also what are the chances for this to become available to other planets? maybe with a compatibility to
Star System Generator ?

is this combatible to "configurable Ores"
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2973891097
If not would you please add a version, with "fewer" but "bigger" and "deeper" ore fields.
dragonraalhaan 24 Nov, 2021 @ 5:15pm
I would also like to add my vote possibly making this work with Better Stone. The idea of a more realistic variation of stone minerals, mixed with a more realistic variation of ore vein types - that would be great. I realize that this isn't necessarily easy, of course, as I have almost no relevant skills useful for modding.
Chronos "Salty" Pliskin 9 Nov, 2021 @ 5:25pm
Also, this mod needs a patch to work with Industrial Overhaul so you can use the stone types in survival kit and other things that Industrial Overhaul adds or changes. Also, would be nice if each of the stone types had a name other then "Stone" to be more immersive/realistic.

Is there an icon mod for this that replaces the icons with different textures to match whatever icon mod you use, because I would like to have icons that match the colored icons mod.

@baph.online shouldn't be an issue?
Haven't been keeping up to date with Space Engineers though.
baph.online 9 Sep, 2021 @ 12:54pm
hey, is this compatible with concrete voxels? cheers
Luckaryu 16 Aug, 2021 @ 1:11pm
Thanks for the quick answer! I found out the crushed stones will only go into your heavy refinery(only one i didnt have in base) , industrial refinery doesnt accept them, at least on my server it isnt, didnt try singleplayer yet.
PlateGlassArmour  [author] 16 Aug, 2021 @ 11:32am
@Luckaryu I have not updated it for industrial overhaul, so I wouldn't be surprised if there are some issues.
Chronos "Salty" Pliskin 10 Feb, 2021 @ 3:48pm
Is there a version of this that works with Better Stone? If not could you make a version that works with Better Stone? Also, does this work on existing saves or do I have to start over?
Celestite 2 Sep, 2020 @ 5:32pm
theres a bit of bug with the mod, when i started to use it for voxel placement that image that should represent the texture of the voxel started to flicker, its not to bad but just something to look out for
YeahKinda 26 Jul, 2020 @ 6:32pm
ah well I was more looking to just lke maybe a labeled screenshot or something
PlateGlassArmour  [author] 26 Jul, 2020 @ 4:24pm
@EkohTheTaur kind of. I ended up just placing down a blob of every voxel texture with the voxel tool in creative mode to decide on which colors I would use.
YeahKinda 26 Jul, 2020 @ 1:43pm
Yo is there a list that can show the colors of the stone voxels? That'd be really cool to see!
PlateGlassArmour  [author] 19 Feb, 2020 @ 4:32pm
Alright. Should be fixed. Let me know if you have any further problems.
PlateGlassArmour  [author] 19 Feb, 2020 @ 4:28pm
Think I figured it out. Patch will be up within 20 min.
PlateGlassArmour  [author] 19 Feb, 2020 @ 4:26pm
I'll try to get to the bottom of it. Looking through logs right now. I'll let you know when I've identified the problem.
Sawakaki 19 Feb, 2020 @ 1:33am
I tried using the stone crusher for the first time today and the game crashed for me as well. I was playing survival local, no server. When it crashes, I get a error log. I have zero skill modding or coding or anything, so I don't know if that would be useful, but I can send it if the author would find it helpful.
Tiamat09 18 Feb, 2020 @ 9:26pm
how come, every time i want to place the stone crusher the game crashes. when i try that in online game, i get reconnected to the server..
N0ma13 1 Feb, 2020 @ 8:55am
Thanks! We will need to wait until the merge approval though. We're starting on Earth and that's where our primary mining facilities will be. Won't be on other planets until we've got a stable system on Earth, then asteroids, then Moon, etc.
PlateGlassArmour  [author] 1 Feb, 2020 @ 8:50am
So, from my testing, it looks like the Deep Ores mod, and my mod are compatible, *if* you have my mod higher in the mod list. This will mean that for every other planet and moon, you'll be getting the Deep Ores mod, and for Earthlike, you'll be getting my mod. Once I get permission, then my mod will have the Deep Ores settings for Earthlike, so you're not missing anything.

Until then, feel free to use my normal "More Stone Types" mod and Deep Ores, so long as mine is loaded first. Just keep in mind that the Deep Ores bit won't apply to the Earthlike planet.

