You can also find necklaces in fountains.

I recall finding something that, if I were a warrior and not a mage, would equip over something else I had at the time.
Still, a ring's a ring and I'd rather "You find something in the fountain." If nothing else, I'll sell it for gold or re-translate it to change its effects into something more agreeable.

The only items you can find with "You find something in the fountain." are rings. I think that doesn't matter for any perma-death player.

This is probably a mod conflict.

You drink from the fountain! You find a suit of mirror armour! Your game has crashed! You have no idea whether that had anything to do with this mod or not!

What Kaidelong was getting at is, to someone who counts on the one truly useful fountain effect of finding a rare item (the rest are temporary, act like potions, or generally isn't a sword that's suitable against Lord Dredmor) this mod should be overlooked.

That is, unless increasing the number of fountains counteracts the decreased chances of that one coveted event occurring. In which case it favors players doing Perma-Death and makes it harder to load-and-die when you don't "Find something in the fountain."

All potion sprites are from the main game's unused potion sprites (potion_white0.png, potion_orange0.png).

The chance you'll get a bad effect from drinking from a fountain is the same as it is in the main game.

Glancing over the description alone: some of those potion sprites look the exact same as ones already used for Zaratustra's excellent mod. Also picking this up is a nerf overall as you're less likely to get "You find something in the fountain" so you shouldn't aspire to the same good-bad ratio. Will play sometime after next week.
