Utterly superb. I went into it expecting a mild experience and was completely blown away with the delicate attention to detail. I watched the Resident Evil film many times on DVD years ago, and actually being in the laser-grid sequence when I wasn't expecting it with* the track by Manson/Beltrami was simply mind-boggling. Well done, sir. :re2umbrella:

The map is damn near perfect! The amount of effort and polish so far is outstanding, without a doubt my favourite workshop map!
That said there is one issue I feel that makes a small but strong impact is the fact the laser only renders out the left eye with my Oculus Rift S (can't speak for other HMDs)
I can obviously my right eye and see it fine but if you dont do that i find it strains my eyes trying to focus on it... nothing else in VR has ever strained my eyes like that lol.

Again, not the end of the world and I still love the map, its like a 98% love it, the 2% is just the laser eye strain and i guess that hive entrance keyboard at the checkpoint near the train that is SUPER loud and doesnt seem to matter where in the map you are to hear it.

Keep up the good work and all the best with your other projects (workshop or otherwise)

@CaseFace5 This map is amazing! I do have a question though, is the only player spawn point downstairs by the Red Queen's chamber in Zombie mode? Would be dope to start on the train/platform instead so it's easier to get the first weapon crate after wave 1. This is already becoming one of my favorite maps.

a new idea will be that you can make some kind of mirroring in the laser chamber and as well som art for 3d models from the player they get scliced apart when the laser hits you (like in the movie)

i love this map and i want to politely ask that you port this to shack pavlov vr for quest so my friend who does not have a pc experience it we are big fans of the movie and the map

@Nevarrekrivachek you have to start a coop lobby then there is a sneaky secret button above the "set pin" lock icon on the menu, that will bring you to a map selection screen and then you just select the hive

This is awesome but there is one bug at least at zombie mode the door at the lazer room keeps open the hole lazer sequence and pops back to the slow open animation after the sequence.

@The Soviet Sandvich nothing past the queens room at the moment, ive taken a break from this map to work on something else, eventually I do want to go back and add the utility tunnels and dog cage areas from the film that will connect back through the map. As for doors, the panels next to the doors are an indicator of whether or not they can be opened. there are only a few until the Pavlov team update the workshop tools to make it easier for us to add interactables (which is another reason ive taken a break from the map for now)

@SkipVerse yea its locked off at the moment I am still trying to work out some bugs with the sequence should hopefully be fixed next update at sometime this week

Is there a way to enter the laser trap or is it currently locked off? I tried around the computers from what I've seen in videos you've posted but I couldn't get it to open

@Borvath I had to take some liberties with the layout and a lot of guesswork for interconnecting areas, for the most part the map follows the timeline of the movie in terms of the path to the bottom of the hive, except for a few minor changes that just made logical sense. with a few doors and entryways I had to make up for the sake of making the map function and not be absolutely massive. But for the most part its as movie accurate as I could get it without sacrificing optimization.

This look very good. Did you have to change stuff like elevators or add new corridors, so they would line up? Are the 3D Map from the first movie and The Hive from the last movie and the 3D Map of the last movie consistent with each other? For example, in the movie as I have understood the train connects to the top level of the octagonal shaped floors, but I have seen a 2D Plans of The Hive from Resident Evil Wiki and the train connects to the lowest of the octagonal shaped floors.

@Goreator yep all a work in progress, Pavlov Zombies in its current state doesnt really work too well with larger maps like this so ill be experimenting with ways to make the spawns work a bit better until the Pavlov Devs release the next dev kit tool update. and eventually ill sort the doors out lol

Good map but you need something like an intor text that tells the player that he can open doors. Sometime the respawn places are wiered if you play with friends and die

@Furry Trash Its functional with Zombies currently! all you have to do is start a coop lobby then there is a sneaky secret button above the "set pin" lock icon on the menu, that will bring you to a map selection screen and then you just select the hive and it will be fully playable with the Pavlov Zombies :)

@Supreme Anal Lord I have thought about doing a TTT version but that will come later as I think once you make a map TTT it can only be played with TTT gamemode since its built into the map. My dream is to actually combine TTT with zombies for some ultimate chaos and paranoia lol but I am waiting on the Pavlov dev kit update that should be coming soon to see if that will be possible
