Do you plan on updating this mod to contain challenge roads past #24?
MariofanL1VE 13 Oct, 2023 @ 11:19pm
This has existed... for HOW LONG?! How did I not find this sooner?!
NickG 27 May, 2023 @ 4:15am
brilliant idea... please, keep updating it!

Didn't know there were newer challenge roads... but also wondering if you're willing to add some kind of completion checklist feature, or maybe are willing to share your source code?
The Woker 12 Apr, 2023 @ 7:25am
would you consider updating this with the newer challenge roads?
Ms. Switch 21 Jan, 2023 @ 5:54pm
Oh I think I might have realized what happened. So if a mod in the currently active Challenge Road gets updated, the game will remove it from the Challenge Road and then consider it to be a new one. I definitely remember doing one of those at least once, but that also means theres potentially undocumented Challenge Roads...
EpicYoshiMaster  [author] 21 Jan, 2023 @ 5:18pm
For the ones implemented now, they've been manually verified (so I hope they're right, I had issues with some in the past but they have fixes to try and make sure no extras are given). The trophy IDs are usually the steam IDs for the mods in the CR in a string in reverse order, separated by underscores.

Most issues come from when mods lost their CR tags, resulting in a different trophy ID, which I've done my best to try and account for the cases I know of at least.
Ms. Switch 21 Jan, 2023 @ 3:40pm
Any idea how Trophy ID's are assigned ? I played through all the 24 Challenge Roads implemented since I've missed some here and there, but I've ended up with a total of 36 trophies, when there has only been 35 Challenge Roads so far I believe. And I'm not too sure I've played all 25-35, unless I was more on top of playing them all than I realized. :pon:
EpicYoshiMaster  [author] 20 Dec, 2022 @ 10:23am
There isn't really any official way to see which roads you have / haven't completed, the most you get is a trophy display on the challenge road screen in the mailroom and the count on the file select screen.

The game time refers to the speedrun timer, which you might not have enabled. It's so speedrunners can have a timer start/complete for the full level compilation duration.

Amazing mod, thank you! Sad to think that the old Challenge Roads would be lost forever. I just started playing, so I'm super hyped to play through all of the challenges.

Note to noobs: access via the time piece next to the alpine entrance. It's in a screenshot.

It's not obvious how to install all of the mods. I consider myself pretty savvy (lol) but I clicked through each Challenge Road in the game, to find each steam page. Because they wouldn't show up in search. But I now see we can go to EpicYoshiMaster's workshop directly and find all of them:
https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/id/EpicYoshiMaster/myworkshopfiles/?section=collections&appid=253230

I was wondering - where are the trophies? How can I know which Challenge Roads I have completed?

I see the total count of trophies on the file select screen, is that really it?

Also, what does it mean by "Your Game Time will be reset"? Sounds ominous, but I didn't notice any effects...

Fair enough, life comes before hobbies. I will continue to wait patiently until the day comes. :HatHealth:
EpicYoshiMaster  [author] 8 Dec, 2022 @ 2:14pm
Hi! I believe this may be because some of the relevant Deathathon mods have been taken down by their creators since the last update (which was quite a while ago), so the check fails since internally the mod is still expecting their levels to be installed.

