes him essential.
Also, it makes frost essential, which isn't normally the case.

What are you stupid? Shadowmere is already essential by default. This is a needless mod and your an idiot for making it. Rated down.

Geat....I personallly wont need either item ( spell book/ scroll your decision)) but I thought the people that have rouble with console comands mght. Killing off the DORKS is fun but you lose out on a good mount (the people your asked to assassinate are TOTALY worthless and ridiclos except the last one the Emporer....and he's practcly ASKING to die!.....but really the others ?)

PERFECT! ( and this solves the problem brought up by Kool aid ) I cant STAND the Assassin questline ( or thieves) so I ALWAYS kill off the DORK Brotherhood and my Current PC has never rode Shadowmere....the above console command worked like a charm and Summoned her from the beyond.....Suggestion you could make a spell book / scroll that will summon the Horse from whereever it goes if the Player decides to destroy the DORKS....just place it on Astrid's desk in the DB sanctuary (you dont normally get Shadowmere until late in the Assassin's QL)

*SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVEN'T COMPLETED THE DARK BROTHERHOOD STORY*
It was really annoying since after you kill Astrid you can't get back Shadowmere unless you use the console commands.

@Anthony Some mods that add harder creatures can kill shadowmere, and in vanilla game shadowmere can die from falling. Frost can die normally too.

this mod is useless because unless you go into console and kill Shadowmere he wont die because of his insane regen

Thank you for fixing a peeve of mine... a major load save issue every time shadow is thown in the air from rising water level then dropped to his death. Sometimes with me on him even!! Resurecting brings him back, but does not auto set me as its owner or it as a nearly essential npc like it starts out. So, it has to be a load save for it to be "normal".

Armour mods have a high possibility to conflict, so I can't really help with that, you will just have to choose.
You could try clicking frost in the game and typing setessential 1 as posted in a previous comment, but it has potential to be buggy.

It would be preferable to not use codes other than spawn ones to keep bugs to a minimal, although I will update this now with an optional esp. which when enabled makes shadowmere and frost 2X as fast :)

Frost and Shadowmere are both within the game, you may have been confused and combined the two :)
Frostmere doesnt exist with or without the mod, this mod just makes shadowmere and frost essential :)

This mod isn't a mod that adds features so Shadowmere and Frost will be normal, except for the ability to not die, so no sorry I wont be putting on a armoured version

Well thank you very much. Have a good day :) I am sure there will be ones that will love you for this. If you do it right as soon as you get to Riften now you can start the Frost quest and have a good horse early on. It makes such a difference.
