ALT 3 doesn't work on AZERTY keyboard. Any workaround ?

oh ok:steamthumbsdown:
Professor Cupcake  [author] 3 Jun, 2023 @ 12:22pm
Apologies, but no. I'm not doing ARK stuff currently, and never had any plans to add taming info anyway.
brodypaulherman 3 Jun, 2023 @ 11:38am
can you add the info that show what food the dino needs or how to tame
Professor Cupcake  [author] 18 Feb, 2023 @ 11:32am
Correct. This was never intended to include eggs info. It always seemed a bit weird to me that spyglass mods included that. I was planning a separate breeding mod with more interesting stuff, but... y'know, hard drive space.
Aquila_XIII 18 Feb, 2023 @ 11:05am
Missing eggs info
Professor Cupcake  [author] 22 Jan, 2023 @ 2:34am
Settings are accessed by pressing SHIFT+P with the binoculars equipped, and there isn't a way to turn off the GPS, sorry.
SHADOWxMM 21 Jan, 2023 @ 5:00pm
are there any ini settings? specifically to turn off the GPS with the ocular implant?
Professor Cupcake  [author] 4 Jan, 2022 @ 10:13am
That's still like 500GB. Way more drive space than I have right now.
MeatShield 3 Jan, 2022 @ 7:07pm
@Professor Cupcake

If you enable NTFS file compression on Ark, it reduces the size of ark by quite a bit. For me it went from 408 GB to 248 GB. As long as you're not running on a potato you shouldn't notice any performance issues.

Ark dev kit went from 346 GB to 284 GB. I doesn't seem any slower to me.
Vadderung 3 Jan, 2022 @ 6:43pm
Cupcake, love the mod. thanks
Professor Cupcake  [author] 31 Oct, 2021 @ 10:25am
More "dormant".

ARK is fucking huge. Having it and the devkit installed takes up a quarter of my drive space. Sometimes I want to do other things, y'know?

What's currently there should still be fairly functional.
degobah75 30 Oct, 2021 @ 10:41pm
Is this Mod dead or are their plans for future updates?
Cerberus 29 Sep, 2021 @ 12:17pm
Where are the item IDs?
guig 17 Sep, 2021 @ 12:39pm
thx a lot for this ! and for adding selvision ui !
biscuit 13 Sep, 2021 @ 2:39am
love this mod !
would recomend it <3
Professor Cupcake  [author] 7 Jul, 2021 @ 5:39am
Latest update adds the SelVision-alike UI, meaning this mod has finally achieved its original purpose. Huzzah?

With this comes the ability for the UI to display the listed diet of the targeted creature. For most creatures, this can be found dynamically just fine, but some of them don't have this field set (e.g. the rock elemental). For those, I have an override system set up, and have manually gone through and added the relevant creatures and their proper diets. However, I might have missed some, so if you do spot anything with an incorrect diet listed, please tell me and I'll add it.

In future, I'll have it set up to use a config entry, so that it can be customised on your end (which will also allow you to add mod creatures to it). For now, it's just hard-coded.
Professor Cupcake  [author] 7 Jul, 2021 @ 4:50am
I am always looking for ideas.

I think, if I were to implement that, I'd keep the spyglass as-is. I do like the thought of adding a bit more to the v1 binoculars since, at the moment, they're really just a more expensive spyglass.

I plan to add the GPS coordinates to the v1 binocs soon (currently, they're tied in with the dino stat display, so it needs a little bit of rejigging), so I think I'll investigate possible implementations while I'm on with that. No guarantees though.
MeatShield 6 Jul, 2021 @ 7:30pm
Are you looking for suggestions/requests? If not no worries, love the mod so far.

If you are… I would love to see a weaker version of the dino stat viewer for the lower tier versions.

Something like the spyglass tells you the highest stat and the lowest stat (by name, not value) so you can weed out the puny looking dinos but not know exactly what the stats are.

Maybe Binoculars v1 could order all the stats high to low, but again not give numbers. Players would be able to weed out some of the dinos, but not to the extent that v2 lets players.

