If you're still updating the custom races patch, the Whistler's main race may need to be re-done. The vanilla leftover assets were deleted from the game a while back, and the mod re-added it, but it means the ID to apply the animations to is different now.

If you have custom race this wont work, unless you load FCS and place the animations into your custom race, I dunno how to do it and i've got project kathun going which heavily modifies custom race, seems like the 2 would clash unless maybe you had kathun and this both installed, then duplicated say Twi'lek and created say 'Ascended Twi'lek' and maybe it would have both dodge anims and lightsaber anims. Then you can modify your heal rate or racials or whatever

idk how to fix mine but the enemies strafe but my character doesn't strafe. I tried to import but still the issue is there.

this basically places you in the middle of the group, prime position for them to hit you. doesn't work well for me

Probably not. I would imagine a character hopping around would be hard to hit however I've seen the gunner AI leading its shots before so who knows.

Yeah, big and/or slow weapons will kill you, they just spin with you and finish the attack after you dodge.

This dodge seems really bad, at 60 dodge, my character still gets hit pretty much every time by a single weak enemy with less then 10 attack, they can't win a single one on one against even a starving bandit whereas before I installed this, they just never got hit.

as for the dodge distance, there's not a whole lot i can do about it. due to how the characters will always face each other when in combat, the distance the character dodging moves not only depends on the animation but also the distance to target. if they're closer, they'll move a lot further than if they're further away. this isn't something that modders can adjust.

sorry, it's impossible for this mod to cause that. i don't think any mod has access to the code that affects that, so it's probably a bug in the game

Problem with this mod after I moved a weapon into secondary slot, my character still won't switch to use it. Character still doing MA with weapon in slot even I tried few things. When my character got up after knocked down, it finally use weapon. Also this kind of strafe seemly to be more like ice skating. Passing several hostiles across with lightening speed is too far wide for a strafe.

I know unlikely to happen, but I would love a version of this where the dodge didn't almost 180 right around someone, like, shorter distance sidesteps for more realism.

While the numbers may be different under the hood, In practice is hasn't had any readily noticeable change on gameplay. Tested it against several enemy group sizes, and with the mod on or off.. you will spend about the same amount of time jumping around and not attacking. Unless a "Horde" is any group larger than 2-3 attackers. Against those very small groups/individual opponents, it did make a difference.

Author suggests turning off the faster dodging mod, claiming that the speed is already upped in this mod. If you actually want to fix the "dodge dancing" problem like the author claims, leave dodge speed mod on. Without it, all you do is dodge dance with this new animation and barely ever attack. Nothing changes, except they are actually correct and it makes dodge terrible at low levels. At higher levels.. you dodge dance the same amount as without it, just in circles now.

Speed can be changed in the FCS. Distance is tied to the animation itself, so that would need to be edited in your 3D software of choice.

I like the idea of the mod, but I realize the movement is a bit unrealistic, the character do a very great strafe, not so good to looking, and its inhumane. My opinion its to reduce the speed (just a little) and the distance (by half). Sorry, I'm a realistic bastard :(. Thank you, and keep it up the good work!

Nah, it's pretty simple. Just gotta find the folder where steam downloads the mod from the workshop, copy paste it into your local mods folder, and rename the folder to match the mod name. There's a guide you can find that goes through it in detail. Then you just load the mod through the FCS.

Ah thank you. My other option was just gonna be to load up the fcs and see if I could do it myself. I assume it's not hard to use right? Either way thanks for this mod. Fixes a big issue with unarmed characters

You should just need to put Dodge Strafe underneath their mod. That should overwrite the dodge speed.

Do you think you could make a patch for martial arts rebalanced by crovvv? I like all his other changes except with this mod in combo I get that "flying around the battlefield too much" thing. Dodge is fast

There's a chance that NPC is using a custom race then. I'll take a look later and add it to the custom race patch (linked in the description) if that's the case.

I have the Martial Village mod and I got a Hiver named Meep to join my party. He does not do the dodge and I wanted to know if there is a way to fix it. Great work by the way, it makes my playthrough WAY easier!

Phasing through walls is a general problem with Kenshi, I'm afraid to say. I get the same issue when I'm fighting indoors or on top of defensive walls with weapons. The occasional stumble is very likely to push characters into different areas. Indoor fighting is generally very janky.

If you want some advice for dodge training though, I recommend scrawny cannibal squads in either the cannibal plains or darkfinger (preferably darkfinger so you can run to bastian or bast for help) since they're massive in numbers and very weak. Just get in the middle of a group, go into block mode, and you'll level it up pretty quickly. Just bring a tough character to carry them away if their legs get beat up.

I'm not sure if it's this mod or was always an issue. Currently trying to train dodge on my fighters by locking them in a building with no weapons and some bandits to wail on them. They'll dodge a few hits and get pushed towards the walls, and then just jump outside the building. I tried fighting them out in the wild, but constant interruptions from passing groups or just running away was preventing long term gains.

Hmm... I think the video was at around 30 dexterity and 30 dodge maybe? Weak drifters should not be faster than that. Do you have a mod that changes the dodge speed installed?
