one thing to warn with this mod before it gets updated is that something with rimworlds update has bugged world gen where factions wont spawn

It requires a decent bit of reworking for the new update is the problem, way outside my skills so Crome is working on it whenever he has freetime.

That's a side effect of it not currently being updated to 1.5 It'll be fixed when it gets updated.

Remi when you do start working on this I've a question & a request is the answers yes.

Question: does this mod add an Ideology that has 3 Leader roles in addition to the moral guide, & specialist roles?Request: is it possible to get the Ideology bits separated out as their own NON-HAR requred mod?

my old PC died last fall & I've been trying to redo my rimworld mods list, sadly several mods in my current list don't play well with HAR but I do want that Ideology part. OR if you could look into making this a Biotech only mod that'd be good & simple enough just need a Gene for each head type, a Gene for the skin textures, then a Gene that makes breeding with other Xenotypes impossible & using Vanilla Expanded & Alpha Genes mods you have all the genes needed to make the Sanghellis Xenotype.

Just a thought that last paragraph.

Wow, Steam turned off notifications to this thread specifically despite it being ticked. I haven't gotten any notifications at all in months. But yeah, 1.5 dropped when we were moving so we've not been able to do any work on this mod. Gonna get on it when we find a good chunk of free time.

its been nearly a year since an update and with 1.5 coming out I doubt it'll be getting updated unless hes on the case rn and just hasn't said anything

i don't mind taking a stab at it, but I'm not an artist by any stretch of the imagination, so my contribution would be code only

The pawns will have children, but when a baby becomes a child or a child becomes an adult, the body becomes a pink block.

How do you research Sangehili tech? I have marine armor researched but none of my colonists will go to the high-tech research bench and work on it.

Any chance of a sangheili xenotype being added?

Alternatively, is there a way to apply custom xenotypes to a whole race? I use sangheilis and argonians and both using baseliner xenotype is frustrating lol

I think* it was Roo's Faun Xenotype both times it happened for me. Thus I would also assume it would happen with Roo's Satyr and Minotaur Xenotypes.

We never set up compatibility with any xenotype mods. Sangheili pawns are supposed to be immune to most cosmetic xenotypes. If a mod is overriding that and forcing sangheili pawns to have the xenotype (like replacing heads or bodies), it can cause many issues that way. I don't really know what I can do on my end to fix that other than maybe pushing a compatibility patch to target that mod and disable those xenotypes from being allowed on sangheili pawns.

I've noticed a bug happening between this mod a particular xenotype mod.
I don't know if it happens for other vanilla or modded xenos, but I assume it would occur.
The head or body texture disappears (or is replaced by a missing texture) when a xenogene or xenotype that changes a model also appears with a Sangheili pawn. There are also some contradicting word descriptions for a character with this.

Failed to find any textures at Things/Sangheili/Head/ while constructing Multi(initPath=Things/Sangheili/Head/, color=RGBA(0.600, 0.600, 0.600, 1.000), colorTwo=RGBA(1.000, 1.000, 1.000, 1.000))

I understand this Sangheili was created before Biotech's gene stuff came along. I really like this mod and would love to help out its development somehow, figuring whatever bug reports would at least be something.

I never set up the loadouts they spawn with so it might've just been an oversight. Should be a quick fix that'll pop out next update.

Thank you for the mod, it is super cool!! I noticed when say, the elite faction spawns with friendlies on the map, that their ranged units, be it with vanilla or modded ranged weapons, commonly come equipped with shield belts & end up dying without doing much. Do you think this is a bug caused by another mod messing with their equipment loadout? They all seem to be wearing the correct sangheili armor at least.

@Shoobay While I'd love to, it'd require a rework of almost the whole mod and a complete reframing of how it currently functions. Xenotypes are cool but this mod pre-dates them, so everything we've built so far would need to be redesigned for that.

@Shoobay What list of races? Are you talking about with Biotech? This mod was made before that and isn't a xenotype. You have to create a custom scenario with the faction or use mods like Prepare Carefully or Character Editor.

@Remi I am playing on 1.4 both me and my friend are having this issue. We are able to add the faction but it ends up being 100% baseliners. When customizing pawns during a new save they don't show up on the list of races

@Shoobay What version? Because on my end, it is entirely functional with just this and Humanoid Alien Races in 1.4, and 1.4 is the only one I did the programming for.

Having some issues with this mod. Can't seem to get the race working at all. The faction works but it's entirely made of Baseliners. Tried disabling all mods except for this one and the required Humanoid Alien Races mod but can't figure it out. Any help?
