There is indeed an item for that in the FCS.
I have tried it, but it was not changed.
Wanted to ask a question about the sound the gaussrifle makes when shooting. I was messing around in the FCS because i wanted to change some of the stats and i noticed that the gaussrifle is using the HARPOON-TURRET sound but in-game the sound of firing is the default crossbow one.
Is there a way to actually make the gaussrifle sound be the same as the loud bang from the harpoon turrets? Because the sound option of HARPOON-TURRET doesn't seem to actually do anythin.
Thanks in advance!
Remember that

not a special bolt.
Look for its "Material" property. Double-click that Material.
See the "specular" setting. This value is decimal between 0 and 1. If it is currently 1, make it something like 0.5 and see if that helps.
If reflections are still too high, load the Diffuse texture into GIMP.
MAKE A COPY OF THE FILE AND WORK ON THE COPY, so the original is not harmed.
Make sure not to edit the RGB channels. The Alpha channel is what controls specular. The more transparent an area on the image is, the more it reflects, according to Specular setting in FCS.
So if you remove Alpha from an area it will become less reflective and more dull.
Hope that helps.
Glossing is done through texture transparency and material settings in FCS.
I'm sure GIMP has that feature.
The projectile speed is higher than Eagle's cross, but it doesn't affect the game much.
but The bullet to be fired looks original.
Look at the last image.
