They are just humans killing each other, which gives you levels.

The adventurer is a decent challenge. You start without many abilities and gain them as you level up.

The keeper has a maxed out ability "breed hell". Might cheer you up.

The spider keeper is just really a maxed out spider adventurer. You need to play her as an adventurer.
