Is there compatibility with "Apocalypse - Skyrim Magic" or "odin - Skyrim magic"?
LOL_flashlight 11 Jan, 2022 @ 8:29am
Wall Of Storms spell seems underpowered, and doesn't seem to scale with the %damage increase from the perks. It does about as much damage as novice spell Sparks on my expert level destruction character. I think it's the same for the other wall spells too

Lo buscaré entonces, gracias!

Creo que la versión de Nexus Mods tiene una traducción a español. Pero ha pasado tanto tiempo desde que lo miré que no puedo recordar.
RastaGamer ☭ 5 Jul, 2021 @ 10:11am
Can i make this mod work in spanish version?
Marianojoey 10 Apr, 2021 @ 9:30am
@Keukotis for some reason, using the Nexus version has some kind of issue with Wrye, since it says the BM_Full will crash the game if activated for some missmatch with the strings.
Doctor Teo 22 Apr, 2020 @ 12:36pm
For how old this mod is, it's still one of the better ones for someone who wants balanced magic, but doesn't want to stray too far from vanilla Skyrim.
Gabriel 2 Feb, 2020 @ 2:09pm
does it conflict with ordinator perks?
Tyrax Lightning 6 May, 2018 @ 3:17pm
Ok, Nexus availability access is good enough. Many thanks. :)
Keukotis  [author] 6 May, 2018 @ 1:31pm
Skyrim Special Edition does not use Steam Workshop. This is original Skyrim only. This is available for Special Edition through Nexus and Bethesda.
Tyrax Lightning 5 May, 2018 @ 5:02pm
Question: Does Subscribing to this Mod work for Skyrim, Skyrim Special Edition, or both?
Keukotis  [author] 25 Apr, 2018 @ 3:41pm
Yeah, this mod has been available on Nexus since before the Creation Kit came out. It's one of the oldest mods for Skyrim that's still in heavy use.
Plascode 24 Apr, 2018 @ 9:15pm
Its definitely on nexus mods @LordDragon https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/4374
CaffeinatedNinja 13 Apr, 2018 @ 5:00pm
I would love it if you would add this mod to nexus mods! I have Skyrim VR and want to use this mod (I like it the best of the magic balancing mods) but I can't download it through Bethesda.net because I don't have SE.
Puppet Master 6 Apr, 2018 @ 7:49pm
To anyone wondering - i just installed this mod on my level 6 character and it appears to be working - so no you don't have to create a brand new character for this mod to work
Spaceman27 16 Mar, 2018 @ 2:47pm
I would appreciate if you wouldnt make the cloak spells scale in range, it makes them waaaay too powerful at 100 Destruction and not a lot of fun to use for roleplaying purposes.
John 30 Jul, 2017 @ 11:58am
Would I need to start a new character to play this??
Keukotis  [author] 20 May, 2017 @ 8:13am
Apocalypse yes. SkyRe, of course not. You can combine this with spell packs, but not with overhauls. Overhauls don't play nicely with all kinds of mods.
Paterix 19 May, 2017 @ 10:32pm
Does this mod work with Magic Apocalypse and SkyRE?
Gortahk 12 Feb, 2017 @ 6:32am
its funny, but since i have this mod active my mage getting 2 shoted from any other mage
Keukotis  [author] 19 Dec, 2016 @ 1:34pm
Just load that mod after this one. Should be fine.
Volatile-senpai 18 Dec, 2016 @ 9:41am
Does anyone know if this mod conflicts with "Better Dead Thralls"? (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/58069/?)
This mod has almost everything that I want, but Better Dead Thralls allows one to equip Thralls and removes the "That spell looks dangerous" line. I'm just afraid there might be an issue, because BDT allows any creature to be Thralled, something this one doesn't, so I don't know what will happen if I use both mods.
BullBars1 9 Nov, 2016 @ 2:44pm
I guess I'm not understanding what you did with fire storm. Is it still cast on self or is it point and cast without burning minions. Without burning minions would absolutely awesome.
Keukotis  [author] 3 Nov, 2016 @ 7:20pm
I'm still waiting on SKSE being released for Special Edition, which could take months for all I know. Lucky for me I'm busy with work and going back to college, so I have almost no free time anyway. Haaha... wait. Oh.
Elveanim 3 Nov, 2016 @ 3:57pm
Thank you so much. I actually didn't want to start a new game till I had that mod
Keukotis  [author] 3 Nov, 2016 @ 3:10pm
This is now available for the Special Edition on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Here is the PC link:

Keukotis  [author] 30 Oct, 2016 @ 11:02am
That mods list is separate because it's done through Bethesda instead of Steam. I would have to upload it to that site as well. You can just download this and move it into your data folder manually, though.