:]
Cerberus 25 Jun, 2021 @ 11:13pm
Love the last update!!
Professor Cupcake  [author] 15 May, 2021 @ 4:24am
It is not.

It's supposed to take a significant portion of your current health, and can kill you if you're extremely low on health (<10). Were there any damage-multiplying effects active, or sources of damage over time?
FeralFoxwife 14 May, 2021 @ 7:34pm
Is the ocular implant supposed to kill you and not let you install it?
Professor Cupcake  [author] 7 Mar, 2021 @ 4:36am
Whoops. You'd think I'd know better, considering...
[TKC]olT3lo 7 Mar, 2021 @ 4:30am
Got it. Instead of "WeaponCupVisionBinocularsV1_C" for each of the binoc items, it just needed to be "CupVisionBinocularsV1_C". Changed 1 thru 4 in the ini and they were no longer listed in engrams. Thanks again!
[TKC]olT3lo 7 Mar, 2021 @ 4:15am
Hey thanks! Only problem is, the binoculars v1 thru v4 are still showing in the engrams list. I spot checked the others and I didn't see them. Going to see if I can figure it out...
Professor Cupcake  [author] 6 Mar, 2021 @ 4:57pm
Also these, which didn't fit in the character limit:-

OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="EngramEntry_CupVisionOcularImplant_C",EngramHidden=true)
OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="EngramEntry_CupVisionOcularImplant_NVGUpgrade_C",EngramHidden=true)
OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="EngramEntry_CupVisionOcularImplant_Predator_C",EngramHidden=true)

Disclaimer: I'm not 100% sure if these are formatted correctly. You can have a look here [ark.gamepedia.com] to check for yourself.
Professor Cupcake  [author] 6 Mar, 2021 @ 4:56pm
Add these to your Game.ini:-

OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="EngramEntry_WeaponCupVisionBinocularsV1_C",EngramHidden=true)
OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="EngramEntry_WeaponCupVisionBinocularsV2_C",EngramHidden=true)

OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="EngramEntry_WeaponCupVisionBinocularsV4_C",EngramHidden=true)
OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName="EngramEntry_SuperScope_C",EngramHidden=true)

I only want the zoom on the spyglass. Any way to disable the other features via ini?
Mark-James 8 Feb, 2021 @ 9:40am
Been going through a few spyglass mods to see what would be cool to use once Genesis part 2 comes out for a server with friends, and this was the coolest spyglass mod I've seen.

I love the sense of progression with multiple binoculars at different levels instead of just one powerful spyglass like how other mods do it. :steamthumbsup:
Jewels 24 Sep, 2020 @ 7:25pm
Implant keybinds still dont persist after logout with the latest update. Unfortunately, this includes the new Alt+Backspace to remove them making dying the only way to remove them after a relog.
GV. 24 Sep, 2020 @ 7:23pm
awesome to see that you are working on it again man. thanks :)
Cerberus 21 Sep, 2020 @ 11:29am
OMG, that would be awesome! Btw, pretty fast response!. Good to know the mod is being improved and updated, keep it up!
Professor Cupcake  [author] 21 Sep, 2020 @ 10:03am
There is not; those coordinates bars are a feature of the standard Ark binoculars, so blame Wildcard for how weird and unreadable it is.

If I can figure out a way to do it without breaking everything, I'll see if I can add a numerical display on top of the bars somewhere.
Cerberus 21 Sep, 2020 @ 9:26am
Hi, i'm loving this mod!. I just have one question/suggestion, is there a way to see coordinates in a numerical way aside from the side numbers on the binoculars? I find it a bit hard to tell the exact position. Thanks!
Professor Cupcake  [author] 6 Sep, 2020 @ 6:23am
Well, I've worked out the issue regarding the engrams not appearing, thanks to the testing of a different mod.

Turns out if you have multiple mods trying to add engrams to the same crafting station, it will only add those from the top mod in the list. This makes the entire feature absolutely useless (the whole point of it is supposed to be to allow multiple mods to add their engrams without conflicting), and as far as I can tell it has been broken this way for at least 4 years.

