@ebuyuran did you try to conquer Black Pyramid of Nagasn to check it? Cause it's only for that now. There are some staff to do, as CA decided not to do cultures options for some settlements and I have to check and rewrite it from 0.

Hope you can figure this out. It's so annoying that they removed this feature after WH1, I never settle in regions that don't have the same texture as my faction anymore because of this, it just looks dumb having Lizardmen occupying Dark Elf settlements. I've used the Cultural Settlement skin mod you linked before but never liked the clipping either, so best of luck I'm excited to see if you get it working!

@Vandy but usually PFM marks empty rows, as mistakes... Hmm... Well, it doesn't matter, cause it was raw mod version. I have tried some other staff, but still without results.

Using PFM adds empty rows when you paste a bunch of data, empty rows 100% cause crashes on load up. Also yeah it's for sure an old version, they removed some buildings you reference

@Mr.Necrophile no. I suppose, it's pointless.

@Vandy I just copy tables from original game data.pack with no new rows. Empty rows don't affect at game crashes. Probably that happens because it's old version file.

Regarding locating the files and lines relevant to Skaven overwriting of settlement skins - have you tried asking CA?

A) your mod references some non-existent building levels in the db table. All of the Gaean Vale ones at the top of the file don't exist (wh2_main_special_city_gaean_vale_other_ruin)
B) the bottom of that table includes a bunch of empty rows

Both of those will cause crashes. Look up the Rusted Pack File Manager and use that instead

I know, that couple settlements change their skins, moreover we have overwrite system at scavens (they overwrite other settlements as ruins). I am trying to find this system in data files, but still have no idea where it is and how i can make same system for other races.

yea i noticed too that dwarf main city gets swapped for a greenskin city when destroyed by skaven? Seams like settlement swapping is still in the game but is messed up? :S

I am not an expert. But looks like in case with Barak Varr the only option is - clearly new model that would look nice in both of Barak Varr and randomly chosen coast settlement.

wow this would be the best and a must have mod if it worked, my biggest complaint about second game is no regional visual change on cities and battle maps when conquered. Thank you for trying to fix it

I did some more testing but it seems the current version is not working. Reading through the comments seems like this is also the case for everybody else.
However I still believe this is something which is moddable.

I also offer my help if you need some more people to test something.

If you need any help for testing on this Mod let me know. Can't stand looking at the dwarf campaign map with all greenskin buildings. Such a shame CA can't do this themselves.

You can change the default settlement skin in the campaign_settlement_display_buildings, this only effect the campaign map though not battle map.

But both Wood Elve and Skaven settlement have custom battle map, both walled and unwalled.
