The mod is fine, but raids of 30+ units with MK maces that hit 60dmg on gates and near total harpoon resistance is a little silly. I like the vibe and the dialogue, but fighting big groups is more of a teeth pull than beak things

Is there a way to deal with the problem where the character models aren't loading, so the Oni don't just appear invisible

these guys are pretty nasty but any mid-late game character should be able to handle them in a 1v1 because of their slow attack speed. recommend subbing to the revision mod though so they stop raiding/spawning a million miles away from venge.

I've been playing as a Hazard Skeleton for a while now; A mechanical merchant with whom I plan to build an emporium one day. This character, called RU-N1 "Rune" was once a shelf filler at the warehouse of a travelling merchant, but upon his boss's death decided to pick up the trade himself.

I've been travelling quite a bit so far with some bodyguards and a couple of mercs, and the guy has yet to die. Really enjoying myself so far. I even ran into the Oni recently on a risky and nearly fatal expedition to Brink (as a stop before my final destination in another town), and oh boy, it took the entire town guard and half the night to take that thing down. I was lucky to have outrun it.

8 ball won't spawn in brink for me :(

Would it be possible to get version that only has the unique npc to recruit?

This mod is super fun, but I've run into issues crafting Oni Hazard shells. I acquired the blueprints to make them, but they don't show up in the Heavy Armor Smithy. Anyone know which crafting table makes them, or is this a bug?

I love 8-Ball though, he's so tanky and rotund.

The Tower with the Long Lost Oni seems to have pathing issues, unable to enter it.

where i can find recrutable Oni?

Oni Hazard Shells have blueprints that are lootable but they are no attached tot he heavy armor table armor crafts list so the Blueprints don't do anything.

Small Bug I just found looking at the stats Non Oni Hazard Units have their "Combat move Speed Multi" set to 9 instead of 0.9 unlike the Oni Hazard and all other Skeletons

Just discovered the oni and boy are they a ball! Found a tower of trial with beep while solo and decided to explore, naturally he said hes a skeleton too, and the oni didnt like that and then about 8 onis jumped beep, beep managed to exit the tower with 3 following him, knocked them out and stole their armour, great for surviving venge. Naturally he wasn't finished exploring the tower so using stealth he systematically knocked out the oni, then realised he could just put them all in a peeler, he was lucky he did, because eventually he got knocked out and they couldn't put him in a peeler because they were already full, managed to recover enough to escape running away with them screaming about the irony if their situations. So great so far, and i love the weapon and the lore.

Last night my team got kidnapped by a platoon of Oni. Long story short, they peeled all of the captured except one -- they kept him alive. Over a dozen of them working to heal him faster than he could be peeled, but they didn't do this until he was down to one limb.

They seem so naturally diabolical it's a keeper for me. I have already captured two, and I use them for combat training, which seems to work great for now because they can soak some hits.

In order to do anything about their bases I feel the best option is to set up a "combat hospital" (enough healing beds to heal people within the map section) and lure them out one by one, but with thrall masters running around Venge a combat hospital strategy will be tedious. So far no raids on my outpost from these devils

Are these supposed to have a pretty slow swing speed?

Is 8-ball supposed to have over 100 strength? I recruited him and he started out at 108! I dunno if it's due to the 1.5x racial bonus or what, but it's a little crazy.

A little heads up for anyone wanting to use this mod in the future: It's hasn't been updated for 4 years now.
Be expected to have to deal with frequent oni raids that consists of about a dozen onis, each with 350-400hp limbs and absurd stats should you decided to make a base anywhere on the map. Should your base gets wiped, you better prepare to have a plan to rescue any of your guys who got carried away or else they will get peeled.

It's very unique and well made, but not fun to play with, a pass for me.

I found a group in a tower and I stole some stuff. They almost killed me.
I imprisoned a dude on the road and the Vengeful assault almost killed my base. I now have guys with missing legs.

Oni's towers are a real pain to deal with.
It's almost as excruciating as dealing with infinite beak things in Crater with ranged only and slow low tech units.

They just keep repairing, summoning new onis and stuffing your knocked out characters into peelers. They do so even if they got their legs busted due to high STR. One of them crawled all the way up to the top of the tower where I put those who passed out and stuffed my main OC into a peeler. It was really creepy move.

It's almost impossible to take on with pure blood human team.

It's perfection of its own.

I wish that they would have more presence in world dialogues and more specific sounds - music themes and walking SFX for the betterment of the feeling of pure horror force they represent..

How do i kill the Blue Oni?? he just keeps repairing while he's playing dead.
I can never deal enough damage to kill him not even with a martial artist since he will just reboot before dying.
And neither i can make him bleed, not even with yellow holy nation weapons??? what else can i do?

Love this mod, 8-ball is cool. I havnt had any issues with balance. Would be nice to have limb replacements for them or no limb loss.

I seem to have come upon the conflict where I can't enter the ruined tower as well. In a different save I got to enter just fine, but in this new game I made I can't get in the door, and the Oni's inside can't exit the tower

Also, is there a way to introduce Oni-like robotic limbs? 8-Ball lost an arm and using a normal skeleton limb make him look so janky in his armor I switched him out of it.

What I did to enter the tower was open the SHIFT+F12 menu, move the tower like a quarter of an inch to the side, hit the 'Fix Stuff' button, then the 'Regenerate Sector' button a few times. I knew it worked the moment Onis started pouring out.
Speaking of which, I would have liked the whole Long-Lost Oni recruitment dialogue to be more explicit that the Blue Oni needed to be DEAD, and not just taken out (i.e. dropped for 80k catans bounty). Actually openened up the mod in the FCS to check, because I was a bit confused. Normally, for most world change checks, imprisoned works as well death, but not this time.

Cant seem to enter the ruined tower of trial with a lost oni, wont let me in the door.

So like why are these hazard units so bent on torturing their victims as long as possible. I mean putting my entire party in the peeler and healing them up again over and over?