But hey, at least we now have space whales. Thanks, Wildcard.

So in future versions, everything will be crafted in-hand. That, at least, works reliably. I hope.
Professor Cupcake  [author] 9 Jun, 2020 @ 11:25am
Thanks, I just hope I can finish it one day.
Kaijin 8 Jun, 2020 @ 8:17pm
Hey, thank you for the really fast reply. Tried it with the ranged weapon melee and it works great :steamhappy:

Thank you for the great mod!
Professor Cupcake  [author] 8 Jun, 2020 @ 1:19am
What I call "alt-fire" is CTRL, iirc. Whichever button it is to melee with ranged weapons.

Apologies about the confusion there; in the devkit, "alt-fire" refers to this bind, whereas I see now that the aim bind is also referred to as "alt-fire" in-game.
Kaijin 7 Jun, 2020 @ 5:26pm
I'm loving the mod, but I have a question regarding Binoculars v4.

It says to use the 'Alt-Fire' button while looking through the binoculars to activate the creature detector, but I have to press and hold alt fire to even look through the binoculars in the first place. So I am not sure how I could activate it?

Tried on a mounted dino since that auto-zooms in, but it only made me use my mount's secondary attack.
Thoryon 29 Apr, 2020 @ 11:59am
Awesome mod and a must have for everyone playing with Floating Names disabled.
Thanks a lot
Professor Cupcake  [author] 9 Apr, 2020 @ 2:37am
Since I'm away for a while (and someone asked), I've decided to just open up the source for this: https://github.com/ProfCupcake/CupVision-public
SOBEK 13 Mar, 2020 @ 3:24am
Hi. Problem is with crafting, crafting stations dont show any spyglass, cant get mod to work anymore :) Mod have future but must by update. So good luck :)
Professor Cupcake  [author] 22 Feb, 2020 @ 2:52pm
Unfortunately, due to the ridiculous size of ARK and its devkit, I'm not going to be able to work on this (or anything else ARK-related) for a while. The current version is mostly-stable (other than the ocular implant), so it'll have to do for now.

Maybe in a few months, if I get an extra terabyte or two of storage (or if Wildcard finally start compressing their fukken game), I'll come back to ARK modding.
Bella 18 Jan, 2020 @ 7:28pm
@Profession Cupcake

Also, when viewing a player, it shows the players details like name, tribe name, level would also be helpful.
Bella 17 Jan, 2020 @ 4:03pm
@Professor Cupcake

Right now the only thing that I can think of right now is owning tribe, personal owner for dinos and structure details like tribe name, personal owner (if one), decay timer, whether it can be demolished etc. We use your mod on our PVP server and its AMAZING, just wish we had those other options too so when we are scouting a base we don't have to carry two different types of "spy" gear.
Professor Cupcake  [author] 17 Jan, 2020 @ 2:37am
@OniWan

That sounds like an issue with the S+ fabricator, I doubt it's something I could fix within CupVision. It could also be the same bug that's causing things to not appear properly in regular crafting stations, which is really annoying. I may make some kind of patch soon that adds all the engrams to the player inventory, as a workaround to these stupid problems.

@Ink

Good point - there are still a few things missing from the display that might be nice to know. Owning tribe, personal owner, anything else?
I totally forgot about the structure details. It never seemed that useful, but I can throw it in too if it's something people really want.
OniWanton 16 Jan, 2020 @ 3:39pm
The binos are not showing up in S+ Fabricator. They only show up in the non S+ version. However they do show up in the S+ Tek Rep. Way to make it show up in the S+ Fabi?
Bella 16 Jan, 2020 @ 12:29pm
I have a question that has probably been answered but I figured it doesn't hurt to ask again. With using the binoculars, when I scope an enemy dino it doesn't show as claimed. The only way to tell if it is tamed is by looking at the stats and seeing points pumped into it. I want to have the ability to see information like tribe name, personal owner, etc. Also the same issue when using the binoculars to look at a structure, it doesn't show information just tells me what I'm looking at (i.e. metal wall, metal foundation, etc.). Is there a way to enable this in the INI file?
