i shee, ah well, its not a huge deal
Zylleon  [autor] 28 oct. la 16:12
OH okay. In that case, I can't fix it. The events in that mod are hard coded, I don't really have a way to patch them. It would have to be updated on VE's end. I've asked about this before but never got a response.
toetruckthetrain 28 oct. la 16:02
what he said
Gerewoatle 28 oct. la 6:56
@Zylleon - They're referring to Vanilla Events Expanded, which contains two events called "Global Warming" and "Ice Age".

Zylleon  [autor] 28 oct. la 5:32
I can't find VE Global Warming, can you link it?
toetruckthetrain 27 oct. la 17:51
each vanilla biome essentially has a warmer and colder counterpart in vanilla rimworld, with the exceptions of the most extreme ones, for example extreme desert has no warmer counterpart, and sea ice has no colder counterpart. during a global warming a temperate forest will turn tropical, tundra will turn into arid shrubland, sea ice into cold bog, desert into extreme desert, etc. etc. and in an ice age a temperate forest will turn boreal, tundra will become ice sheet, tropical forest will become temperate, etc. etc., and they all revert back once the event is over im not suuper familiar with the biomes this mod adds but i assume some of them have counterparts that would work with this system
Zylleon  [autor] 27 oct. la 17:46
I've never used VE Global warming, can you describe exactly what should be happening v what is actually happening? I'll see if I can get it fixed.
toetruckthetrain 27 oct. la 14:48
the biome shift doesnt seem to be, for example glacial shield doesnt have a warmer counterpart in the files i assume, so it remains glacial shield during global warming
Zylleon  [autor] 18 oct. la 16:49
Try it and let me know!
toetruckthetrain 17 oct. la 14:19
does this work with VEE global warming and ice age?
Zylleon  [autor] 30 sept. la 13:45
Load order shouldn't matter, unless or of those mods says otherwise
veoba 30 sept. la 13:16
@Zylleon
How would be better - to load this mod before or after Biome!Core and ReGrowth2 and all there submods?
Zylleon  [autor] 30 sept. la 9:32
All of Rimworld map generation changed with 1.6, that's probably what you're seeing.

On my end, Alpine Meadow didn't change, and nothing in this mod affects mountain or river generation.

I recommend using this with Map Designer and Map Preview, you can probably get exactly what you want with that combo :D
Cole628 30 sept. la 6:21
Curious did the generation model change with 1.6? I pretty much exclusively love to play alpine meadow biome maps that are pretty turtle friendly. I always look for maps where there's a protected little "caldera" like valley with only one way in and out. Ideally with a river in front. Never used to have a problem searching for the right map before. But now it takes me an hour to find a map that's even close to what I used to find. Even then I've struggled to find the type of maps I liked prior to 1.6. Has me thinking the generation changed a bit with 1.6.
tanyfilina 8 sept. la 12:33
Well, I can explain, why I want them in Coastal Dunes. Since they take most of the coastal tiles, especially out of dry biomes, they usually get all deltas tiles. And it's historically accurate to have fertile deltas in dry biomes :)
Zylleon  [autor] 8 sept. la 7:44
That makes sense, it was a design choice to leave riverbanks out of some biomes. I'll revisit that whenever I do the next update (won't necessarily add them, but will play around with it a bit more and see if I get something I like)
tanyfilina 5 sept. la 22:43
Ah, found it! (What is worst, I've already found it previously, but forgot..)
riverbankSizeRange is lacking in Cloud Forests and Coastal Dunes.
tanyfilina 5 sept. la 22:39
I've tested with only Harmony and this mod, and situation is still the same: no riverbanks in Cloud Forests.
tanyfilina 2 sept. la 21:41
It works in Alpine Meadows, but doesn't work in Cloud Forests and Coastal Dunes. I have Map Designer mod. Everything worked with it previously, it was updated on 30.08, but nothing reelated to rivers... Also, Geological Landforms.
Zylleon  [autor] 2 sept. la 12:52
tanyfilina: Which biomes specifically, and do you have any other mods that might affect map generation? Nothing related to riverbanks has changed recently in this mod, but I might be able to help troubleshoot