Once I can release the "Deep" version, then swap the normal version out for that one (keep my mod loaded before Deep Ores), and you'll have deep ores settings on all planets and moons, with the new stone types on Earthlike.
N0ma13 1 Feb, 2020 @ 8:30am
Outstanding! We botched our start last night (joys of new modsets!!) so I'll be ready to test it out as soon as it's published. (assuming they allow).
Also doesn't have to be 'deep ores mod', I just want that concept in our server so we can deep core mine and make permanent mining outposts instead of scratch the surface with a flyer and move on.
Appreciate you taking this up!
PlateGlassArmour  [author] 1 Feb, 2020 @ 7:01am
@N0ma13 I'm done the Deep Ores version. Just waiting on permission from the Deep Ores mod author to post it. In the meantime, I've improved all of the versions, since I had some new ideas for improving the mod.
Serža 1 Feb, 2020 @ 1:53am
perfection.
N0ma13 31 Jan, 2020 @ 9:43pm
Awesome, thank you for looking into that.
PlateGlassArmour  [author] 31 Jan, 2020 @ 8:33pm
Ice lakes will only have basalt under them with my mod. Has to do with being a unique biome. If you're getting normal stone under ice lakes my mod isn't loading (as expected). I'm waiting to hear back from the author of Deep Ores, but I should be able to make a "deep" version of my mod within the next couple of days.
N0ma13 31 Jan, 2020 @ 8:18pm
I seem to be getting mixed dirt but not the stone variety (unless you haven't changed under ice yet?) but have deepores as first. If you had a version that included a similar ore system that would be perfect.
PlateGlassArmour  [author] 31 Jan, 2020 @ 6:50pm
@N0ma13 unfortunately not, since they both modify the same part of the same file. Which ore mod? I might make a version that has the deep ores in it, if I get permission from the mod author.
N0ma13 31 Jan, 2020 @ 5:12pm
Is this compatible (or a replacement for) deep ores?
I love the variety of this mod but *need* ore spawns to be larger and deeper.
Mining outposts must happen.!
We're starting a new server so I'm at the perfect time to pick a stone/ore mod.
Sawakaki 31 Jan, 2020 @ 12:13pm
Sweet, thanks.
PlateGlassArmour  [author] 31 Jan, 2020 @ 12:03pm
@Sawakari everything in this mod is fine with existing games. It won't change voxels that have already been modified in your current game, but every patch of untouched earth is fair game to be swapped out.
Sawakaki 31 Jan, 2020 @ 11:52am
Awesome, I'll check it out! Do we need to start a new game or will it appear in a game we're currently using the mod in?
PlateGlassArmour  [author] 31 Jan, 2020 @ 2:19am
Added basalt. Let me know what you think of the ice yields, if you dig far enough to find it.
Korvatus Klok 29 Jan, 2020 @ 5:52pm
Understood. That's why I suggested some kind of absurd ratio so it would be ridiculous to rely on this process to supply your reactors.
PlateGlassArmour  [author] 29 Jan, 2020 @ 5:41pm
@Korvatus Klok I thought about it, but ended up deciding to stick with the vanilla limits for which ores can't be found on Earthlike. I wanted to remove some of the pinch form the early ore searching, but I don't want to remove the need to go to space.

If I ever end up getting around to expanding the mod to include other planets and asteroids, then I might do something like that for stone found on those, but not for the Earthlike.

If you want a trickle of uranium from processing stone, try the Gravel Sifter mod. That one gives you a bit of every resource from processing gravel.
Korvatus Klok 29 Jan, 2020 @ 5:35pm
I grew up in an area that has allot of sandstone. I know pitchblende is commonly found in sandstone. So is there a chance you could add a nigh insignificant amount of uranium? Something like for every 1,000 kg of sandstone gravel process yields 1kg of uranium.
Sawakaki 29 Jan, 2020 @ 3:29pm
I think it's a great idea. It feels like it fits right in with the rest of the mod.
Axebeard 29 Jan, 2020 @ 1:44pm
I like it.
PlateGlassArmour  [author] 29 Jan, 2020 @ 12:57pm
This talk of ice gives me an idea: below all the other layers, make a thick slab of basalt bedrock that contains a bit of ice. That way, if you're ever desperate for ice, you just have to dig deep enough. I would probably replace the stone under the ice lakes with it too. Any thoughts?
Sawakaki 29 Jan, 2020 @ 12:36pm
Awesome, thanks! I agree about the ice lakes, it's much harder to get into space without them. The gravel processor makes any stone variant more valuable anyway, so it all works out in the end.
PlateGlassArmour  [author] 29 Jan, 2020 @ 11:55am
@Sawakaki the ice lakes and desert biomes remain unchanged from vanilla, so there should be normal stone there. I could have overrode them, but I didn't want to remove them from the game, since they add diversity to the planets, and are a good source of hydrogen. I might end up adding something underneath them, but I think it's fine like it is for now.
Sawakaki 29 Jan, 2020 @ 11:28am
Loving this mod so far, really adds depth to mining! Does it default to vanilla stone underneath the giant ice lakes, or did I just get lucky?
Axebeard 28 Jan, 2020 @ 11:52am
Cool!
Korvatus Klok 28 Jan, 2020 @ 5:22am
Pretty cool. Sounds like you put allot of work in this.
PlateGlassArmour  [author] 28 Jan, 2020 @ 3:51am
@Axebeard I added a gravel processor, so I also followed your desires by splitting of a "no blocks" version of the mod. I may still make a version that purely adds the machines, with no map changes.
Axebeard 27 Jan, 2020 @ 7:10pm
For me personally, I'd separate the machinery into a separate addon mod.
PlateGlassArmour  [author] 27 Jan, 2020 @ 7:05pm
@Axebeard Yup. Although I may add (read: am working on) additional blocks for specialised processing of soil, stone, and gravel. I'm curious if this would make the mod less attractive to you.
I could always separate it into two versions, if people don't like the extra blocks.
Axebeard 27 Jan, 2020 @ 6:39pm
Looking forward to trying this out, it's nice that it's pretty insular and doesn't require new Blocks or anything.
OctoBooze 27 Jan, 2020 @ 2:03am
Fantastic idea. Anything to add depth to mining is right up my alley. Nice work!
PlateGlassArmour  [author] 26 Jan, 2020 @ 6:07pm
Thanks. I had a lot of fun making it.
The only thing I'm a bit dissatisfied with is that I ended up making the topsoil layer a bit less visually interesting.