I've been very busy with other things so I haven't been around to update this mod in quite some time. I do plan to do so eventually, but I can't offer any date at this time.
Anderre Belmont 7 Dec, 2022 @ 7:10pm
Can't seem to get Deathathon to work, I've installed every mod in the level compilation, still says install. Went around and installed several levels from other compilations, still says install. I've also reset the game multiple time, and still nothing. I've been trying to fix this for about 4ish hours now, and I've ran out of ideas on what to do. Though if I were to take a guess I'm probably missing a/multiple level(s), but I've installed, every level in the compilation it sends me to. I also can't search for what maps I'm missing because all of the names are hidden, so I can't cross reference either. Not sure what to do, I really want to try this nightmareish challenge.
PuffyBuffy25 24 Jul, 2022 @ 1:56am
On a side note, a "Free Roam (Intro)" Alpine Skyline would be cool, considering the Metro has one. Would also be helpful for one of my custom compilations "THE TEMPORARIES".
PuffyBuffy25 24 Jul, 2022 @ 1:47am
Playable Mustache girl crashes when loading into any rift collapse when entering the map via level completions, which is unusual considering the headwear kids don't have this issue. Challenge Road is also a few entries behind.
TrustedIntruder7 17 Aug, 2021 @ 12:25am
i hope you don't think adding that feature is a bad idea.
TrustedIntruder7 17 Aug, 2021 @ 12:23am
so you need to remake the whole mod to implement this future and it is also user unfriendly. I can understand that the mod is still gold
EpicYoshiMaster  [author] 16 Aug, 2021 @ 10:05am
It is not currently possible to add Mod levels to custom comps sadly! While I think it would definitely be possible to implement, it would likely be too jank and require something too user-unfriendly for me to want to add it in, at least with how the mod is structured internally right now.
TrustedIntruder7 16 Aug, 2021 @ 12:57am
is there any way to make a compilation and add installed mods? i wanna add a mod but idk if it's possible.
EpicYoshiMaster  [author] 9 Mar, 2021 @ 8:28pm
It is normal, yes. I think a lot of us were confused seeing duplicates when there were always plenty of solid levels to add, but that’s just how the devs handled it.
Shevaras 9 Mar, 2021 @ 7:09pm
Is it normal that there's duplicate levels from https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1976436282 in previous challenge roads? Every levels except Pink melted donuts time rift and red as heck rift.
Shevaras 21 Feb, 2021 @ 12:38pm
Oh thank you! Also, your mod seems to really boost the replay value.
EpicYoshiMaster  [author] 21 Feb, 2021 @ 12:28pm
That refers to how there's an in-game timer you can activate in Game Settings, it's more of a message to speedrunners than to anyone else so if you don't have it enabled, you can just ignore that!
Shevaras 21 Feb, 2021 @ 11:37am
What do they mean by game time reset?
Sir Cheesbunger esg. III 16 Dec, 2020 @ 5:41pm
This is dope! RIP Challenge Road
Traivlin 15 Dec, 2020 @ 1:52pm
You're awesome, very much appreciated
Sizemore 14 Dec, 2020 @ 1:19pm
Epic!
EpicYoshiMaster  [author] 14 Dec, 2020 @ 7:41am
Figured it out, looks like for whatever reason the map name in the mod was changed. Updating to get that fixed!
EpicYoshiMaster  [author] 14 Dec, 2020 @ 7:19am
Strange, I'll look into it!
Traivlin 14 Dec, 2020 @ 5:31am
Challenge Road 5 can be finished now, thank you! Another thing, I noticed that Challenge Road 19 doesn't work due to the game not being able to load the Farewell mod map. I get an error message and the game closes. However, when I try starting the map separately from the level selection/Goofy Mafia on the ship, Farewell does load
Sizemore 7 Dec, 2020 @ 6:49pm
It does give you the achievement. Thank you!
EpicYoshiMaster  [author] 7 Dec, 2020 @ 5:12pm
Contacted the creator, looks like it'll be put back up on the workshop, thanks for the heads up!
Traivlin 7 Dec, 2020 @ 2:15pm
Very useful mod, thank you! Heads up, Random Objects Platforming isn't on Steam anymore, so Challenge Road 5 in its current form can not be completed
Lexi Lunarpaw 12 Nov, 2020 @ 7:29pm
RIP Normal Challenge Road at least we have this...
Spectr@L 18 Oct, 2020 @ 12:51pm
@EpicYoshiMaster : Ah ok. Thanks! I'll test it out with my friend.
EpicYoshiMaster  [author] 18 Oct, 2020 @ 10:59am
They'll need the mod installed, yes. It works the same way as synced entrances to levels, so as long as another player is in the Online Party it should queue for them to be able to join. Let me know if you have any issues!
Spectr@L 17 Oct, 2020 @ 6:13pm
@EpicYoshiMaster : So I'm new to using this. How do you let other players join you? I tried using this in Online Party but the compilation instantly takes me to the level. Do they have to have the mod installed?
EpicYoshiMaster  [author] 18 Sep, 2020 @ 4:28pm
I do try to give the achievement but I can't confirm whether or not it actually works, it's worth trying for sure if you're willing.
Kryzz 18 Sep, 2020 @ 3:40pm
If you do one of the older challenge roads do you get the achievement for it. Cause the current one is kinda poorly made
JDWMGB 4 Sep, 2020 @ 2:09pm
This is just a question but would have Seal the Deal Snatcher be possible in custom comps? as hes like the only death wish missing
Ender-dragonwolf 15 Aug, 2020 @ 1:04am
is it just me,because my game crashes in a custom compilation at the twilight light bell
Moip 17 Jul, 2020 @ 5:40pm
I agree
EpicYoshiMaster  [author] 16 Jul, 2020 @ 1:47pm
Latest update has fixed these issues, we're back up and running!
EpicYoshiMaster  [author] 14 Jul, 2020 @ 11:44am
Just a heads up, the latest Experimental update has broken Mod Compilations for Level Comps, I'm currently working on a fix but it might be a few days so hold on tight, thanks!
Local Dunce 11 Jul, 2020 @ 9:13pm
Thanks for responding! I figured that tricking levels into thinking it's a challenge road might be a nuisance. Stuff like infinite jump mods or console commands can work around it anyways, which I forgot existed when I made my comment.
EpicYoshiMaster  [author] 11 Jul, 2020 @ 6:27am
Hey there! The way Farewell was designed specifically changes it to only require the A-side when in Challenge Road. The only reasonable way for this to work with Level Compilations is if the creator designed a check specifically for my mod as well. I sadly don't have control over that remotely without doing extremely jank methods of emulating the required checks, which I'm really not a fan of doing.
Local Dunce 11 Jul, 2020 @ 12:28am
I encountered something annoying with Farewell in challenge road 19. In the actual challenge road, it lets you get the time piece at the end of the first section. If you use this mod to play the challenge road, the level thinks you're playing it normally and doesn't give you the time piece after the first section. So if someone missed this challenge road and wants to use this mod to get the trophy, they have to play the rest of Farewell, which is very hard. Would like to know if this can be fixed when another challenge road is released.

DEATHATHON!

Well, I don't know if this is still relevant or not, but here's the (updated) list of all mod levels in case anyone wants to download the full package at once:

~A Camt in Time~ 16 May, 2020 @ 9:58pm
Yeah that's pretty much what I figured. Oh well, still a neat idea. And I appreciate you looking into it. Luckily when I noticed it happened I didn't have any crazy good best times to lose, but now I have some really hard to beat ones that I can't afford to lose.

I actually found out that the MG Ex timer is bugged because it's not a best time but only a best time in the hyper zone. For some reason if you actually die and respawn, or restart the DW manually, it'll erase your best time. So when I play it, I have to return to hub if I die, and only get one try at it per load time.
