I welcome this mod and others that restore balance to the game. I have ranted on Discord that the game is horribly out of balance in Advents favor. My analogy on this is a HS football team playing against an NFL premier team !

This... This feels like cheating

Ruins the game imo. How can a tongue pull you through walls and floors from such an epic distance? One move and your person is dead. Seriously kills the fun.

Oh thank you. I'm tired of feeling like I'm playing against an 11 year old who just figured out they could use the ability, and getting spammed by this BS

You didn't pass the vipe check.

So for your next mod, XCom won't be able to shoot or move?
Beelzebub 20 Dec, 2019 @ 6:37pm
whats the armor guy on left has?
@R+5 13 Dec, 2019 @ 5:22pm
can this work if i turn it on mid game?
@R+5 13 Dec, 2019 @ 5:20pm
i think it could be possible to do what BobbyHill comments if the grabbing could be limited to 1 square in front of the viper: that way it would work like a close range special attack, rather than a "god mode fy attack".

can we get one that keeps the binding but removes the grabbing?
Destroyox 27 Nov, 2019 @ 8:37pm
Do you plan on making mods that remove all of the mobility blocking abilities enemies have?
Pencilartguy 27 Nov, 2019 @ 6:28pm
Thanks for this mod. I didn't use this to complete remove the ability for the Vipers to grab and bind but I did edit it to reduce it, where they would more likely use poison spit or their rifles and only grab you if you were too close.

This also does affect Playable Vipers, for anyone who wants to know.

Do you even flashbang bro?

Thanks!

Oh man! One of the things I like most is the viper king and his ability to grab and bound my soldiers - and than let the victim fall down unconcious after one round...

@McGibblers
This *should* work with modded enemies, it depends on how they work, like if they use the base game Viper bind settings, but I believe any Viper unit I have seen does this. Though I have only been able to test with vanilla Vipers.

This is tempting me to make a joke mod that gives the Viper bind and/or grab infinite range by setting these range settings to 0, as in my tests the system interpreted that as having no limit and the Vipers just slid around the map binding everyone :cozycastondeath:
Dęąth Viper 25 Nov, 2019 @ 11:56pm
does this work with modded enemies
Juravis 25 Nov, 2019 @ 10:22pm
I see you are going for my "Most visited, least subscribed" mod title championship. I still think Anti-Beaglerush will beat you.

I agree actually, I mainly made this mod to open up some more experimental campaigns I wanted to run such as one where I plan to run the game with only a max squad size of 1 or 2 soldiers, which would normally lead to instant defeat versus the Viper grab since it relies on a strong ally presence. I would do something more intricate for Viper manipulations, but alas I personally lack the time or skill to do so, so I figured this would do the trick for the time being.
superluminal traumaslut 25 Nov, 2019 @ 8:06pm
i like the idea of nerfing the tongue pull, but i feel like reducing it to a shorter range instead of no range at all would be better
Californiadreaming 25 Nov, 2019 @ 6:14pm
I agree w/ @MrShadowCX. I would like to see a couple of changes, such as no grabbing anyone under full cover or vipers grabbing while in full cover, but nerfing them this much takes the "oh shit..." factor out of them.
MrShadow 25 Nov, 2019 @ 6:07pm
Not sure dumbing down the Viper makes it better.
