@Ēarendel: For WH3 we wanted to shift the way the faction looks and feels in a completely different direction than what we did in WH2. The goal is to have a more warhammerized mix of ancient south american cultures, aesthetics and myths.
For this reason we did not bother to port the textures, as everything will have to be created from scratch anyway.

Gotcha. Sounds exciting. But if its ported why hasn't it been released? Would be nice to have until it's depreciated with a future update.

@Ēarendel: The mod itself has long been ported to WH3, but we are reworking basically everything: faction theme, unit roster, textures, animations, heroes, technologies, buildings, faction mechanics etc. So the whole process takes a lot of time and effort from multiple people, who are still focused on bringing the halflings to WH3 first.

Still not on WH3 is it not compatible that badly?

@Asar_Waroth: currently progress is rather slow as we decided to prioritise halflings for the time being. Also many members of OvN are taking a break from modding.

@Lemur: Not sure which units you are referring to with special, but if you mean the regiments of renown, some unlock by lord levels and some via the sacrifices mechanics, which also gives access to some other units like the giant snake, coatl and jungle spirits.

@ Ubermorgen. Thanks for the answer. It is very clear. I also found out that there is a submod available for "Dogs of war". I have tried it and it works quite well. This is indeed an amazing set of units and the roster is comprehensive. Well done.

@Jestimac: If you only have this mod enabled any lizardmen faction can recruit the amazons units. If you enable it alongside mixu's unlocker + OvN they will be their own faction. No other factions have access to the units.

I also saw OVN mentioned in the comments. I'm not sure about what this is ?

The "expanded roster" mod indicates the Amazons are available only in custom battles. It seems to indicate that they would be available for campaigns only for Lizardmen or only in conjunction with the use of "Lost factions" and "Mixu's Unlocker".
Does this mean that the amazons are not available to join a Dark Elves army ?