Copy: Yes, but new biomes won't show up on the world map until a brand new world map is generated
Copy 2 sept. la 4:00
load Mid Save? with out Problem
tanyfilina 1 sept. la 22:12
Cannot get riverbanks in modded biomes anymore, although it worked few days before
biship 28 aug. la 6:26
Fantastic update, thanks.
Zylleon  [autor] 27 aug. la 18:13
Update: Better integration for Odyssey's weather and tile features. If playing with Odyssey, expect more weather variety. On world maps, expect to see more tile features and for the tile features to make more sense for the biome.
Azerbaijan_Technology 17 aug. la 12:18
I hate temperate forest i hate temperate forest!
Zylleon  [autor] 17 aug. la 11:11
Update: plants and animals from Odyssey are now patched into biomes from this mod
Zylleon  [autor] 14 aug. la 7:24
Nope, should be compatible
BottledDew 13 aug. la 18:16
Does this conflict with regrowth 2?
Zylleon  [autor] 5 aug. la 6:56
Yep, it's on the to do list
qux 4 aug. la 12:00
Hi ! Is it possible to patch biomes with odyssey content ? (for example vanilla swamp has new plants, fish, weather)
Ing 4 aug. la 9:10
And thank you for the wonderful mod! :beeped:
Zylleon  [autor] 4 aug. la 8:51
Thank you! I added it to the description.
Ing 4 aug. la 8:19
Hello, I have translated your mod into Ukrainian. Here is the link: https://gtm.steamproxy.vip/sharedfiles/filedetails/?edit=true&id=3542012777
Zylleon  [autor] 26 iul. la 22:06
Thanks! Added those to the list
Tyrannidae 26 iul. la 18:51
If you're still keeping track of mods that have patches for this, my other mods, Bird Up+ and Birds of the World, also support this mod (asking since I see Little Critters on there)
Zylleon  [autor] 26 iul. la 17:55
Update:
- Grasslands has been renamed to Stormy Savanna, as this is in line with my vision for the biome and differentiates it from Odyssey's Grassland. Storms may be a little more common. Description has been updated as well, for the same reason.
- Iceberg has been renamed to Ice Floes, which is a more accurate description of the biome.
- Updated description for Glacial Shield, to better distinguish it from Glacial Plain (which is a very different biome)

I've also updated all the preview images on Steam!
NumberNegative 26 iul. la 16:33
Renaming Grasslands to Plains might work
Zylleon  [autor] 25 iul. la 5:31
Yes, I'm keeping them. The names are much more similar than the actual biomes, and removing them would cause problems for existing games.
EnderMelody 24 iul. la 14:45
are you keeping the similar ones to the ones in the update in? id like to not have overlap though iirc you have a config to disable biomes in the mod.
Maixaips 22 iul. la 12:27
ok thx
Zylleon  [autor] 22 iul. la 12:25
The similarly-named biomes are Glacial Plains (glacial shield) and Grasslands (grasslands). There was also an "iceberg" map feature added (not a biome). I've renamed the Iceberg biome to Ice Floes. Glacial shield will stay the same, and I'm still deciding for Grasslands.

The look and feel of these seems quite different from my versions, and I don't think Odyssey or 1.6 has anything similar to any of the other MVB biomes.
Zylleon  [autor] 22 iul. la 12:19
Odyssey added a couple biomes that are kind of similar to some MVB biomes, though they seem more similar in name than in execution. MVB is still alive and well, and I'm planning more updates to further differentiate the similar-aounsing biomes
Maixaips 22 iul. la 11:56
So wait, im coming back to rimworld and your mod is listed in the "Dead Mods in 1.6 list" as a mod that was integrated into the game. Is that correct? Since it was updated recently im kinda doubting that list
ObscureParticle 15 iul. la 20:54
I think there is is significant difference in the looks. Trees from the Odyssey Grasslands are the same as the ones in the temperate biome, just more scarse. The main theme is the goldern grass, windy (which increases the energy output form the wind turbines and no geysers to be found on the map. It also will NOT spawn on mountain tiles. However, they can both coexist as they are currently. Oh, and the animal generation in yours is a little different, cant really explain exactly how. Seems like yours has more large animal herds on the typical day like elephants and hippos, which are a little more rare on the Odyssey one.
ObscureParticle 15 iul. la 20:36
Savannah, Prairie, Plains
Zylleon  [autor] 14 iul. la 9:52
I'll definitely take ideas! I still need to do a deep dive into Odyssey to get a good feel for the new biomes, and for the new animals that got added.

The inspiration for MVBs grasslands was more "lion King" than "little house on the prairie" so I'm currently I'm hoping to lean more into a "savanah" vibe. That depends on Odyssey's grassland, obviously - if they went hard in that direction and I can't differentiate, I'll do something else with it.
@Zylleon could i throw you an idea? What if it was renamed "Tallgrass prairie" and a lot of prairie dogs (if Odyssey enabled), bunnies, guinea pigs, muffalo and other prairie animals like to spawn there. It could be a lusher version of the grassland maybe. Well just a thought, at least i would love that.
Zylleon  [autor] 13 iul. la 20:37
No, both spawn. I will be renaming Grasslands to something more distinct and possibly making some adjustments to reduce overlap. In the meantime, you can disable Grasslands in the settings if you like
DuckGoosebear PrairieDogLover 13 iul. la 19:59
Does this mods grassland affect the odyssey grassland?
Zylleon  [autor] 13 iul. la 18:27
Dealer - thanks!
