i hope this comes back for 1.1

Please update this. I hate autoroofing almost as much as I hate not having Haul Urgently. I hate 1.1.
Blue North Star 1 Feb, 2020 @ 2:02pm
@ChunkyBluntz - Where? Cause I've never seen anything that lets me do this. Especially not in the lower right.
Mr-Bandit 28 Jan, 2020 @ 7:44pm
YES!! you sir have single handedly saved my sanity! i have been screaming for this for years!

I've put up 2x 2 tile thick walls with a space for movement between them because sappers are dicks. An "Ignore Roof Area" becomes a "Build Roof Area" every time a single wall tile is completed. Marking it as "Remove Roof Area" wastes a pawn's whole day because dumb pathing. It would be ideal if you could toggle this in game.

@Chunky Doesn't exist. Check for yourself, don't rely on your memory of such a thing existing.
ChunkyBluntz 16 Nov, 2019 @ 12:04am
You can just shut off the automatic roof building in the lower right of your hud, no need for a mod that simply flips a switch in front of you.... just sayin lol

This will be useful when I'm expanding my prisons after a raid. My colonists don't seem to understand that prisoners need thick walls, not roofs.

2The Reading Rambo: my answer was about save-compatibility
Evelyn 28 Oct, 2019 @ 9:46pm
@Gem Ah, you're right. The way he phrased it, I thought it was a response to the other statement. My bad!
countlessCritters 28 Oct, 2019 @ 7:26pm
Rambo, your reading skills need work. fed1s was confirming Eryxienne's question/statement that the mod can be added to existing saves, not anything about the button.
Evelyn 28 Oct, 2019 @ 12:57pm
If it does actually exist, go and tell all of us what the text inside the tooltip for that button says to prove you actually found it.
Evelyn 28 Oct, 2019 @ 12:56pm
@lars I thought it existed too, but it doesn't. Go into your game and look for that button, it doesn't exist.

@fed1s No, you can't. ??? You're the mod creator who literally created this mod because that feature doesn't exist, you should be on his side of this debate lol
Steap 27 Oct, 2019 @ 10:08am
not a lot of people seem to know about it but there is a button in the lower right that you can click to disable automatic roof construction
Blue North Star 27 Oct, 2019 @ 4:32am
Hmmm. Well if so, i never found out a way, besides disabling their ability to construct entirely.
fed1s  [author] 27 Oct, 2019 @ 4:08am
2Eryxienne - yes, you can.
lilwhitemouse 27 Oct, 2019 @ 1:31am
"The game thinks it knows better than you what rooms need a roof? Enough of that! No more autoroof!" - rough idiomatic translation
Evelyn 26 Oct, 2019 @ 5:38pm
I was almost positive that the vanilla game added one of those toggle buttons in the bottom right to prevent autoroofing, but upon actually checking for that button, it wasn't there. Only a "toggle roof visibility" and "toggle automatic home zone expansion". Nothing in the options menu either.
It seems this is indeed NOT a redundant mod, and honestly should have already been in the vanilla game. Thanks mod creator!
Blue North Star 25 Oct, 2019 @ 6:34pm
@Deyon - No, you can't do that, without disabling their ability to construct.

@fed1s - This is save-game compatible? (You can add this to existing-save)
Deyon 25 Oct, 2019 @ 1:46pm
you can already do this, its in the bottom right with a house icon i believe
Zim777 25 Oct, 2019 @ 6:53am
You know you can turn off automatic roofing in game already right?
and where is this button?
Blu Macaw 25 Oct, 2019 @ 5:08am
You know you can turn off automatic roofing in game already right? It's pointless to make mod out of this.
