Overly complicated, in one room there was no obvious goal or exit, and with no walkthrough found on google I give up. The start bit was nice. Everybody likes the jumps I suspect.

Very accurate title, its nice to see a workshop test that isnt 75% fizzlers and uses them as dividers between sections like god and gaben intended

Thanks for the feedback. When I made this map I found that you can't always see the symbols from where you stand, so I decided to leave them out completely. Glad to know you still had fun!
Bayram 26 Mar, 2021 @ 7:09pm
It was fun, although I'd appreciate symbols to indicate the control connections. I found myself doing the same thing over and over because I'd forgotten how I got to where I was. (Did that even make sense?)

So disappointed that the weighted cube has no use at the end. Regardless, nice test chamber. Thanks!

Other than the lack of a save-point when moving to the second room, it is an alright puzzle.
PortalFan 27 May, 2015 @ 3:30pm
The first part of the map is easy but very well designed. The end is a very good puzzle. Thanks !

Yes, I know what you mean. I thought the puzzle was satisfying enough at this level, but I know it is possible. It was even possible to take 2 cubes to the end, but I prevented this with the fizzler right before the puzzle. The other map I mentioned has two switches to trigger the stairs instead of one. The other switch is a cube switch, which requires you to retreive the cube and leave it behind. I tried to make a map in which you should never need to restart and if it was required to take the cube down, I would have created a way to go back so people could get it if they forgot to take it. Because you are thinking like this, you will have an advantage in the 5th map this series. I hope you try that one as well. I'm currently trying to fix a shortcut in that map, but since I can't place any more objects it is taking me a while haha.
EvilHeavy™ 7 Dec, 2013 @ 1:02am
Yes. you DO need both cubes, however I thought that it was possible to use one of the cubes a bit more. Thought I woulda been able to leave the level with it, had the fizzler not been there.
harald_snel  [author] 7 Dec, 2013 @ 12:54am
Dear ASoG.EvilHeavy™,
Thank you for the comment. The ending of the map is copied to the first map in the "Think and win" series. Everything is the same, but to reach the end you need both cubes. If you like you can check it out and tell me if that is what you were talking about.
EvilHeavy™ 6 Dec, 2013 @ 8:35pm
Nice! Coulda put some more use in that cube near the end, though. I found a way to get that cube out, while still having the laser redirection cube.
harald_snel  [author] 4 Dec, 2013 @ 2:55pm
Thanks for the comment Spikenzelda, I'm glad you enjoyed the map :).
spikenzelda 4 Dec, 2013 @ 2:54pm
I'm used to the majority of puzzles having timers on their hand pressed buttons, so it was indeed refreshing to have no "timing" bullshit to worry about. Good level of difficulty throughout, it was pretty easy breezy through the first 80% but then i had to do a double take with the lazers at the end which was a nice change of pace. The massive strip of light at the end was a goofy touch but it made me feel warm inside.

Definitely a good progression of skill level from the first map of the series.

Nice puzzle you got here!

good
harald_snel  [author] 15 Nov, 2013 @ 12:52am
Dear all!,
I have finally placed a fizzler. Since there is no way to take the first cube with you now, I have also deleted the portability on the floor in the puzzle room. I'm hoping the feeling towards the puzzle stays the same!
harald_snel  [author] 15 Nov, 2013 @ 12:00am
no problem Scoundrel, as long as you have fun playing :).
Scoundrel 14 Nov, 2013 @ 6:00pm
Ah, yes, I see the solution now. Laser angles are not my strong suit. In playing these user-created maps, I am finding lots of tricks that the sinmgle player campaign did not require (some of them I don;t find out until I watch a playthrough or look at a spoiler, and my brain is not as flexible as it once was. I've been out of the puzzle business for a long time.

This should have done the trick for you. As you can see, there is another cube
harald_snel  [author] 11 Nov, 2013 @ 1:20am
Dear Scoundrel,
Even tho you made it difficult for yourself, in this scenario you can still finish the map. The puzzle consists of a few steps of which the first is to get a cube, so that part you can actually skip. If you leave the first cube on the weighted switch there is no way to destroy it, but you can still trigger a switch to continue the puzzle. It would be a spoiler if I explained it here, but I'll upload you a printscreen of a solution. No hard stuff.
Scoundrel 10 Nov, 2013 @ 10:32pm
This one felt more like a puzzle and less like an obstacle course than the first one. I did manage to bring a cube into the laser room with me, which I am pretty sure I wasn't supposed to be able to do, and it enabled me to do things out of sequence, resulting in me being locked outside the death wall with one cube out there and another inside keeping the death wall active. No amount of cube-throwing or playing with lasers and portals presented a way to fix it or a way back so I could fizzle my cube. Ended up committing suicide so I could start over. Didn't bring the extra cube with me the second time around, handily solved it then. Also, I didn't use one of the jump pads. Just made portals to get where I needed to go instead. I enjoyed the chamber.
VisualBacon 10 Nov, 2013 @ 10:10pm
Saweet. very satisfying.
Chameleon 10 Nov, 2013 @ 5:59pm
Great puzzle. There were some points when I thought there was something faulty with the creation of it but I finally figured it out.