I'm busy, but I will try to get this and a few other popular mods of mine posted to the Bethesda site soon. For now, those that do not include scripts should already work with SSE, and they're all available from Skyrim Nexus.
Elveanim 30 Oct, 2016 @ 8:46am
ah ok. I just haven't seen it in the mod list over there. Or am I missing something?
Keukotis  [author] 30 Oct, 2016 @ 8:44am
From what I've heard, mods only need to be updated if they contain scripts. I made this years ago, but from memory, I don't think this has any scripts. I would assume it should just work right away.
Elveanim 30 Oct, 2016 @ 8:38am
Is there any chance for this to appear in the special edition soonish?
Sak_Ujo 7 Jan, 2016 @ 8:05am
As far as I can tell they are compatible.
Kyrian Salvar 2 Jan, 2016 @ 1:13pm
is this compatible with invested magic?
Late 28 Dec, 2015 @ 12:23am
i got it working xD i did some weird shit and now it works lol
Keukotis  [author] 27 Dec, 2015 @ 10:11am
Common issue with several games that use Steam Workshop, especially if you've got a very large number of mods. Sometimes it simply doesn't download the mod. There's nothing I can do. You'll have to figure out how to get Steam Workshop to download.

Alternatively, it's possible you have a mod lower in your load order that is overriding this, but downloading this through Steam Workshop will put it right at the bottom, so that wouldn't be the issue unless you personally moved it.
Late 27 Dec, 2015 @ 5:23am
how do i activate this mode like so that i can use it in game i subscribed tot he mod but its not working?
Keukotis  [author] 24 Oct, 2015 @ 9:30pm
@Hogger
Every other effect that empowers Illusion boosts its magnitude, which makes the spells eventually have ridiculous magnitudes such that they work on anything. Increasing that further wasn't necessary or useful. On the other hand, Illusion didn't have means to increase duration, so that's actually a useful effect for the master perks to have.

@Zephyr gamer
Thank you. That's actually the point. I don't want to touch the magic system very much, just balance it so it's fair to invest in versus combat.

boring

therciohenrique 17 Aug, 2015 @ 6:44pm
do you think you could make the improvments on chain lightning, fireball and ice storm separate from the "better spell mastery"? I wanted to instal it but I can't because it comflicts with some of my mods
basic 11 Jun, 2015 @ 7:17pm
did you increase the mana recharge rate in combat
Doctor Teo 7 May, 2015 @ 8:03pm
Just installed this mod because I kept hearing about it.

Great mod. It doesn't set the magic at an absurd level (like legendary daedric bows with full enchanted apparel), but it does place it at a level where magic feels like it's doing a reasonable amount of damage and scales decently well enough.

I may have liked something that amps up the early channeled spells like Sparks, Flames, and Frostbite a little more since the game scales out of them quickly, but the fact that I can use things like Fireball and Incinerate without feeling crippled or lowering the difficulty from Master is great.

A very simple mod that is very enjoyable. +1
Keukotis  [author] 18 Mar, 2015 @ 8:43am
That was, actually, the very point of this mod. It makes changes that don't disrupt the system. I think Bethesda made a great game and I don't particularly want an overhaul. Better Magic on the Skyrim Nexus page is also modular, so you can strip out whichever parts you don't want for as close to vanilla as possible while still improving the weak magic system.

That being said, I've always been very open about sharing my work. Simply put, I make zero money from doing this. My only motivations are personally wanting the mod and believing it will benefit others too. If this would be better for you if slightly different, please feel free to make the changes. Also please feel free to post that somewhere for people to use and judge which version they would like. You can credit me as SushiSquid or Kevin Fitzgerald (the mod is posted as Kevin Kidder, but I got married five months ago and took my wife's last name).

I'd love to see what you do with it, so let me know when you're done.
Dagon'sRealm 16 Mar, 2015 @ 6:39pm
I just feel like not all changes and effects the mod makes is in line with Bethesda's intentions of the magic skills. It's still great but I thought I should make some tweaks so magic is better but not quite so different from vanilla. It will probably end up being its own mod with only similarities to this one.
Keukotis  [author] 16 Mar, 2015 @ 2:56pm
As far as I'm aware, this doesn't need updating. I still use it today and it seems to be just fine. If there are updates that need to be made, let me know.
Dagon'sRealm 16 Mar, 2015 @ 1:57am
First of all, thanks for such a great mod. Because it hasn't been worked on in so long, I wanted to try my own hand at updating it as a new mod. I have the same username on the Nexus and I will give you credit for your work. I just wanted you to know first before I started on it.
Jasmin 22 Feb, 2015 @ 10:34am
There is one problem with this mod. It changes Fire Storm into suicide spell :( Any chance you could take a look at this? For whatever reason reverse-engineering your mod locally doesnt fix the issue
randy.parsons 20 Feb, 2015 @ 11:54pm
Very good mod! I still run out of mana a lot but this mod makes a mage playable at least. Without modding, any player with a rusty dagger could outdamage a mage!
Gab 18 Feb, 2015 @ 3:30pm
i have a few questions, its easy to install and uninstall? What happen with my spent points?
DarK PAladIN 20 Jan, 2015 @ 8:00am
You should consider making the novice level destruction spells (flames, sparks and frostbite) slightly more powerfull for the late game.
